I'm getting serious about refining my slot play and I only just fully realized that it's possible to tilt on slots.

Today, I was playing slots in a B&M place and I put $10 into a machine and after 10 dead spins I realized that the bet multiplier was set to 5x20c making my bets $1 each when I only intended 20c.
This got me tilted and I put in more and continued to bet $1 until I came to my senses at which stage I lost around $50.

It seems making mistakes while playing gets me on tilt. I made a note for myself in hopes to avoid this mistake in the future:
The bigger mistake is continuing on betting.

At the end of the day, I think the only danger in slots is getting tilted.
I'm not sure if it's possible to avoid tilting completely because there are new situations arising constantly.

I actually find it quite easy to tilt on slots.

It happens when I get about 10 bonuses and all them pay nothing. Its like whats the point.

Or bonanza the biggest tilter of them all. 2000-8000 spins for a bonus and it pays 5x. Then keep playing 800 spins more another bonus and it pays 15x. It can really get me steaming.

I find I don't have that problem. I'm pretty sure it's because my bet size is so small in comparison to what I can afford.
I take the view that it's the cost for entertainment and I can write off the losses that way.
Losing around $20-$30 for a couple of hours worth of entertainment is fair I think.

I think for me its because of my betsize. For example the other night I was play $2.10-$3 on immortal romance. So as usual the base game was taking and you hope the bonus will help you out. I actually got at least 7 bonuses in a fair amount of time. But all of them paid under 15x. How I could have 7 bonuses on that slot in a couple hundred spins only and still be done was very tilting. A bonus was dropping in every 20-30 spins.

That put me on tilt. And it always makes me think I should just stick to .90 bets because you need to grind through a while pile of bad bonuses to hit that good one. And by the time you do on $3 bet youve lost so much in base game none of it matters

This thread is kind of related about something I've been thinking about lately: gambling problems.
I suspect we all have a "gambling problem" as learning how to fully control yourself while playing slots is very complex.

The usual advice for people with gambling problems is to stop playing and seek help.
There's a 2nd option; understanding why you lose control
I think there's something to be gained from understanding why this happens.
