I was just catching up with the Betfair thread and see that Villento and Rich Reels are no longer accredited...? I did a search to see if I could find out why but came up dry - anyone got info about their removal?

They have chosen not to respond to a couple of PABs and they don't have any interest on participating or monitoring the forum. It's a real shame, but this is their decision.

The complaints ended up at Kahnawake and resolved there.

Just to expand on that a bit: Kahnawake has the power to pull their license if they don't cooperate. Apparently that provides sufficient encouragement for them to do so.

So, they do the absolute minimum necessary, rather than concern themselves with the "customer experience" aspect of operation.

Clearly, they are no longer prepared to meet the higher standards for accreditation. All well and good, but not all jurisdictions are as good at policing wrongdoing than Kahnawake has RECENTLY become.

You may still be relatively safe playing there, BUT they are now "just another casino" among many that have NOT gone "the extra mile" for players.

:what: True, but what's your point? Bryan commented on how the issues got resolved and I elaborated to indicate that Kahnawake (to their credit) had them on a tight leash. Not sure how the other licensing bodies -- good, bad or atrocious -- come into this.

Do you mean that the complaints were settled fair n square when u say resolved? Or just, they are no longer complaints bc the KGC makes their ruling and the case is closed?

In the most recent case Kahnawake fully supported the player, over-ruled the casino and the player got paid in full. Not sure which other case(s) we're discussing here since I've only had to go to KGC over one Villento issue that I can remember. I'll check my records, could be the 'memory department' is on vacation again.

Malta.

Some casinos refer players to Malta, and these are NOT so safe if they have refused to cooperate with mediators.

Would Malta have decided in favour of the player in the same circumstances?

Were Betfair licensed by Kahnawake, players would have a better chance of a just resolution despite Betfair going on the defensive.

The point? IF a casino will ONLY resolve player issues through their licensing jurisdiction, where this is becomes VERY important in deciding how safe it is to play there.

Ah, quite so! Many so-called "licensing jurisdiction" aren't worth their weight in bog-roll, so yes, if the licensing body is what the casino is going to insist players take their issue to then (a) yikes! bad idea and (b) player beware. Frankly we add such places to the "No Can Do" List for a good reason.

Villento isn't on the list.

Perhaps the licensing jurisdiction could be made clearer, as the "whom to contact" seems to jump between regulators and company addresses.

 Nor should they be, at least not up until very recently. As far as we knew they were available to handle issues, only with this latest PAB have they proven to be off-hook. I believe Bryan is already in the process of re-evaluating their status on the site.

That's a shame - I played there before they were accredited here and never had any problems. Of course I never won very much either. Were there a lot of PABs against them?

OK, I didn't realise this was such a recent development.

More than normal I would say, but not a huge amount. They were never very enthusiastic about the PAB process but seemed to have made some peace with it, roughly a year or so ago I'd say.

(checking his records)

Looks like ten (10) PABs against Villento in three years (since I started doing the PABs). By contrast 32Red -- for example -- has had one (1) in that time, 3Dice has had four (4), etc. In contrast Nedplay had 13 in about 7 months (this was before 32Red, they've had 0 since).

FWIW, one PAB or so a year is pretty low, IMHO, and says nothing bad about the casino. Half a dozen or so a year usually means the place is headed for the dark side, but that's highly subjective depending on many things including the size of the operation.

In your opinion, is this the case with Villento Brands? I wonder bc I have been having new issues with my w/d's there, and when I ask q's bout the 'process' I am replied to with circular rhetoric or questions as to what my concerns are. When I address their re-query of my question with my concerns, they then revert back to the circular rhetoric. (Its kinda fun actually, I would tend to keep it going if money wasn't the issue.)

They are on the "microgaming" list here, but villento tells me they do not use Microgaming software, although they have the same games.

me: you are still micro gaming?
me: ?
Nicole : No we are currently using an unbranded software provider
me: why would you leave microgaming? they have the best software in the industry
Nicole : Since our Us players were moved to an independant platform
me: same games?
Nicole : Microgaming has actually cut all ties with the US market
Nicole : Yes all the same games are available

Reading through this thread, i cant really find if the current theme is DONT play here of DO.

It seems the other software has been made by "Level 11 Ltd", who have licensed a subset of the games from MGS, as well as permission to use the "look & feel" of an MGS client. Mostly these are MGS "own brand" games, and don't include games produced on themes licensed to MGS, such as Tomb Raider, Hellboy, LOTR, etc.
The software itself does not have a brand name - which is itself VERY odd in the modern world. Even the supermarkets invent a "brand" to sell us their "unbranded" products.

Effectively, it has to be referred to as something, and with no official name, players have started calling it "Microgaming USA" because it ONLY has Microgaming games, and does have the "look & feel" of the real thing.

It has also lead to confusion, with questions ranging from accreditation & testing, to regulation.

They still use MGS for non US as far as I know. They are listed as "proceed with caution" on the Casinomeister MGS list though. Your only point of contact beyond their support is their licensing jurisdiction.

I've played at Villento for about 3 years now... no W/D at all last year but just got one off of a bonus and it was wired to me without any problems. It takes a little more than a week as it always has, but no probs.
My only complaint with them really (same with all originally-MG sites) is that US players don't get any of the new MG games and only have knockoffs of some of the original MG games. But that an MG issue, not Villento issue.

The reason for this lies in the nature of debate. Some of us have had good experiences with this brand while others have been down the rogue road enough, that their lack of accreditation and questionable integrity is enough to stay far away. I think the theme is not an answer to the 'should I? or shan't I?' question, but rather, its a list of opinions and experiences that might lead others to make a more educated choice. I for one wonder everyday if I should play with them, or if I should not; I am cold at both RR and VLV, and the CSR's have been snippy with me lately. And this is coming off of 3k in deposits the last week in November.

Why the hell would the CSR's get snatchy with me after a huge amount of deposits, zero cashouts, and not a single pejorative statement from me??? You think they have linked my fact-sharing here with my accounts there? You know, a wise man once told me, "Just because I'm paranoid does not mean someone is not following me."
