U.S. government enjoys seized funds.

They take MY Money... Without Due Process.

I can't file a Legal Complaint, I can't go to court to get my money back and I can't sue the DOJ.

And now I am supposed to pay them taxes...

Are they above the law?

Our MP's thought they were, but the judges taught them differently, and a couple of them recently got jailed for fraud for cheating on their expenses.

It just needs someone powerful enough, and with the confidence needed, to take them on. Obviously, they will crush the ordinary citizen, but the government was forced to give in the the demands of the bankers, because the bankers said "save us, or the economy will collapse beyond repair". It was a game of chicken, and only one big bank had it's bluff called, and went bust.

Thanks for the link.

I'm glad people are commenting on the actual website where it can be read by the people in the pictures. Throw the word terrorism in any government sting operation and it's all good.

If there handing out siezed funds , where is our money at???

Well now a portion of yours is hanging out in that wad in the middle scallywags coat. Mine bought some tear gas to prepare for the gamblers riot.

As for why porn is alive and well, the feds already own it and it's a lucrative business.

Afterall, they got to keep up with the times and innovations of WMD's and this cost big bucks.

When the feds finally take over the online casino business, as soon as the competition is eliminated, then all will be good again and we can all go back to our normal secure and freedom filled lifestyles.

 Vent

This police "seizure" law goes back to the late 80's, war on drugs.
They got around the Constitution by making these type of seizures legal.
all a cop in the US has to do is find a large amount of cash on someone and say "OH this must be illegal", no arrestes have to be made and there are NO court dates set for a Judge to hear the case. The then money disappears into the legal system, that same system then gets to 'hand' out their ill gotten gains any way they see fit... And no way for the person who had the money take from in the first place to defend themselves or any way for them to get their money back.

Oh and so far in 20+ years only a small hand full of people have ever even been given their day in court to defend the fact they had a 'large' amount of cash on their person and they had to prove they were not Guilty and provide a reasonable explanation as to why they had cash on them. All this is in a FREE country... Pass the Apple Pie...

Feds’ Poker Ban Called Assault on Internet Freedom
The U.S. Department of Justice’s shutdown of three foreign-based online poker websites “has made a
mockery of America’s stated commitment to Internet freedom.”
That’s the view of the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), an organization dedicated to “free
markets and limited government.”
On April 15, the DOJ seized the domain names of the three major poker sites, a move that affected
online gambling operations in countries where Internet poker is lawful and the U.S. government has no
jurisdiction.
The Poker Star site is registered in the Isle of Man, Full Tilt Poker in Ireland, and Absolute Poker in
Antigua. But the U.S. government could unilaterally seize their domain names, shutting down access,
because the three end in “.com.” All such domains are registered in the United States and subject to
some American laws.
“Federal agents obtained a court order that compelled Verisign, the operator of the .com registry, to
reroute the poker sites’ domain names to a government page featuring intimidating federal logos
notifying users of the seizure,” the CEI reported.
Therefore “no computer in the world, even those in countries where poker is explicitly legal, could
access the poker sites via their domain names.”
The DOJ has agreed to unfreeze the domains for Poker Stars and Full Tilt to allow players to cash out
their accounts and foreign players to gamble on the sites. But Absolute Poker is considering
challenging the American government’s move before the World Trade Organization.
“It is deeply troubling that the United States, a country that purports to value individual freedom, has so
miserably failed to it protect it when it comes to politically incorrect pursuits like online gambling,” the
CEI concludes.
“The DOJ’s heavy-handed tactics should outrage anybody who values freedom and individual rights.”

What a bunch of crap. They get new equipment (in these touch economic times) by taking the money of thousands of people , who, with their little gambling wins would have probably poured it back in to the economy in their own "jurisdiction". I certainly hope they are proud of themselves as the average "joe blow down the street" gets screwed by the government yet again:mad:

Yeah... I love this part....

“Illegal gambling proceeds are forfeited to the government,” spokeswoman Vickie E. LeDuc said. “Anyone who believes that an Internet gambling business owes them money can try to collect from the Internet gambling business. The government is not going to give the money to gamblers.”

Just reading that... I hear something like a 'sneer' there... I do believe Ms Vickie Fancyname looks down her nose at us.... I guess gamblers are second class citizens and don't really matter.

ironic isn't it

that they take the photo inside a casino [nit wits ] i bet not a penny to go for starving children

there all fkd up rc

This can't be right. Do we have definitive proof that we will not get refunded?

I ask because it isn't just gamblers that use QT.

What about an American Affiliate that promotes poker to Europeans? If they are paid commission via QT then there is no gambling from that person. I am having a hard time thinking that this is just the end of it and the money is *poof* up in smoke. Gone. Not regainable by at least affiliates.
