Million dollar question, if you find the answer then let me know :)

Conversion is all about ease of making the deposit and how the site looks.

You visit a Casino that is simple to use like Totesport or 32Red and it's fairly straight forward, but if you go somewhere like Victor Chandler who, quite literally have the worst website I have ever seen, people are just going to think Fook that and walk away

A couple of comments (from a players' perspective) regarding other 'reasons'. Your poll sounds more like a rant, actually ;) ...

After registering, I used to always email the casino CS -- at least once, sometimes twice -- with a question. If CS didn't reply in a timely fashion, or replied something not pertaining to what I asked, or gave incorrect information, that casino probably wouldn't ever see my money.

Perhaps the method the player wants to use to deposit isn't listed.

Perhaps the player re-read the T&C and didn't like *insert pet peeve of your choice here* -- max payout amount per week, your waiting time before WD are processed, etc. You name it.. it's different for every player.

I think you come across quite rude and I wonder exactly what your angle is. Are you a casino owner/ affiliate? I can't see why you would be so "passionate" about it otherwise.

Theres quite a few reasons why I would do it.

Sometimes I go for a casino, register an account and then whilst its downloading check reviews sometimes they are bad so I dont bother.

Some I go to claim the free chip, play the chip and if the slots play quite tight I wont deposit.

Others (namely playtech's) I am pushed out of wanting to deposit by their support. If I login and they message me trying to get me to deposit without being able to have a look round first then they are gone. Likewise if I get a free chip and they do it since I want to play my free chip, then decide, not have some desparate chat support nagging me into a deposit before I even get to play it.

hmm rude!!! listen this excercise is out of curiosity .

    A) yes i work in the gambling industry

    B) If my post offends you then flag it or dont write anything that is of no use

    c) if you feel the desperate need to place a post as you have then make it interesting and give your point of view !! why it is you would visit a site go through all the process and not end up making a deposit

    D) If you also work in the industry then you seriously ask stupid o questions & if you a player you should be excited that marketers etc.. are looking to listen to people opinion and see how it is that we can make online gaming a better place for all,

To everyone else besides Australian sensitivity,

I would like to thank you for the posts its great to see the amount of responses and involvement .

To get players as well as brand marketers and other members of both online and land based casino input can only change online casinos for all and for the better

Many casinos have fallen away because they focus to hard on their needs, costs ect.. and do not focus on what actually makes online casino somewhat the Great industry that it is.

On a last note just before i got a promotion a player said to me that online casino has changed her life in many ways because most hosts go over and beyond to bring a personal touch , in that for that player being sick as she was and with no family it was her last life enjoyment

so thumbs up to all the players and people out their trying to render a great service

    1) The offers look very good, so you register. Only then do you become aware that things were not what they seemed, usually because the advertising was misleading, or made exaggerated claims.

One example is the Microgaming "free money" offer. This is usually "get $2000 absolutely FREE, and get to keep your winnings".
At first sight this looks very good, and whatever you win, you keep, even if only as a bonus.
Having registered, you then discover that you can only "win", say, $100, and that it has to be wagered 30x, AND you have to deposit. Thus, a fair bit of the initial offer is not actually true.
Having got this far, players may feel they have been "set up" for a scam, so will NOT go on to deposit, even if they do end up playing their free money for "shits & giggles".

Another common example is the introductory free chip. This is usually a small amount, sometimes $10 or less, and MOST players end up losing it all.
A few however, just get lucky, and manage to win enough early on to be worth withdrawing. This is when they experience the operator doing their best to NOT pay out on the free chip, often for reasons not mentioned in the initial offer, but that are buried somewhere in pages and pages of "smallprint". This makes the player think the site is a scam, and that every time they win, they will face a battle to get paid, thus they will walk away, rather than risk real money with a first deposit.

Of course, you have those players who make a career out of playing ONLY the introductory free chips, and take any winnings generated. This group never intended to deposit anyway, so there is nothing the operator could have done differently to convert such players into regular depositors.

Apart from these, there will be players who fully intended to deposit, but either they find that for some "technical reason" they just can't, or they become aware of some negative information that scares them away in the time between registering and putting together their first deposit.

Experienced players tend to check much of this out before they even register, and will simply not register if they don't like what they see, so the operator has no idea that they have put these players off.

    Yes, I'm in this group.
I expect to find all the key information I need on their website. If it's not there, I'm gone!
If I have to contact the casino to ask ANYTHING, them they are not doing their job properly IMO.

