Videoslots delaying payment of £45455.29 withdrawal

You must understand that VS have to make sure they get this right and are not in breach of any regs. Some of the fines that get dished out when online casinos fall short of player protection rules are ridiculous. I would bear that in mind before getting on your high-horse because a well-known and highly respected online casino aren't paying you a large sum of money as quickly as you'd like, when the deposits were made from someone else's account and you tried to withdraw them to your own.

And thats money laundry if you think of it. Casino's have to be very aware of that and pretty much on high alert.

I dont understand. Your sons bank account. Do you have a gambling issue?

The whole time I’ve explained to them, it takes as long as it takes. It’s the lack of transparency that is causing me a headache. I had no email this morning to advise my withdrawals had been cancelled, and had no email this afternoon to advise my account had been fully restricted.

If I were told why the process were taking so long, and given any remote idea as to how long it would take I would have had no problem at all.

When @Team.Videoslots first got involved yesterday they advised a potential resolution today or tomorrow, so I stressed I was fine with that. Things have however changed since then, with the further cancellation of withdrawals and closure of account.

I’m aware I seem highly strung, but this is a terribly large amount of money at a time that I’m potentially soon to be entering end of life care so securing myself a comfortable life while ensuring my estate remains as in tact as possible for my kids is something that this would allow - I don’t want that jeopardised. I apologise as such to anyone that might have found me abrasive this far

Me and my son both share access to each others accounts and have access to a joint account. A trusting (potentially overly so to the outside world) situstion.

Without getting too deep, we had a conversation about my current headspace and that I have nothing to keep me going. Nothing that excites me. We discussed the fact that having a flutter online would give me that, so he said I would be able to use up to £5000 from his account over a couple of days simply to feel something.

Not condoning it. Not saying it’s healthy. But this isn’t a situation I’ve found myself in before, and there isn’t exactly a handbook.

The playtime I had, even when losing was fun. The playtime I had when winning was fucking brilliant.

It wasn’t about the money, it was about the escape from normality and a game.

It has however materialised that this could potentially change the remainder of my life, so do I regret it should things go right? No. Would I do it again? No.

This too is why I say I would have no qualms if they paid it to my sons account. It’s his inheritance that will be going on my care in these coming years, so if he gets this now it’s just an advance on what’s to come! Hence money laundering doesn’t even come into it. The funds could go back exactly where they came from for all I care

I know I can’t take the money with me, at this point it’s all about him given what he’s supported me through.

... Big shock to me that despite the hypocrisy and lack of ethics behind what they're doing .. is portrayed by you as doing nothing wrong.
Perhaps you didn't read what I said closely enough. What I said was this:
... if you have solid proof they said in advance that it was okay to use the 3rd party funding source then that could be useful to you in the following circumstance ... namely to take your case to their designated ADR. ... if you do have the proof mentioned above you certainly should be able to make a case with the ADR for the return of the deposits.

Clearly that situation is not, as you've said, them being "portrayed by you [meaning me] as doing nothing wrong". I've said that if you have that proof you can make a case against them. Obviously you couldn't make a case against them if they were "doing nothing wrong".

Other than that the only other point I made was that going to their ADR would be the more productive path to follow. Not because I don't want your case but because Videoslots would almost certainly insist that you go the ADR route. How do I know this? I've known the Videoslots people since they started in the business and I've handled 100+ complaints with them over the past decade or so. Believe me when I say I know when they'll accept a case from us and when they won't.

I get the issue that they allowed you to continue to deposit but honestly why even take the chance of depositing with any account but your own? Pretty sure Videoslots has to ensure this isn't money laundering
Not even just continue to deposit, but require that I play through the funds before allowing me to withdraw

one question if you had access why didnt you transfer the money from your son account into your account first ?
then deposit to VS that way your wouldnt be having this issue :)
I hasn’t considered there would be an issue, given our financial links and transparency between us. In hindsight, yes this was foolish

I accept this, and apologise.

Truly I understand that you know them and the process better than I do it’s just frustrating considering that in reality I don’t see what’s been done that’s of any detriment to anyone. Doesn’t justify the shitty tone I used against you though, so I’m sorry

Also, irrespective of the help not being what I wanted to hear - thank you for offering it

Out of interest are there any cases of losing deposits from a 3rd party payments being refunded? I only ever see big withdrawals being denied and funds returned

Exactly what I mean about the predatory nature of the industry. They’re happy to rely on the terms and conditions which MIGHT stand in their favour, but have no regard for the players themselves.

