Unwanted bonus for no reason

So I was playing a tournament at this MG casino, I got a really good first round but it had a ton of continues and I got knocked out of the top 6 places. I was #7 lol. So with an hour until the tourney ended I decided to deposit $20 to buy a few continues. I bought in a couple times and got in the lead and ended up winning $100.

So I had like $112 or somethiing in the account, played this and that, had it up to $380 at one point and down to $250 when I went to bed last night.

Today I get up and check my mail...they've credited a $10 bonus to my account! I get on chat to have it removed - I've got $250 in the account, why get stuck with a $300 playthrough at this point?

I won't bother posting the whole chat, but basically I'm told that they've 'escalated the query' for me and it will take about an hour, but that I can't play until it's removed otherwise I'm stuck with the playthrough.

Does that suck or what?

Yes, that does qualify as a sucky sitch. I hope they get it figured out soon, and when they do...win tons and tons of money!

If the casino is accredited they had better take care of it. It is one of the standards for being accredited

Must remove any bonus and associated playthrough requirements at the request of the player if play has not commenced

It's been over an hour and it's still there. That's frustrating...Yes, they're accredited, I just PMed the rep.

BAH! I just got an email that says that I've already started wagering on this bonus. That's BS - they put it in my account while I was sleeping and I haven't played anything since!!!!!

Um... that's kinda rogue-isch... I hope you get a response from the rep ASAP.
Would you care to name them ?

Nope I haven't heard and I just sent another message saying to forget it, I'm going to play it. I can't sit here all day fighting with them about it. Who knows, maybe they stuck it in just before I went to bed last night and I didn't notice. I'm pissed off now and I just want to be done with it.

Who knows, maybe I'll win and clear WR. It's seems pretty shitty though.

GL with that, that is a shitty situation. I hope a rep clears it up for you. GL GL GL

That is total BS chayton. They should just flush your account and pay for whatever you won because it was THEIR mistake. You didn't ask for the bonus how dare they give it without consent. They should give you the bonus amount to cashout and keep apologizing for that move. That is unacceptable. I hope you hit a jackpot. I am mad for you just thinking about this situation.

Yes, this sucks.

I agree with the people above.

To sneak in a bonus with WR like this is roguish. I have actually never experienced an unwanted bonus. Some casinos have over the years credited my account with a balance boost without "asking me", but these funds has been without WR.

My opinion is that players need to have the opportunity to accept or decline every bonus. To credit a players account with a "secret" bonus, and only notify by e-mail is bad practice. And especially if your balance is much higher than the bonus.

I think it is quite legitimate for you to tell us the name of the casino. Players should be warned if this is their practice. But you might want to wait until the rep gives you a reply (in case there is a valid explanation).

I think you should PM the rep that you just keep on playing and that he's responsible for the bonus to be removed.

I just can't imagine which accredited MG-casino would do this ?

I just played it. I lost my ass and made playthrough when I had like $50 left. I blew the rest and just shot off an email to them to close my account.

I checked my history and it turns out that they sneaked the bonus in at some point last night while I was playing and I didn't realize it til I got the mail this morning, so yes I guess I'd already been playing on the stupid bonus without realizing.

I have no idea where the bonus came from, I didn't click anything to take a bonus when I deposited. And all the play I had before the bonus mysteriously appeared in my account obviously didn't count toward WR. It totally blows and I'm pissed off at the whole thing.

This is a casino I've been playing at for years too.

WOW...ALL I CAN SAY!!!

I know, that's the thing that sucks. This particular casino though has this bonus issue - if you take a bonus it's usually not credited right away, so while you're playing you're not actually playing any WR on the bonus until it's applied to your account. A lot of times I've already played through my deposit before the bonus is even applied.

But this time I have no idea where this bonus came from. And to wait until I've played over $300 and THEN stick the bonus in my account with WR just pisses me off.

Please name the casino, Chayton. It is a situation that should never happen. Even if and when the rep gets back to you, what happened is wrong and the members here deserve to know who it is so they can make an informed decision if they want to trust and play at this casino.

I really don`t like this practice. At for exampleCentrebet (Playtech), a pop-up will appear if a bonus is credited. The player may accept or decline. So bonuses can not be sneaked in.

