Nice to know.

It's a shame though. Intercasino was our top casino years ago. They have gone through a number of changes over the years, but back in the day they were absolutely number one.

I guess this may be a growing trend with the nanny state the UK is in right now. If that's the case, I really can't blame them.

I agree its a shame. As a UK player I think restrictions will get tighter and tighter leaving a handful of operators with maximum stakes at who knows what or something crazy like that. Obviously not worried about the bad operators so it should do some cleaning but I think it may go to far.

Never had any issue with them from small to large withdrawals, to KYC etc.

Didn’t like their tournaments though : shop and goodies offered seemed to drop a bit in the last 12 months.

They were great some 10+ years ago. I even remember them introducing a LIFETIME monthly bonus at some point. That lifetime turned out to be quite short.

Sad to see such reputable brands abandoning the UK market. Once the UKGC put max bet rules in place and have a minimum spin time of 2.5 seconds then I can lots more jumping ship.

There’s lots of ways to protect problem gamblers, ones that don’t harm the gambling industry and players.

At this rate, there isn’t going to be any companies left to pay the multi million pound fines the UKGC love to dish out.

Yes, I was quite shocked at this one:

Dear Affiliate,

We are sorry to announce that Vera & John and InterCasino will cease to operate in the UK market as of 3rd September 2019 (“Closure Date”). In addition, please be advised that as of today, 5th August 2019 we have ceased to accept new customers and the registration form has been disabled.

All commission generated and accrued prior to the Closure Date will be stored on your account and paid as per usual. No further payments or activity shall be made on this account after the Closure Date. The final commission payments will be made shortly after Closure Date

Your account will remain open following the brand closure and we would encourage you to look to redirect traffic to one of our existing programmes across Europe - please reach out to your representative to obtain further information. In the meantime, we would ask you to remove any UK facing marketing materials as of today. All remaining UK marketing assets past the Closure Date will be deactivated and users will arrive at a 404 error page.

We thank you for your efforts and cooperation with us to this date, and we hope to have the opportunity to work with you again in the future as circumstances develop.

It’s a shame. Been using Vera and John for a few months, and not had any issues. They recently switched their bonuses to cash payouts as well, which was great.

Bother.

Probably the beginning of the end a desperate attempt to bring in more customers but when you get 10 coins just for logging in and can get free spins for just 61 coins it cant have been profitable for them.

Max bets and minimum spin time ? Is this sarcasm or being looked at ?

So many posts on here nowadays about either UK casinos closing or customers self excluding . The UK online casino industry clearly on its way out.
Another view is that the gravy train is over and we actually have a regulator starting to show their teeth. With more than 5.6 billions pounds on the table to play for the UK online casino industry isn't going anywhere. You are of course always welcome to play at casinos that aren't regulated by a 'nanny state' such as Curacao. The choice is yours.

But there is regulation and over regulation. The UKGC is now heading towards the latter, which in turns results in casinos giving up with the UK market because they can't be bothered with all of it for a relatively small profit margin.

I think we have reached that point here in Sweden. We have that 3sec rule. No max bet tho, and we have autospins.
But casinos are not allowed to offer us any bonuses apart from the welcome bonus. So after you have used the welcome bonus, every site is more or less the same nowadays.
Not sure how much that hurts the casinos profit, but i imagine they make quite a bit of money running promotions and giving out bonuses to entice players etc.
I think when the license runs out, alot of casinos will choose to not renew it.

Has made it alot less fun for players (wich i guess is the point). I used to play with bonuses quite often, since im a lowroller, and it would extend my playtime alot. Most of the times you would not manage the wagering, but it was still fun.
I think Sweden wants monopoly on the casinomarket with Svenskaspel and Atg, but since that is not allowed in EU they make the swedish market shitty so no other casinos will stay.
Tinfoil-theory. =)
