TOKWIRO EXPANDS ON ULTIMATEBET STATEMENT (Update)

35 hands affected by Cereus software glitch

The COO of UltimateBet parent Tokwiro Enterprises, Paul Leggett has expanded on his earlier statement following timeous investigations into the incorrect payouts on games at UltimateBet.com over the weekend (see previous InfoPowa reports).

"There is a prevention system in place designed to protect hand results against disconnections," Leggett explained in his statement. "However, after conducting an extensive source code analysis, we found logic in our code that we have enhanced to further ensure this malfunction cannot reoccur.

"We were able to reproduce the error on our testing systems by forcing a hand to disconnect its winning player at the precise millisecond the hand in question was awarding the pot and simultaneously flushing the "player's state" data. Had the disconnection happened literally a millisecond sooner or later the error would not have transpired.

"While enhancing the software to prevent this malfunction from occurring again, we introduced a new defect that caused 36 hands to award incorrect payouts. All players have been reimbursed for these hands as well.

"We have implemented a new method into the code and updated the game servers. Both errors are no longer reproducible. Furthermore, we are conducting extensive tests to simulate every possible disconnection scenario to ensure this type of malfunction cannot occur in the future.

"We are currently reviewing historical hands in our database to see if there ever were similar incidents in the past. Thus far, our investigation has been unable to unearth any additional historical occurrences of this malfunction. Our investigation will continue until we are satisfied that there are no additional historical occurrences.

"We recognize the severity of these issues and we will continue to give them the attention they deserve until we are absolutely certain that they cannot happen again. "

Psychology

The psychology behind this matter is that the players did not exercise caution therefor leaves plenty of room for questioning, were they in fact protected by UB AND AP ?It would explain their relentlessness, seems to me any cheater with half a brain wouldn't go that far unless he was protected.

On the flip side they could of wanted to rake in as much cash quickly as possible and be done with it and cash out before any heat goes to them.By then the wire transfer has already been made and their money in their own pockets.

And for UB and AP to refund players it would cost them money from their own pockets which they will avoid by any means necessary as any company naturally would.By refunding players it makes them look "weak" and admit that cheating is going on in their site.Is paying players the money owed outweigh the losses they will face by not paying players? This is the only question in their minds, damage control!
It would cost them more money to admit cheating was going on and to pay millions owed therefor they are putting up a good fight about it.

One can assume these players were hired by UB and AP but why ?They make enough money off the rake I doubt they hire shills which would cost them money in the long run if the shills expose themselves. The only suspected shills in my opinion is the pretty faces you see on television.

Daniel negreanu or however his last name is spelled is a pure example of a shill,he is a really bad player and gambles most of his hands, but he has a charming personality and provides entertainment. These are the real shills and poker sites do not need to hire super accounts really. It would cost them more money in damage control than it is worth it.

That is my unbiased opinion, don't just join the AP UB bash one has to consider they might be innocent.

They got caught red handed (more than once) and then they admitted it... in writing...

Indeed. UB said they had identified 88 accounts that had been used for cheating. They have failed to make the full list public. They have also still failed to supply HHs to affected players, despite promising so to do.

There are many players playing at absolute and ultimate bet right now. Why on earth they continue play at those sites?
One word... Ignorance.

And the fact that many unethical websites that ONLY care about separating you from your money still promote them to the public.

If you see an advertisement for Absolute Poker or Ultimate Bet on a web site you can bet your bottom dollar the website owner has no Ethics and is most likely a thief themselves.
