I found this place today, very niche site as it advertises itself as the world's only "gay" casino. Thought it was an interesting concept.

    tomscasino.com/en/

Appears to be run under the MT Secure Trade license (same as GUTS, Rizk, BetSpin etc), so it absolutely seems reliable. Sign-up bonus isn't too bad either. Although I didn't get the bonus credited to my account after my first deposit just now, but I'm sure the support will sort it out in the morning.

One thing that caught my eye, though, is that during sign-up you're not asked which gender you are, but rather your "gender identity". Shouldn't this technically cause some issues with the whole KYC process? If you enter your gender and it doesn't match your "legal" gender, how do they handle those situations? Do casinos in general have special KYC processes for transgender players?

I really hope people are cognizant of the many gay and lesbian members here in the forum before posting anything possibly derogatory.

Anyway, interesting concept I guess as there's always niche markets, though personally, don't see the need for it as it's an online casino and you play from the comfort of your own home where you can be youself. But hey, everyone's free to promote their product as they see fit, and if the operators want to express gay-fiendly environs, so be it...and I suppose, eventually, someone would have done it.

As to owned by GUTS (Gig) are you sure they arent simply operating under the MT Secure Trade license but independently owned?

As to KYC, I don't suppose it much matters what gender identity you assocoaite with as you'd still require ID matching your sign-up name, address etc and offers trans-persons a leap forward and honours them in ways the world often doesn't.

to add: TOM’s Casino, a product of Lunas Entertainment Ltd

    re -
iGaming Cloud partners with Lunas Entertainment
    30 November 2015

Gaming Innovation Group Inc. (GIG) has signed an agreement with Lunas Entertainment Limited to launch their two new casino brand onto GIG's iGaming Cloud (You must register/login in order to see the link.) platform service in Q1 2016.

iGamingCloud was launched in February and this is the eight iGC agreement entered into. The combined annual contribution from the agreements signed so far adds up to around EUR 3.3 million.

Lunas states: "We are looking forward to work with the best back end solution in the market - as our extensive research gave best score for iGamingCloud's platform. With iGC we can focus more on our core business while iGC handles a lot of tasks that with other solutions we had to handle ourselves. iGC also has superb connections in the industry enabling us to
launch globally through their network and partners."

Robin Reed, GIG CEO comments: "We are excited to have Lunas launching their 2 casino brands using the IGC API integration in Q1 2016. At IGC we offer the flexibility to the partner to build the brand using their own team via the API's or using our own in house developers to create a unique casino and Sportsbook offering.".

iGC is a client management platform offering the full spectrum of services for an iGaming operator with potential to be a game changer for the wider community of the iGaming industry as its two core functions are to eliminate technological bottlenecks and significantly reduce costs for operators and white labels alike.

Ah, yeah, I meant that they were operating under the same license as GUTS and the others, not necessarily run by the same people. My mistake, been a long day. :)

Flipping through the site, it's a bit..on the nose. While it may forward trans rights, with the in-your-face sexual innuendoes and sub-culture references it puts back gay rights about 30 years lol. But then, it doesn't hide ot white-wash its goals either I suppose.

It shouldn't if management know what they are doing by entering such a niche market. It should be obvious that one's legal gender would not necessarily be the same as what they ask for in the sign-up process, so they should not be putting players through KYC hell just because they have identified themselves as "female", but they are legally "male" when it comes to their official documentation. They should also realise that trans people will often start using a different name to suit their gender identity, but may not necessarily have this choice legally recognised, so official documents could have a first name discrepancy. They would also need to make it absolutely clear to players whether they are asking for their legal name or gender, or the ones they identify with.

Given that we have pornhub casino, this would not be the first time we have had the "unholy" mix of sexual content and gambling on one site, which has been a taboo in the industry for a long while.

It could do rather well if it manages to get it right, as most casinos WILL create a dilemma for trans people due to the requirements of KYC, always having to use one's legal name and gender in order to avoid running foul of strict KYC rules and possibly not getting paid.

If a none gay/lesbo or trans person set up this site I would presume they would be castigated for stereotyping gay men. It looks like something Freddie Mercury would have approved of in the mid 80's. No sign of any females or trans gender folk anywhere in the site. But its their call

agreed (well, minus the use of lesbo) - though i don't think it's geared toward lesbians, nor trans persons really for that matter, but rather a gay sub-sect. The 'about' sections illustrate more toward gay homoerotic art and well, fetishists and those as wear homosexuality as badges....which, i'd think, is catering to a very small niche market and ultimately limiting their audience. i wouldn't think they'd much garner a large following as they're also effectiviely offending a large portion of their target audience - the gay community as a whole, unless they really are only targeting that minute section of it...which seems rather silly as gay/lesbian persons have the largest disposable incomes going.

My use of the word lesbo and you pointing it out does highlight how easy it is to appear un PC or even bigoted without actually being so! I would have thought all online casino's would prefer to be all inclusive or at least when hitting on a theme to be inclusive to all those related to their particular genre. This site seems too exclusive to be able to thrive.
It can't be very busy at the moment because their "latest winners" has been flashing up as been Mark S's three wins ( one being £4 ) for the past 20 minutes.
Its so niche that it almost appears slightly dodgy

Again, agreed - some of the more colourful (ie nudge nudge wink wink) copy almost takes away from some of the professionalism as it lowers it to the lowest common denominator. It bring PornHub to mind.
Sure, it appeals to a faction - but I'd think they'd want to appeal to a broader base. Boasting 'world's only gay casino' it really is, as you say near exclusive, as it's fractioning the gay community to a slice and missing the bigger audience. A miss and a missed opportunity.

I assure you I have not looked in yet again to check out the packages on offer but to check the progress of the latest winner section. Mark seems still to be the latest winner with his huge £4 booty. Not the busiest of casino's

    It's not what it seems:-

The pictures are all works from the collection of Touko Laaksonen, and they were deliberate exaggerations of masculine and sexual traits, and in 1957, near the end of a time when homosexuality was illegal in the UK, and a number of well known figures, such as Oscar Wilde, served time for being gay.

You must register/login in order to see the link.

This has left the casino really appearing to target gay men, and those who admire the very masculine traits. It does not seem to market at all to transgender, lesbians, or the more feminine gay male. This means there is still a significant part of the market that might not see the appeal in this particular casino, but it may well herald a wave of operators who would better target other sectors, such as transgender, lesbians, etc. It would just need a different theme and back story for the website, and it could even be done using a white label approach, with the various sites all using the Tom's casino platform, licence, and staff.

The art reminds me of James Dean. Fair play to the artist for being so progressive. So you suspect that they are possibly gearing up to use their platform for other niche marketed casino's?
I get the impression that the online casino market is already too saturated given the fact that established casino's such as Tivoli have folded recently.

WLike you would feel any better giving your money to a site that is aimed towards gays, straight, gay or bi why does it matter, all casinos end up bumming you in the end, so i would say they all are open to all types of people.

    ;)