I also totally agree with Mousey; pop-up chat windows are a REAL turn off. Even the real person ones, but especially the bot ones!

    Confusion?

If you've managed to get people to invest their time into downloading the site then you've probably made a good enough job of selling the site to them.

The issues then are likely to be
1: You've oversold the site and the download client doesn't quite match up to your pitch.

    2: There's a problem with the client.

3: You haven't given them enough information online (such as accepted payment methods etc) and they don't see what they want within the client.

There are plenty of non-download casinos to choose from and plenty which offer a flash version as well as a download. Most people faced with that would try your online version and then, if they were happy with that, would invest their time and effort into downloading the client.

I have a different reason for not playing.

The first thing I always check out is the banking section to see if I can deposit with my limited options. Then I check the withdrawl options to see if I have a chance to get my money back

I wanted to play with a betonsoft software casino. I check out Grand Eagle. They accept Eco card and Usemybank, two options I use. Perfect. So I download, register and then go to the banking page and what do I find? My only deposit option is Visa. HUH? It said Eco and USE M B are not available to me. I go to chat and they tell me "sorry but it will be available soon"

So why do they list an option and then after I go to all the trouble it is not available. That tells me alot about a casino. I deleted it from my compter at once. I sent an email before writing this just to check and it is still not available ( 4 months later).

That is why I might download and not play

It's rare for me to open a casino account and play for real money right away. I've got a couple casinos that I've downloaded, registered and have yet to make a deposit simply because in one instance I felt like playing and thought, "Oh I should try XYZ casino this time..." and then I found out that they don't take the deposit method I had cash in at the time. Another time I was going to deposit and I logged in to get the dreaded, "We have a casino error, please try later" message so just went to spend my money elsewhere.

And sometimes it's just because I think of playing and then decide to play somewhere that I've already gotten my docs approved because I just don't feel like hassling with docs in a new casino. Or I find out they don't flush and decide to play somewhere that does. Or I'm waiting to have my docs preapproved. Or I'm waiting for an email response. Or I read about a problem another player had and I'm waiting to see how it resolves before risking my own dosh. Or my gambling budget got blown on an emergency vet bill. Or an emergency shopping spree.

There are all sorts of reasons that I do it.

In all fairness though when I last saw many rival casinos had listed visa card as deposit and withdraw method, but its only when you deposit and win you realise you cant withdraw to card and can only withdraw to an e-wallet you have used to deposit.

I think you are asking the wrong questions with the wrong attitude. Please don't take offense.

It isn't about why players don't deposit. It is about why they do. Think of it like baking a cake. You can't ask: What would ruin the cake more? No eggs, or no flour? No sweetener/sugar?

The answer is, none. To get players to deposit, and not once but many times, you gotta get a lot of things just right. And each thing is a delicate balance. You need patience, passion and the ability to see things from the customers side, not just from your own perspective.

Let me tell you why on bingo sites:
Bingo Castle give you £3 every Friday (usually but not exclusively)for nothing I have never needed to deposit.

The Chelbus Bingo sites have just given me £5 or £10 at their sites even though I have never deposited so why don't I deposit because bingo sites make it so difficult to withdraw anyway especially with all the bonus playthroughs that I just play the bonuses they give every so often and leave it at that.

Ready Set Bingo and their group send emails usually every two weeks offering £5 free so why bother depositing here either.

As for casinos they are a different matter I have limited funds so tend to stay at the ones I like (Coral, Get minted , certain MG ones) if I stray it is usually for the bonus or to try what matters most in depositing is will I get my withdraw if I win and how quickly.

My 50c would be there are a lot of No Deposit Bonus players out there who install off an old Aff Link on a dodgy site somewhere that was offering a $100 free chip etc that expired years ago, and when they can't get there free dosh they delete and uninstall (After perhaps begging to CS for something for nothing of course!)

    That is really sick IMO.

You're proud that you "changed someone's life" by keeping them gambling and giving you their money, and that tells me a lot about you and your operation.

Oh, and don't tell me what I can and can't write. Last time I checked you weren't a moderator.

Why don't you stop being deliberately vague about who you are and who you represent given that members are providing you with free market research....they are being honest, you could at least return the favour instead of trying to come across as some average player who is just curious.

Dude, chill a bit! If you don't like Nifty's posts then ignore them but it's not up to you to say who is and who isn't welcome to post here. That's a job for the site Admin and Moderators, if you please. Furthermore a measure of respect and civility toward your fellow forum members is expected of you. Please keep this in mind if you feel the need to berate Nifty, or anyone else, in the future.
