Just received this email..VirginCasino was on my top 3 lits..

Hi xxxxxx,

We are really sorry to have to tell you that today is your last day to play at Virgin Games.

Due to changes in the business, from midnight tonight (00:00 GMT Tuesday 29th Jan 2013) players
from outside of the UK and Ireland will no longer be able to log-in and play with us.

The good news is that you have all of today to log-in, deposit and play your favourite games one last
time - and we ask that once you have finished playing you request your withdrawal of the money in your account.

If you don't get a chance to do it today, don't worry you'll still be able to contact us but you won't be able to log-in or play.

We would just like to take this opportunity to say that it's been a pleasure looking after you, and on
behalf of everyone at Virgin Games, thank you so much for choosing to play with us, and we wish you
all the very best for the future.

For the last time, good luck on your play today!

Virgin Games

Yeah, i received it too??! WTF??

How can they do this? They will lose so many players?

You guys know a good alternative? I don't know any casino that has all the games that Virgin has in that variety etc.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Thanks guys...

So sad... It was an awesome casino...

Yip they have just been bought by Gamesys who run Jackpot Joy. The slot games are being stripped back too to just a few IGT games and some of Gamesys own games. It's a real shame as Virgin's games portfolio was one of the best around.

The most similar games offerings to Virgin is probably Bet365 Games or BetVictor now although many of the "bookies" now offer multi-vendor products.

I'm really dissapointed to see them strip Virgin back so much - for some reason I had it in my head they'd keep it as it was after the sale. Oh well..

Wow - that's a shame.

Mr Green seem to offer a similar games selection in terms if IGT and elsewhere - so that's a potential alternative. I hit a stumbling block with them when I tried to make a withdrawal, it was resolved amicably but just saying to make sure you've got all your info/docs and confirmation in order before depositing the life savings. Can't fault the game selection and slickness of the portal/games.

The Gamesys offerings are generally pretty poor IMHO, I guess they'll drop the Virgin brand somewhere along the line as well.

I had hoped that aswell. In fact, initially I thought they were buying it as much it's slots portfolio as the player base but I was wrong

Last time I checked, Mr Green had a disappointing 24-48 hr reverse time where Virgin didn't but you are right on games choice.

Yeah agreed. I always saw Virgin as aimed at the more "serious" player and Jackpot Joy as aimed at the "casual" player and the games reflected that.

One odd thing I noticed is that while they are keeping some of the IGT games at Virgin, they are dropping Cleopatra. That struck me as very strange.

You are correct.

It's anything between quickest 3hrs, longest 72 hours - but you're right - it sits there all happily reversible until it gets processed. I'm pretty disciplined these days so it's not a massive issue for me - but absolutely 100% agree that the instant 'flush' should be a pre-requisite everywhere.

Yeah, Virgin was one of the last few 'almost instant's'

Cleopatra!?! Are they INSANE! That takes up around 90% of any deposit on any given day for me.

Wow.

Oh I forgot to mention that the report I read said they "...signed a long-term deal to develop real money and social gaming propositions globally under the Virgin brand".

Here the games they are keeping:

100000 Pyramid Slot IGT

Capt Quid’s Treasure Chest Slot IGT

Cats Slot IGT

Coyote Moon Slot IGT

Crown of Egypt Slot IGT

Da Vinci Diamonds Slot IGT

Da Vinci Dual Play Slot IGT

Diamond Queen Slot IGT

Dungeons and Dragons Slot IGT

Elvis - The King Slot IGT

Elvis - A little More Action Slot IGT

Fire Opals Slot IGT

Grand Monarch Slot IGT

Kitty Glitter Slot IGT

Monopoly Plus Slot IGT

Noah’s Ark Slot IGT

Pixies of the Forest Slot IGT

Siberian Storm Slot IGT

Star Trek d Slot IGT

Star Trek - Against all Odds Slot IGT

Treasures of Troy Slot IGT

White Orchid Slot IGT

Wild Wolf Slot IGT

Wolf run Slot IGT

I did ask (plea!) if the other games were coming back and got this:

They are not included in the launch but we will keep you updated as to what is happening regarding these as soon as we have more information.

Wow.

Mr Green has a great self-exclusion system, I usually withdraw an amount then exclude myself for a few days so I can't reverse withdraw.

WTF  What about affiliates who has players from outside GB ROI ??? I do not seem to have received any emails from affiliates

Mr. Green is cool, but it's just a pain that there is no way to flush your wd... It stays for at least 24 hours available to reverse... Secondly bonuses are pretty bad and you won't get a lot of them, only VERY rarely.

Besides that great games and they always payout without hassle, but it takes 2-3 days.

Oh, maybe i'll try that "self exclusion" option, never heard of this :)

Are you sure? I've had several e-mails about this. Still trying to decided whether to carry on promoting them, or just dump them. I never had more than 3 or 4 players per month there anyway... :(

For players seeking an alternative: I've been having a lot of fun at Vera & John recently. As well as the full suite of NetEnt games, they also have most (all?) of the IGT slots as well as many from Sheriff, Betsoft, Play N Go, and a few other suppliers.

I was just discussing this with my team here, I really like the new design!
Very Virgin, which is ironic I suppose.

If you are selling long haul flights. I can't see how this futuristic looking dolly bird convinces anyone to play at Virgin Games.

The links are small and unlcear and it is hard to work out what is going on if you are a new player. When you have looked at as many gambling sites as we have I think you tend to forget these things.

Just my 2 penith :)

Very surprised to hear this news! I was a loyal player at VirginGames for quite a while and always enjoyed the range they had. Very surprised they are ditching Cleopatra! And I expect they will take some of the Gamesys ones on board like Houdini and Tiki......... that said, I do enjoy Gamesys platform and software (belong to JPJ, Heart and Ceasars who use it) ..... but am still very surprised at this turn of events.

If you want a range of slots like Virgin had previously offered then may I suggest Paddy Power, Betfred Games, Quicksilver, or Mr. Green as others have said. Quite a few sites run the classic IGTs so never too hard to find a place to play.

I wasn't really concerned as Im hooked up to a zillion casinos :p I liked Virgin Casino because of the multiple platforms however there are a few out there that are pretty similar;)

Bet365 has similar platforms as well but unfortunately, no netent so Boyles would be one of my regulars these days because it has Netent ( my favourite software at the moment) Playtech ( I dont particularly like that one), and my ultimate favourite games Aristocrat eg: More Chillies, 50 Lions, Miss Kitty etc. The only thing missing is MG which is another of my favourite platforms :)

Comeon.com and nordicbet.com both have net-ent,Microgaming and other providers for people who want variety that Virgin Casino used to offer before they switched to solely IGT(collecting quicker than the speed of light) slots. I also know that Comeon payout very quickly and also offer self exclude to prevent players from using up money before its withdrawn send them all your id before attempting the withdrawal and you will be all good to take it straight out no qs asked or hassle!

So will Barbara be the face of Virgin Casino ? :D

We have to wait and see what it will all look like in a couple of months, but I have a feeling
with Gamesys it is all going to be quite cheesy.

Cheese aside and a little off-topic, but I've always found the Gamesys casino's really user-friendly with excellent, albeit limited, slots. I belong to JackpotJoy, HeartGames and Caesars which are the current Gamesys ones and all have been very good to me, including some very decent wins!

I'd go as far as to say that Caesars is one of my favourite online casinos now because of their hassle-free approach to everything - verification of docs was quick and simple, payouts always prompt, fantastic CS, generous, withdrawable cash bonuses out of the blue - and respectful to their VIP level players. Was a bit of serendipity because I joined them and wasn't sure what to expect, but it has been great.
