This is my home country...

I believe the scenery is very beautiful - currently planning a trip to check out the Northern Lights either later this year or early next. Any thoughts on the best time to be there?

The best time to observe this magic is between November and February, and avoid full moon to get the best value. I can recommend travelling on something called "hurtigruten", its a cruiseship that travels between Bergen (SW i norway) to Kirkenes (up north, where the good stuff is).

Thanks - Hurtigruten are the people I'm dealing with on this at present and they seem very organised - they can even arrange land travel from Oslo to Bergen.

To make the trip shorter and cheaper -book a flight from Oslo to Bodø instead, right into northern lights territory. The cruice is slow, using 7 days each way from south to north and visa versa.

Oh, forgot to mention this: Be aware of the Trolls :D

Hilarious video. One of my Norwegian online friends, I always ask "what's for dinner". While it is not always fish and potatoes, it often is. And it is always potatoes. She leaves chat whenever skiing is on TV.

I've been lucky enough to catch the Northern Lights in our far north (Yellowknife) twice. It is an incredibly moving experience to see them overhead, not some distant colour near the horizon. First time was curtains of green in late May, very unusual for that time of year, and the other time were white and for hours in August on a drive home with a sunroof.

Just the memories have me tearing up.

Now that's how you make a promo video for your Country!
Who wouldn't wanna go there after watching that?!

Seriously, i agree with most comments! absolutely hilarious, and yet so dry:)
Loved the bit about the oil especially, but the whole thing is great, and almost made me regret not being born there...:p
