UKGC welcomes review of Gambling Act

Click here for our review on the UKGC
(Just in case any other brits here want to have their voice heard to try and balance out the witch hunt a little!)

Someone pointed out today on another forum that the UKGC are accepting input from the public to be considered in the review:

I'll be piping up, that's for sure!
Yes we already have it covered here when the call for evidence first came out. There is a link trail to this from the article linked at the top of the thread. But here it is: Gambling Commission needs your Input

Sigh , will they ever leave us in peace, seemed to remember Casinomeister suggesting that they lighten up a little in 2020,
instead its probably been the worst year ever and 2021 has all the signs of being worse still, ok some people have had problems,
some people always will, surely they can find a middle ground to allow those of us who wish to gamble and are in control
to carry on gambling in peace while still protecting those vulnerable players, identifying them should not be too hard
but the assumption seems to be everyone who gambles has a problem and must be "helped".
I said years ago it was a bad day when the UKGC got involved in online gambling, never realized how bad.

Maybe word gambling should be replaced with something else if willing to make it something 100% safe and child friendly...

No SoW for players who bet 20p and below (and have also been playing safe and sensible since 2003!) Also bring back slam stop on DoA and I'm all happy again :p

One of the dafter rules that the SMF are pushing is a default £100 a month cap on losses with SoW checks for people that want to increase that. That limits people to about £23 a week or so.

Obviously we should protect problem gamblers and perhaps a more sensible limit wouldn't be the end of the world, but this is the equivalent of saying that pubs can only serve people one pint of beer unless they prove they're not an alcoholic.

I still think an option on Gamstop should be to provide a low stake alternative or allow sign up on low stake limits to casinos. It will train people in playing responsibly and controlled...Works in player and casinos favour. You can to a degree train the behaviour.

Instead theres no control and rogues galore...and they can't do anything about rogue unlicensed sites.

I would ask they make withdrawals as quick and easy as deposits, or at least within set time limits depending on the sum, anticipating delays in days before I receive winnings doesn't help me gamble responsibly.

having played a few slots at unibet the other day, and will hill last week, I'd say the 3 sec rule per spin has not been handled very well, and basically whatever the ukgc seems to do, ***ks everything up, we still have gambling addiction issues in the uk but now with everything else crap added on, to make the experience even worse and unenjoyable.

I guess we will have 2 ways to play soon, 1 Bitcoin casinos, 2. Know somebody in another country who can setup a remote desktop connection to their computer with TeamViewer or RDP and we can play through their PC.
