VIP cuts me off when I'm winning

They shut you down when you're on a streak.. yet you gave them 26k today? At your level of play, I'm sure that you can find a casino that'll treat you better than that.largeeyes

I was at the Casino Affilaite Convention today and brought up this thread to the people at VIP. They said this is some automatic trigger that shuts the game down when a player wins, I think it is $8,000. It shuts that one game down for 2 days, but you can play other games. I asked why they would do this, and their answer was that it is to protect the "problem gambler". Uhm, but you don't "protect" him when he loses $26,000?
I don't understand what they are thinking, but you might consider 32Red which has a $5000 limit on blackjack, and they pay a cashout usually within 24 hours.

If you want to protect the problem gambler... shut him down after a certain amount of losses in a particular day. Why shut him down when he's doing great? This kind of reasoning makes no sense at all given the fact that they never stopped a guy from losing 26k in a day.

from a sportsbook perspective in the uk, if you have a large winning bet they will conduct an investigation and will usually cough up within 3 days, however if your bets are so large that this regularly happens, then the bookie will make arrangements to prevent this happening all the time.
maybe you could ask VIP do a similiar thing for you as it does appear that you are a high roller, and judging by some of the threads on here recently, that although MG casinos cant interfere with the actual game, there is certain aspects of control over the software they do have.
if VIP are unwilling to do this, then this raises certain questions, i guess the most important one from everyones point of view, is this function of the software because the theory of software being streaky is actually fact and not a theory.
the other question is, if this is in place to protect problem gamblers, then why doesnt it stop at a similar amout when your losing ?

He is talking about VIP Casino that uses Cryptologic Software. Same thing happens at Omni casino and I would venture to say any Cryptologic Casino. You can win 4 hands in a row at max bet(if you are playing higher table limits in the $xxxx's) and it will become game unavailable for about a 24 hour period. The only workaround to this is if you were playing single player blackjack at 500-5000 spread and won four $5000 hands in a row and get cut off, you could then move on to the multiplayer blackjack game or the multihand blackjack game and continue playing until you win more max bets in a row and then get cut off again. I spoke to Daryl I believe at Omni Casino regarding this, and he said it is to protect the casino and is a common feature among all the online casinos out there(that I dont believe as it has never happened to me at Acropolis and 32red who take large bets and dont cut you off when you are winning). In my opinion it is a very shady thing to do as it does not work both ways. If you are going to cut me off when I win $20,000 in 4 hands you need to cut me off when I lose $20,000 in 4 hands. But nothing you can really do to stop this behaviour except limit your play with them.

personally i dont think this is to shady, as all forms of gambling tend to have some kind of house limit or winnings cap. but as i said most places will usually come to some kind of arrangement to accomodate you if it is something that happens regularly.
what does surpise me is that this is the crypto VIP casino, i thought they were meant to cater for the "high roller" ?

While I would likely never be in a situation where this would occur to me, I still think it is pretty lame. Especially the part where they cut you off if you're winning, but not if you're losing way more than the corresponding cut off point for winning. "Protecting the problem gamblers" indeed....whatever.

Where do you get this information? If it is true that a given software indeed is more "streaky" than live play then this would be proof that you were playing a non-random game. If software doesn't behave EXACTLY as the same games do in real life, then that software CHEATS. You can't have non-random distribution in a random game. Just a fact of life.
If it is indeed a fact that VIP's software is streaky, then that would be grounds for immediate roguing, by any stretch of the imagination.

To have the cut of at a mere 4 hands is not something to inspire confidence. If the software is streaky, they are cheating by capping the upward streaks but keeping the benefit of the downward ones. If the game was random the player would give the money back over the next xxx hands. If the amount won on 4 consecutive hands is too much for the casinos finance department they should lower the table limits. In Blackjack, 4 consecutve hands winning is pretty common. Harrods online casino even offer a bonus for winning 5 consecutive hands, each time you do it up to a set max bonus, this runs over some weekends.

(Of course, there are always streaks, but when people say a software is "streaky" they are saying that you get more streaks using that software than you might expect playing a random game. If the game is random, then it cannot be "streaky": they are mutually exclusive categories.
