US political crisis

I think that her inability to answer questions relating to policy and replacing every question with word salad and uttering shit like "what has been will be the same on the sunday after your haircut" or whatever plus stating that she would change nothing from the past 4 years cooked her goose.

Folk wanted to hear clear answers and detailed policy changes that would get the country back on track.
And throwing taxpayer money on wars and expecting those thats family and friends who are/where killed back in their motherland or region of origin was too much to ask.
It really was as if the Dems wanted to lose.
And Joe put on a good show of mental decline to avoid prosecution for his various crimes while insisting Trump be prosecuted left right and centre on the flimseyest of evidence.

Plus Trump had a clear plan for economic growth and stability, the climate bollix and a road to pring peace around the world
This was one of her biggest errors, no doubt. When she was asked tough questions, quite often her answer started with the words "Donald Trump".

Donald Trump is going to do this very bad thing
Donald Trump is going to do that very bad thing
Donald Trump is going to do the other very bad thing
Donald Trump will ban breathing in woke progressive areas
Donald Trump will ban men from participating in women's sports, the misogynist bastard!
Donald Trump is a threat to democracy
Donald Trump will hurt your fee-fees
Donald Trump will send us all to the gas chamber
Donald Trump will send us all to the gulags
Donald Trump blah blah blah, blah blah blah orange man bad, orange man very very bad orange man
Donald Trump will outlaw word salads
Donald Trump will water down my alcohol
Donald Trump will ban cackling like a hyena
Donald Trump will ban lettuce, rocket, tomatoes, croutons, rice, pasta, chicken and tuna, but he won't ban Caeser salad dressing because it's named after a dictator like Mussolini, Franco, Hitler and Stalin, all of whom are less evil than Donald Trump

FUCK. OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.
And please, while doing so SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP.

AT NO POINT did Kamala Harris say what GOOD Kamala Harris would do, only what BAD Donald Trump would do. BIGLY mistake.
Possibly because she hadn't the bloody slightest clue what good she was going to do, if any at all
OR
She DID have a clue what Obama and Killary were going to order her to do, but dare not reveal it, as it would have been so unpalatable to the voting public that it would guarantee a huge and potentially result-altering loss of votes.

This might well be the reason why she didn't appear on Joe Rogan, her other MAJOR mistake.
Because he absolutely would have asked thoughtful questions that she was ill-equipped to answer, for fear of those answers turning into a clusterfuck of electoral own goals.
And one thing Rogan does REALLY WELL is that he lets his guests speak as freely as they wish.
He is an excellent conversationalist. It is why so many of his shows last in excess of three hours.
That was THE NIGHTMARE SCENARIO for someone like Kamala Harris.
WAYYYY too much time for her to talk herself into super deep doodoo.

Meanwhile, Trump KNEW the VALUE in appearing on Joe Rogan's podcast.
Get the message out to a wider audience. Tap into the key demographics.
Help the undecided make a voting decision, one way or the other.
By providing them with a compelling, persuasive reason to do so.
A vote not cast is a vote not won.

The Democrats and Kamala basically decided that they were too good for all of that mullarkey.
That it was beneath them.
Well guess what, the majority of the voters decided that the Democratic Party were beneath them
and served them a big plate of FUCK YOU.

Throw in Elon Musk being the last guest to appear on Rogan before the election and it became clear who was taking the need to win this election much more seriously by leaving no stone unturned.

AAAAAAAAND BREEEEEEEEATHE. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH.

It's interesting that my mum is anti-vaccine but takes her distrust of authority and experts in the left-wing direction. She would agree with quite a lot of what you are saying but is diametrically opposed to you politically

Well I used to be a bit left wing in the 90s, there were anti globalism marches in seattle iirc by the young left in those days, now you get screamed at for being racist if you're anti globalisation. They knew a lot of jobs were going to be moved to the far east for cheap labour.

It does come from a bit of a suspicion that big pharma have got their financial interests at heart more than my health consequences.

And they're protected in that approach by the govts, not every child is the same and some will have reactions to too many vaccines, it's common sense, but how many children are at this risk it's unknown because it would undermine the govt vax programme (and big pharma's profits).

David Lammy is an absolute joke, called Trump everything under the sun a few years back, now just wants to just wave it all away as yesterday's news and because 'everyone did it'.

Trump is too kind hearted in a way, already gave Lammy a double serving of chicken when they met a few months back.

If he was a cruel b as painted, he would have got out the quote tweets just as david started to eat his dinner!
Let me guess. The chicken was fried...

