Videoslots: Source of Wealth and locked account

I have been locked out of Videoslots since March 2022. Videoslots requested a Source of Wealth which I immediately sent to them. I have waited and sent messages asking when my account will be unlocked and I keep getting the same message "we are working on SOW and will email you when the issue is resolved". What is the recourse when your account is locked and you have a winning of 8G that I cannot withdraw?
Please let me know how I can have someone advocate on my behalf so my account can be unlocked and I can withdraw my winnings.

I thought SOW was only a UK thing, and it didnt impact us Canuckleheads, am I wrong maybe?
 
Not in my case. Many months being locked out for SOW.

The new Ontario Registered Operator agreements have a requirement to become accredited for safer gambling with RG Check. I would imagine SOW is advised and would expect any form of licencing or regulation to have some kind of AML requirements and guidelines.

The western world has gone AML mad, and Canada is right up there on the front line.

Not in my case. Many months being locked out for SOW.

A friendly reminder that as you now have an active PAB, we expect you to read and comply with the Player Arbitration Policies and Procedures. Specifically, item 1.10 regarding public posting. As stated there doing so "will result in your complaint being cancelled and discarded."

Is it standard for VS to SOW people that haven’t lost any money in over a year? Can I not use past winnings for my current SOW request?

Last year I was subjected to a bad identity theft problem that nearly resulted in losing £70,000, and while I can never be certain it was from an online casino, it was a very real possibility as I had only recently provided some to a casino, and my bank thought so too. Since then I decided to NEVER disclose any personal financial information to any online casino again.

So am I doomed when it comes to SOW now? Just close the accounts that request it?

Another problem is how do I prove my poker winnings from cash games, which often generates some serious cash for me (£41,000 last year) and as it‘s not taxable in the UK I don’t have to, nor do I declare it on any tax return.

Yes, you are doomed.
Once you trigger a SOW (usually by your cumulative life-time deposits reaching a certain level), then the casinos are obliged BY LAW to ask for SOW. There is no getting round this for UK licenced casinos.

I understand your reluctance to divulge personal info, but it's the ONLY way if you want to carry on playing at casinos who request it.