This is the first time I’ve done this, so have no prior experience. I also don’t proclaim to be a pro gambler, which I suppose is a good thing - though perhaps not considering my 10x return on a £4K deposit 💸

As a veteran banker this is concerning. I'm not surprised VS has red flagged. The conduct is likely to be in breach of the bank account T&Cs.. Even if a signed third party authority was given the transactions should still be for the account owner's benefit, not to spend on gambling for yourself.

Providing proof of consent after winning is self serving. Would the consent have been provided if lost?

If the account holder complains about not authorising the disputed card transactions the casino has little chance of successfully defending under the relevant card scheme rules and is forced to refund. The evidence shows the money came from a third party who did not obviously benefit from the transaction.

Okay maybe this is all genuine and if so hope player gets money back.

But seriously they never told you it was okay to keep using your sons account. You deposited £2,000 and they told you against terms and the letter was basically as they already had the money they needed to know if your son approved it or if you had stole it. Then when you went to live chat the agent probably just used the normal line as from their side they just see the deposit and no playthrough they do not have access to chats with finance.

And lets face it most chat agents are pretty clueless. So you lost the money. You saw the hassle yet still went and deposited another £2,000 When they had already told you against terms.

Then also you have a joint account . Why not use that instead of sons. And if you could afford to gamble you should have money in own account . Seems pretty strange to be talking about estate and inheritance if you have no money . Also if you are not a professional gambler it all seems weird . Why not deposit £50 to have bit of fun and pass time. Seems real strange to go to your son I am in a bad place and need something to do . I dont gamble much but is it okay if I just blow £5,000 on gambling to pass a few hours.

So if it was fun of gambling and the passing time why would you go for a £2,000 deposit to start. Seems a lot to just have little fun.

And for the record of course you have done wrong. Major wrong. We are not talking depositing a tenner from sons bank. We are talking depositing thousands from his account and trying to withdraw to your own account. You can not get worse than that. That is exact reason money laundering rules exist to stop people depositing thousands and withdrawing loads to another person.

Sorry but the more that gets added just makes the whole story sound real strange.

The consent was provided prior to even the deposit, and winnings. The form was completed within minutes of the request being issued, hardly a sign of my son being under duress. My access to his account remains to this day, as evidenced by the second deposit which took place 10 hours after the first and also after his letter of consent had been given. Had he been disproving of the initial deposit would this be likely?

The joint account has funds for shared financial commitments only, as do all of my accounts for personal commitments and reserves. As stated, I have no qualms with the funds being returned to his account. The thought was not there at point of the first deposit of any wrongdoing, as full consent was there and nothing in T&C’s seems to prohibit what was done, particularly with respect to the fact full consent was given prior to, and still to this day for the transactions to take place. This deposit was rejected due to me not wagering the funds, showing they were happy for me to play with funds deposited from third party payment methods, so again no wrongdoing was considered on the second deposit.

The intent wasn’t just to pass time, as much as to provide excitement at the potential of a win. I’m not here to justify whether you consider the actions strange, as I’ve already addressed the fact that many would consider mine and my sons financial links to be atypical. As is a diagnosis of a terminal illness, which my son understands to an extent that he as someone who has experienced the serotonin boost high roller gambling provides was happy to allow to happen irrespective of the end result. As it happens he has already been paid out the initial deposit, and stands to as far as I’m concerned benefit from the full amount of my winning should VS consider this necessary. He didn’t even expect payment to be returned to him should I have won as I have, so this is a situation that could work highly favourably for him.

As to comments pertaining my financial means, entirely irrelevant but should I have wished to liquidate assets for purpose of gambling I would have been both able and willing to. Inheritance =/= cash in the bank.

The point still stands irrespective of any of this irrelevance, that I don’t consider the casino to be acting fairly, nor in line with their terms. I will seek to pursue this to mine, my families and counsels fullest capacity and hope that video slots will act in a responsible, and fair way without causing additional duress to me in what is already a tough time.

Well to be fair I'd expect a SOW of SOF check on that withdrawal and we'd be talking abou them questioning the 2 x £2000 payments his son sent him

Lucky loser

Do you have any examples of this? I guess we don't see them as much but wondered if you have any

I thought they looked into more detail though in a check? Would a £2000 transfer then an immediate £2000 deposit to a casino not set off flags?

Gifts from family members happen all the time. They could ask for a stat dec if they were suspicious.......maybe??? Red flags are more likely if received from a 3rd party with no obvious links.
