so, got THAT email today from Upaycard.:

Yep, they have closed the doors to the USA,too. (What a surprise) .

When I read this email on my cell, I just reached into my purse, pulled out my Upaycard and tore it up like a rabid animal. Another one bites the dust.

I use circle with no issues,

Also get free wallet at blockchain.info

Can also buy and sell on localbitcoins.

I must say, it would seem as if the government is getting more and more efficient on shutting down these deposit and withdrawal options as soon as they happen. I remember just a few months ago the casinos touting this was going to be a long term easy way for US players to play in there casinos. Yet apparently it didn't take long at all for them to close there doors to the US Player.

On either note I'm still not having any real issues with BTC. I still have plenty of routes to cash out my coin if win something. Some aren't always the cash method, but I still have routes available.

If true - I'm not surprised.
I couldn't understand how a UK licensed company was making US transactions in the first place.
Oh well, it looks like BitCoin, BitCoin or BitCoin only for USA players from now on...

Which is fine IMO. The reason of course is because bitcoin is so universally used besides just
online U.S. okay casino transactions. I would even go as far as to say that bitcoin is practically mainstream.

So, as long as bitcoin exists and remains popular, then we should have no problems whatsoever using it for OUR
entertainment wishes.

Of course, if it was a little bit more dumb-down for the average grandma to use, who really doesn't understand
cumputers much and has an itch for some online slots, it would be even more popular than it is now for
online casino transactions.. I mean hey! What's our mothers and fathers in Washington D.C. gonna do about it, huh?

Also, on a side note, bitcoin is NOT American currency.. So why the flipping f*** doesn't MG make a special US/bitcoin
only platform? Kinda like Level 11 back in 2012? Are they still shaking in their boots about the U.S. DOJ threat?

The fact still remains that because of our U.S. government's stupidity and lackadaisical approach to online gambling in
the U.S. America is bleeding billions of dollars to offshore establishments. Heh, what a joke.

So they continue to stalk and shutdown online wallets that cater to our desire to gamble as adults with our hard-earned money
instead of finding new ways to approach this topic with logic. America will continue to sit in the corner of the room with a dunce cap.

It is getting to be very sad...So many online wallets getting closed, it just never stops does it?

It is funny though because last week I had my bank freeze my account due to "Online Gaming". The thing is I have 2 accounts, one in a bank just for online gaming and 1 in another bank for my household bills etc. The house hold bills account was the one frozen because I used PayPal to purchase something on Amazon for my daughter for Christmas.

I get a call from the banks fraud department at 12:26 AM asking if I made a purchase of 238.16 USD. I said yes and because the amount was "suspicious" I had to go to the bank and show proof of my purchase to ensure it was not some form of "online gaming activity". So at 9 AM I was at the bank with the print outs of my purchase. Spoke directly with the bank manager. He informed me the fraud department is cracking down because it seems a lot of customers are using accounts to gamble online and the dollar amounts are (direct quote) "Not normal amounts". So he then proceeded to make copies of my printouts and then unlocked my account.

When he sat back down he asked if there was anything else he can do for me, my reply "First of all I am not a lot of customers, I am 1 unhappy customer that this bank has had for almost 25 years. Secondly I would like to withdraw everything except for the 238.16 USD. I don't want a cashiers check I want cash also.(We have a lot of money in this bank, all our rent checks get deposited here). Third, I am closing my daughters savings account and I would like that in cash also but in a separate envelope. Fourth, I will be back to close out my account when the last of the money has cleared.

He was not happy, asked me why I wanted to end my 25 year relationship with the bank, and I told him, if they can freeze my account for a purchase that is clearly stated PAYPAL and then have the nerve to ask for proof to make sure I wasn't gambling online after being with the bank for almost 25 years is ridiculous! The balls on this bank are bigger then an elephants and I want nothing to with this bank again. I asked for my money got it and left.

By the time I got home I had 3 messages from the main corp. office and asking me to call them back. I won't call them back and I opened new accounts with their competitor across the street, the bank manager even watched me walk right over to the bank. Their loss, not mine.

So be careful banks are watching too.

I've been trying to find out more about this, and so far the news I have is that UPay have pulled the ATM cards only (like Neteller & Skrill are also doing for most countries), but that US players can still use this wallet for online gaming.
(This is not 100% definite)

Hi LH!!

Love your reaction to the bank! Your story is priceless!

Hi Weesie!

Another funny thing.. The bank corp. office has called me 12 times now. I wont answer! Thursday, 12/1 was my birthday. The bank manager sent me a basket of wine and cheese with a bottle of Dom Perignon in it also. The corp. office sent me a gigantic basket of cheeses from all over the world. So I drove down to the bank and personally thanked the bank manager for the gift and closed my last account. He asked if we could into his office and discuss the misunderstanding... My reply...The only misunderstanding here is you thinking I am here to re-open my account. That is not going to happen! Then I left. I won't call the corp. office but they keep calling me!

I will just keep listening to the answering machine when they call, while I am enjoying my wine and cheeses lol

All the best,
LH

Loved to read your story, well done Lhofsdal! The law of cause and effect, make bad causes and suffer the consequences:D

Yes, but I am sure someone will be fired. The banks have to answer to The Fraud Dept., and then have to deal with it at the branch.

We would not have to deal with this, neither the banks too, if it were not for stubborn assholes that pass idiotic laws. And take our freedom away.

Someone will lose their job. Way to go America.

It is more related to Master card rather than Upay card itself ,the same happened to Paysafe group ( Neteller ,Skrill) as they have blocked the card for most of the countries .Having said that ,I believe it will just continue for every method available .

Sincerely
Mikey

I agree, the assholes in the government are the ones to blame! But, when my transaction goes through and is stated on the transaction PayPal, which I have used hundreds of times with this account, sets off the fraud department is absurd!

If the transaction came through from some place like China, I can see them flagging my account. But PayPal? I actually did call PayPal and asked them if they were aware that some banks are flagging transactions due to online gaming and to make sure there were no problems with my transaction. PayPal had no clue and asked if this had happened before. I told them no, because it had never happened before.

I don't know if anyone will get fired over this, but the bank did loose out here. Like I said all our rent checks were deposited here, and our savings accounts were at this bank. They lost a lot of money that day. What pissed me off, was they didn't believe me, I had to show physical proof it was not any form of on line gaming. Like I said to the gentleman on the phone, this bank is not up with the times, because PayPal stopped the use of using accounts for gaming activity in the US a long time ago. His reply.."No they didn't". Just goes to show you they have no clue. When I did go to the bank to close my accounts I brought a news article about PayPal and them not accepting gaming transactions dated back to 2012 when the article was written. I told the bank manager, to make sure he passed this on to the idiots in the fraud department who told me PayPal still accepted gaming transactions.

I am starting to believe that if your not in a state that has legalized online gaming it won't be long till we have everything taken away!

All the best,
LH

Well, they are sort-of right...
PayPal stopped taking gambling related transactions in the USA and most other countries many years ago, as you say - but it still CAN be used for gambling in the UK (and a couple of other EU countries I believe).

But you are 100% right about your bank being idiots!
