CM Announcement Upcoming Social Groups - need your input

Hi all,

I'm about ready to launch the Social Group section of the forum that will re-resurrect the old Meister Clubs. Old timers may remember these - discussions about healthy recipes, Canuck Corner, our pets, kids, beer, really anything not dealing with the main forum topics. Each social group will have it's own forum - either private or public. It's a bit like the Attic on steroids.

Experienced members and above will be able to create Social groups. Senior members and above will be able to create private groups (not to be used to troll folks or create mayhem). Full members and above will be able to join groups.

I am looking at this to supplement the off topic interests that we all have (me = photography and obscure movies), and to keep you away from Facebook

That saying, are there any Social Groups you would like to see right away? I can add these for when I finish up setting everything up.

Please let me know what you'd like to see. Serious responses only.

Also I am big into music / DJ stuff so maybe there is some interest in that particular corner.
Favorite recipes from different countries, so I'd share either a delicious recipe for a guinness pie (Irish) or Boerenkool Stamppot (Dutch) for example.

Wow, I love all these ideas already. @lotusch you are a man after my own heart, i love to spin a few tunes, still have my technics from back in the day, being serviced at the mo. Been a long time since I invited someone to see my record collection, it has different meaning now but that was a way of making friends/girlfriends in the 80's for me as a kid. @greylady I love animals and a the animal kingdom also so thats a given for me as well as recipes for dishes from around the world. Martial Arts would be my choice. Sports is an obvious one too, maybe Philosophy - always raises an eyebrow or two. Wellbeing is the buzz at the mo. Ill stop as im just writing out loud now.

Food? My facebook timeline is full of pictures of food people have made (I'm guilty sometimes too) perhaps a good one here to share recipes and show off?

Yeah I used to make my own mixes and stuff and still have a set of Technics SL-1210's from the early 2000's ...
And I used to play in a local nightclub on Saturday nights for 5-6 years back in the days.
Just not set up anymore as I simply do not have the time anymore with full time job and kids.

Yes, philosophy would be interesting. I love to read and this has been a hobby for me over two decades.

I think I would like to see a group for possibly mmorpgs like WOW, Anarchy online, and so on. Just to diversify a little, possibly posting pics of your best characters, reaching certain goals or items.

Waiting for WoW Classic, quit the original WoW after 9 years...Game has turned into a big massive disaster...
But can't wait to go back to the old days, WoW as it started and how it is supposed to be played...

Some great suggestions here - and since most of you are senior members and above, you'll have the opportunity to create these.

But since there is a learning curve, I can get some of these started, and of course it is up to you if you'd like to start your own as well.

Also, I'd love to see a group discussion about online gambling regulations (more detailed than normally on various threads on the forum). It would be great if some reps would join that discussion as well.

That is an excellent idea for the main forum - Compliance Forum. I will brainstorm that a little and get that going