Maybe they watched Starmer win by not engaging in policy but ignored the fact that there where in effect just 2 parties running in America and numerous in the UK that diluted the votes?

Jk Rowling dropping some truth bombs, in a similar way I'll talk about the problems of mass immigration and don't care about the name calling or accusations that results, more will get like this as the ill effects become undeniable.

That said I had a GP appointment recently with a lady of Indian heritage, but very integrated, a well educated, middle class professional, no complaints from me there. More like her wouldn't be a problem at all.

But the shady looking, furtive foreign youths, no thanks.

Ok I am standing back and looking at this objectively. It is quite clear there are and were two things at play which saw Trump win this election at a canter.

  1. The Legacy Media, ie the television channels and the print media are becoming more and more redundant. The rise of Social Media and being a real influencer has shone through in this election. I mean Rogan and Musk coming out in support of Trump was very telling. Certainly had more impact than the Hollywood A Listers and Pop Stars backing Harris.
  2. Looking under the surface, Harris's policies and stance on pretty much all important areas such as the economy and immigration, was arguably more left wing than Keir Starmer on a bad day. Thus Harris spectacularly misread the room that is the US electorate.
Notwithstanding the facts that Trump is a bold faced liar, is a convicted felon and arguably a sociopath, the above two points were enough to ensure he had the support of the country behind him.

Me, not being a US citizen I could not vote. But if I was, well none of the above would have mattered to me. I would have been unashamedly be a one issue voter, that being I would have voted for who would ever support Ukraine. I fear that this will not be Trump.

What a time to be alive.

Israel will be emboldened to raise their 'Fuck Around Find Out' game to another level entirely. Russia will be eyeing up the Baltics and Moldova if Europe and the UK do not pick up support for Ukraine, that Trump will likely remove ala US Support.

US and China, likely to engage in a trade war, plus the small fact that China could be emboldened to strike Taiwan.

North Korea run by a mentalist and the UK has arguably the worst government of my lifetime in power for the next five years.

Wow. If she was American Trump would sideline Nikki Hayley in a hearbeat to get her on his team

Possibly.

But they should have factored in one thing.

Starmer was not in government, so had no record of governance to be judged on.
And had no opportunity to generate any bad will towards him or his party (he has since fixed that  ).

But the Democrats in the US were in government these past 4 years, therefore they were subject to judgement. And given they have performed quite poorly, the bad will was inevitable.

They also badly misread the room, by not doing anywhere near enough to convince the American public that they were going to up their game from Biden's term. Zero focus on the bread and butter issues, complete obsession with the war in Ukraine and woke progressive policies.

As Bernie Sanders correctly said, they ignored the ordinary working class Americans. And now those same working class Americans responded in kind by not voting for four more years of them running/ruining the country.

The UK will not pick up the tab left by America. In effect the Ukraines ponzi scheme is cooked.

I have visions of you with your toy soldiers layed out with a full airfix battlefeild lit up by carbon neutral generated energy

Possibly not. I mean Thieves needs all the monies she is taxing us all to pay for those Union pay rise demands.

This is why thankfully we have our own independent nuclear deterrent. Although, Starmer could well be like Corbyn in this regard as well. Who knows...

I have not looked at Project 2025 because Trump repeatedly stated that he rejects almost all that it contains and he had no hand in it.
From what I can understand is that before each election republican think tanks come up with these proposals for consideration and discussion and the front runners have no input in it.

I am interested in how BRICS turns out and how Trump handles it because its influence will have a very big effect on America's fortunes.

I must say, I do like me some Critical Drinker

Met him - he's awesome👌

Making big waves as a critic, a far cry from his early Resident Evil videos. He's pretty much become the definitive critic on most things Pop Culture, notably among the Hollywood types that he critiques as well!

He dropped the actual 'drunk' phase of his reviews around two years ago, even if it was just for shtick. A wise move, ultimately

And think about it. 70 million people still voted for this bs. Too many people married to a party.

Think about it some more. I know ive said it a few times already

Insane inflation
Ridiculous grocery and gas prices
outrageous rent and housing
funding 2 wars
weird agenda with kids

And 70 million people voted for more of that.

I have no problem voting liberal or conservative. It just depends on the policies.

Now I do get some of it, the media had a lot of the every day person thinking hitler is coming to the USA...but still. All i hear about is how broke people are and how people are working 2 jobs and barely time for their family. Like come on.