I got this response from them:

Cindy the system is not designed to prompt when bonuses are credited whether by us or tournament winnings (which is the $10 that was credited) as it interrupts game play.

We are really sorry to hear you want to close the account with us; in order for us to close the account we require verification information then we can go ahead and close the account for you.

So it appears that somehow I won $10 bonus funds from another tournament..??? And they just happened to put it into my account when I just happened to have enough built up to make the playthrough....lol.

Anyhow whatever....they don't seem to mind losing my custom. Too bad I couldn't have made back some of the money I've pumped in there over the years.

ok so this is what happened. I deposited $20 with no bonus. I won $100 cash in a tournament. I played a couple of other tournaments and I guess that I placed in one and the prize was $10 bonus funds. I was playing along happily when the $10 bonus was credited to my account but I didn't notice it and was playing so then locked myself into WR on a bonus I didn't know I had received.

So hmmm it wasn't an unwanted bonus, it was a tournament win that came in bonus credits. So it wasn't just an arbitrary bonus just to screw me up even though that's what eventually happened.

I can say now that this was Royal Vegas casino, and I'm not naming them to point fingers or get them in trouble. I can understand now what happened, but I did close my account because IMO it was unacceptable to put a bonus into my account while I'm playing without one - no matter where the bonus came from.

Thoughts?

I do not think any casino should ever pull this. If the player did not request a bonus, then the casino should have waited for your cash to be lost or withdrawn. Even a tournament win should be held until they let you know about it, so you can opt to have them hold it or put it in your account.

Adding it without notice is not acceptable, IMO. It is a shame you lost patience and played it out. I would think they should at least give you a little bonus with no requirements for their mistake, since it gave you grief.

I agree that it sucks when a bonus is added without your knowledge, but you won the bonus money playing in a tourney you signed up for, it wasn't like they were trying to sneak in a bonus to impose a WR to you. So maybe the closing of accounts is a bit drastic?

Anyways, sucks that you lost your money trying to make the WR though..

Hmm... This is a difficult one...

You played a tournament and agreed to the tournamentrules, so TECHNICALLY you are responsible for any winnings that came from it. You should have checked when the tourney ended (or just before that) if you were eligible for any prize. If you knew this you'd have made a withdrawal BEFORE the prize was credited.

To be fair i don't really think the casino acted faulty here, although my feeling is tourneyprizes should always be CASH instead of bonusmoney.

The rep could have looked for a solution, but since you've already played out your bankroll i think there is not much more he can do for you.

Just my thoughts...

I agree with you about the tournament prizes. They should be cash and not have a play through requirement.

Yes, I must agree. The case changes when she now informs us that she "won" it in a tournament. The first post said that the bonus was added "unwanted". That is also why I thought this looked roguish. But it does not look roguish now. If a player has participated and won in a tournament, then the player must expect that the prize (the bonus in this case) will be credited to the account (with T&C)

But on the other hand, I think the casino should reconsider how they practice this. It seems unfair for a player to have a bonus-free deposit locked because the casino credited this "bonus-win".

And I still think that every player should have the opportunity to accepct or decline a bonus, also bonus wins from tournaments.

There is 2 casino groups that do this, and due to this factor i have stopped playing with them. One of them has a bonus added on tuesdays, the way it worked was once a week your total amount deposited for that week, you received 20% bonus from them. What got to me was if you made a withdrawal on a wed or thursday, they held the funds in the play area tilll your bonus came through on the following tuesday. So this meant your withdrawal got withheld.
The other set of casinos add a 20% bonus over a 3 day depositing period. I had 1600 withdrawal to put through as they added a 50 bonus.

Yes, I apologize for that, when I first posted I didn't know where this bonus came from. I asked in chat and he didn't answer me. It wasn't until I sent the mail to them to close my account (after I'd already blew through my balance) that they even mentioned a tournament win - at that point I thought that they had given me a bonus on TOP of the $100 cash prize. Even the mail I received didn't say anything about a tournament win - it just said "Great News! Your account has been credited with a bonus." It wasn't until I confirmed that my account be closed that they clarified that the $10 bonus was from winnings from another tournament.

Anyhow I guess it's my own fault, if I wouldn't have been pissed off and playing stupid I might have been able to make playthrough and cash out anyhow.
