VirtGame Receives License as Manufacturer and Distributor in Nevada
Friday October 25, 12:55 pm ET

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 2002--VirtGame(TM) Corp. (OTCBB:VGTI - News), a networked gaming software provider to the regulated gaming and lottery industries, announced today it received a manufacturer's and a distributor's license from the Nevada Gaming Commission.

The license was limited to 18 months and will be reviewed in April 2004.

In addition, VirtGame was found suitable as a manufacturer and a distributor of Associated Equipment.

VirtGame had obtained an Associated Equipment approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board in October 2000 for the first closed-loop sports wagering system in Nevada. Closed-loop systems are controlled-access private computer networks. VirtGame's closed-loop system has been used by Coast Resorts, and its sports wagering software has powered the over-the-counter operation at the Las Vegas Club for more than three years.

The Nevada gaming license approved today is an important milestone in VirtGame's overall strategy. VirtGame is working toward offering a complete software solution and pari-mutuel services package to race and sports books in Nevada, and deploying race-and-sports-themed games of chance into casino race and sports book areas. These games would provide wagering opportunities during less active periods when no or limited horse racing or sporting event wagering is available.

"This is an important step toward the future of regulated networked gaming," said VirtGame's president and CFO, Bruce Merati. "We have meticulously developed and tested what may be the most technologically advanced, secure and realistic casino-style gaming platform. We believe our software and Power Station can significantly enhance the revenue of the race and sports book areas of any casino and make them better profit centers."

Subject to future regulatory approvals and licensing, VirtGame SP(TM), the company's proprietary server-based platform, can enable casino operators to offer customers: 1) cutting-edge gaming terminals anywhere on the casino floor, 2) remote wagering via kiosks and wireless devices, and 3) home wagering via closed-loop systems or other private networks.

The Nevada license approved for VirtGame covered the design, development, testing and delivery of a software and hardware system for a server-based gaming platform for use in race and sports book areas. VirtGame is about to present its business plan and system to the Gaming Control Board for review and approval.

VirtGame's ability to deliver its innovative wagering system is attributable to its open technology server-based architecture integrating innovations from Microsoft, Sun Microsystems Java, Macromedia Flash and streaming technologies. In addition, its flexible "back-office" and scalable "front-end" technologies support multiple operating systems, are compatible with major commercial databases and can utilize almost any computer as a client.

The company's software can be deployed over a computer or through VirtGame's own Power Station(TM), a futuristic multi-purpose gaming station which is in development. This would enable a bettor, directly from a single Power Station or a computer, to wager on sporting events, watch live sporting events and play wagering games of chance such as casino games, video poker and slot machine games.

On Oct. 1, 2002, VirtGame announced it was coordinating its software platform with the Nevada racing hub owned and operated by Las Vegas Dissemination Co. (LVDC) and integrating the technology with existing terminal hardware. On Aug. 6, 2002, VirtGame announced it had signed a five-year agreement with LVDC making LVDC the exclusive distributor of VirtGame's race and sports book software within Nevada.
