I just spent 2 hours trying to edit a GIF File that was to replace my longstanding and only avatar I have ever had since joining the Forum 3 years ago.

Admittedly, the absolute passion I had for her music was, for a man of my age, a bit gay. No, that doesn't explain it. You see when I joined Casinomeister, Taylor Swift was gearing up for her "Speak Now World Tour." Me and the other half held excellent seats on the field at Coyboys Stadium so we could scream along with 60,000 other Swifties to great tunes like: Mean, Back to December, Fifteen, Sparks Fly, White Horse, The Story of Us, and countless others.

This talented young girl, only 20 years old, had made me passionate for music. . .NEW MUSIC . . .for the first time in 15 - 20 years. I had given up. I never listened to the radio, only the staples in my RECORD collection I have been amassing since childhood. The stuff I knew I liked--not the rap and other assorted dribble on the air now days.

It was her incredible lyrics combined with brilliant arrangements and vocal styling that were uniquely suited to her admittedly whiny and pitchy voice at times. The music--to me--was phenomenal.

I knew all along should couldn't stick to country which is fine because I'm hardly into country but I was in to her country.

Then in 2012, Red came out. As I expected it was inferior to Fearless and Speak Now but still has many good tracks and a couple of great ones. It's pretty hard to follow back to back albums like Fearless and Speak Now. Her debut album, Taylor Swift from 2006 was also excellent.

But now she's gone completely pop. I guess I get it but I don't get INTOit.

In case you haven't heard the next album entitled 1989 is her "official first pop album":what:

Here is the first single. Catchy--perhaps. Am I looking forward to hearing the rest of the album due in late October? No. For the curious: You must register/login in order to see the link.

Well, I don't know how to edit a Gif but I'll figure it out soon. At last, my Avatar will be perhaps more fitting to a person of my gender and age.

As for Taylor going pop, I guess I'll just "Shake It Off."

    Operation Remove Taylor S Complete!

I decided to go with this pic I took of my beloved Mickey at age 4.5 weeks. I lost him last October at age 12. I miss him.

I hope you meant this thread to be funny, because I found it hilarious!

Ironically, it was your lyrical break up ode to the woman who made break up songs her signature.

And if it gives you any comfort, I saw an interview with her whereby she mentioned that above video was all a bit of a pisstake, and not a serious representation of herself.

There still maybe hope for you both, although at this stage it sounds like the two of you are never ever ever, getting back together.

Thanks for reading and watching. . .

I'm down to two dogs. One black pug named Presley who will be 15 in October and the other was Mickey's best friend, Mutt who belonged to my mother the first year of his life. The others, Gus, another Pug, and Mojo a big gray alley cat, have gone to the Rainbow Bridge.

You know I just reread what you posted and started to think about "good music" and how you lost it in your life. I have to agree with you there.

When i became a mom, every one gives you advice and warns you on what to expect and how to do this and that. The one thing they never tell you is "the Music".

I swear to my God that they can take the children s music and use it to torture prisoners of war. Screw water boarding kids music hurts more.

Think about it - I was already in a sleep deprivation mode. I mean getting 2 hours sleep was like vacationing in Hawaii at one point. Then the helpful friends and other parents with a smile on there face give you a CD and say " oh play this for the baby it will help" as they hand that Cd to you -I picture them running out of the house screaming I'm free I'm free waving there arms in the air. She fell for it.

And then it starts: The Wheel on the bus goes round and round --- OMG please someone drive that dam bus over a cliff. Then we have Barney. I love you you love me -- NO NO NO don't love me - I don't love you-- But then my child did and I had to listen to Barney and walk around like a zombie living in my own little hell while he listened to it. Ah but the best is yet to come -- DORA-- my god I say the name and the stabbing pain in my head starts. I'm Dora Dora The Explorer -- let's make it even worse for parents make her voice high pitched and add in some Spanish. Kill me now.

Then they kids start to grow and you think Thank God -- NO NO NO there is no God, because then you get Miley Cyrus -- the Hanson Brothers and then The Jonas Brothers as well. I swear when you think a song from the Jonas Bros. sounds like Pavarotti singing Ave Maria you know you need to be committed.

Then the kids grow up more and discover satellite radio.. Ah peace at last-- until Cello Green decides to sing the FU song-- did i tell you satellite radio does not edit. Nothing was more enjoyable then having a car full of 6th grade boys, and that song pops on. Panic spreads throughout your body as you try to find the button on the radio that i swear has moved all the way to the other side of the dash board. That night I got 4 phone calls from parents wanting to let me know that their children don't listen to that kind of music. I wanted to change my answering machine to his song, but hubby wouldn't let me.

Ah the the moment of truth my daughter looks at me and says mom will you buy me a CD. My body freezes up at the thought of WHAT DOES SHE WANT? Then the moment I loved her more then life itself -- Imagination Dragons. I hug her uncontrollably in the store. As I'm leaving the music isle, I see a young couple with a newborn child looking at kids music. I walked up to them and said the wheels on the bus CD works great with baby's. I smiled and walked away.

    Classic!

This is why all kids should be raised listening only to adult music from the 50's to the 70's covering a healthy mix of all genres. Not only will they get the best musical education known to human kind, but they will grow to appreciate real music and make informed decisions.

It will also save their mothers from a nervous breakdown by age 40.

I also recommend early Looney Tunes cartoons for a solid and clean sense of humor once they reach adulthood. This way, even if they make poor music choices, they can make their depressed mothers laugh again.

    I missed this this morning.

That is GREAT! I saw the same interview and I get Taylor. She's truly a musical genius. I doesn't matter whether you like her stuff or not--she's already written more great songs IMO than most people with a lifetime in the music business. You have to be born with that kind of talent.

At least she's keeping it clean--something truly unique to pop music these days. With her kind of talent (song writing talent) she has to test the waters. While it won't likely be anything I want to listen to more than once or twice I think she will . . . .eventually come back to the fold.

When she does, I'll once again illegally download her stuff an listen regularly!
