When the movie came out on DVD I was going to watch it, but I heard that it's pretty bleak and I'm not really in that kind of mood lately. But the book won a Pulitzer Prize so I picked that up and I'm almost finished it....it's written a little differently than I expected so it was a little hard to get into at first, but now that I'm used to the fact that the dialogue is strange and the main characters don't really have (or use) names. But the story....sad, hopeless, bleak, depressing, scary, sickening....I keep reading because I hope something good will happen but I know it won't. But it's a very thought-provoking story anyhow and I'm glad I'm reading it.

I'm curious if anyone has read it or seen the movie and if you did, what did you think of it? I'm going to finish tonight so you don't have to worry about spoiling the end. ;)

Hello Chayton,

I didn't read the book, but saw the movie before some months on bluray. It was amazing to my opinion/taste, very very dark and bloomy scenes (notice that the whole movie picture is covered with bleak and depressive colors til the end).

The story is wonderful and dramatic. At the end my wife was crying for minutes lol. I'm not going to tell you how it ends, i believe you must see it at your self :)

I rate the movie 9/10 . Very silent, calm movie, a lot of pain, emotionally, dark and depressive. Exactly my taste :p

Well I finished the book last night and when I was done I felt like someone punched me in the gut...

One day I want to see the movie too, just not right away. I think I need to heal up from the book first.

Interesting though - we just rewatched the Lord of the Rings trilogy (after the release of the game I had to see it again!) and that movie has so much hope and positivity, when it's over you just feel good. Viggo plays the lead character in The Road and it's completely opposite - well it is if it's like the book anyhow.
