So... What is it?

What would be the perfect slot machine?

Obviously "one that pays you loads of money" is the ideal :))), but I'm talking about reality - stuff that could actually be made and put in the casino's we know and love!!

* How many lines would you want?
* What sort of features would you want to see?
* What coin denominations?
* What sort of paybacks and symbol frequencys?
* How MANY features?? Simple like the Ladies Nite's et al, or What on Earth style complicated?
* Is an 'intro movie' important
* Would it be a progressive??

All these questions and variations... I've got my own ideas, but I'd love to see what everyone else thinks. If there's enough feedback, I intend to put together an idea for the ultimate 'players' slot machine!

You guys are the one's that know and love them the best, so your ideas and opinions are appreciated! Cheers!

Okay here's some starters :)

  • The chunkified "heavy" feel of Thunderstruck
  • The 20 Free Spins at 6x of Isis
  • Lose the crap payouts on 2 9's to make for better features
  • A "hold" facility
  • 3 Scatters to trigger the bonus, appearing anywhere and not on specific reels
  • No other type of bonus round to get in he way

What you said except that I'd add that the ultimate slot MUST be re-triggable during the bonus round. Loaded is a great game except for this major flaw.

Nudge? My Arse

I have never seen this feature on a random slot game. It's probably the oldest feature on UK "Amusement Without Prizes" slots (apart from "hold" of course Simmo). Takes me back to the 70's 2p Bell Fruits - "nudge now" sigh. You never knew how many nudges you had but they'd stop just as that 3rd bar was about to drop in. :lolup:

Hmmm... "hold" is an interesting one, on the video slots that'd be mad! Nice one... Keep 'em coming! Hoping to put all the ideas together and come up with the ultimate, but workable, slot!!

Something along the lines of Loaded and Ladies Nite....

* Been mentioned already, but free spin re-triggers is a must
* Top quality sound effects
* Reels spinning not too slowly, but also not too quickly (just like Loaded)
* Very sharp, colourful graphics
* Smooth gameplay
* Coin-based
* Being able to resize the slot (applies in Flash versions) in the download version
* Mystery win with the Scatters
* Jackpot REPEATER

:)

:eek: You mean you actually *like* the coin displays rather than the currency display? Yay! Found someone :D

Yeh, I quite like it. Must be something to do with the fact that I have always had quite an interest in numbers and mental arithmetic.

OK..in that case Slotster I'd add

  • Should give the user the option of "currency" or coin values on wagers and wins

I would just like someone to make a video slot game that takes advantage of sound and graphics capability of the modern pc.

Maybe give the option of turning off features for those with less capable machines (like computer game makers do).

Mine would have 15 lines . A 15 spin bonus round and a 5x or 10 x symbol amoungst the reels that shows up now and then to give you a BAM .

15 liner
3 scatter for free spins
wild multiplier
and the golden goose popping up but with that damn quacker who walks across the screen:D

15 Lines
10 free spin bonus round triggered by 3 scatters on any payline which can be retriggered on a progressive basis. For example once the bonus round has started you would be awarded additional free spins by hitting one scatter, let's say 10 additional spins. If you do not get 2 scatters in the remaining spins your bonus round would end, however if you get 2 scatters you would be awarded 20 additional free spins. Hit 3 scatters during these spins and win an additional 30 spins, etc, etc up through all 5 scatters.
2X Wild

May not be feasible, but hey I would like to give this type of slot a play. How great would it be to get lucky and rack up some really high free spin numbers while a slot is paying..............:cool:

That's an interesting idea. Providing of course that they don't go down the usual gaming industry route of requiring users to upgrade their hardware to play. Actually, they wouldn't - it wouldn't be economically sensible.

An example might be on the Harvey's bonus round. On a slow PC, waiting for the fizz to fill the screen, reveal the free spins etc, can be very tedious. I do see though that they speeded up coin counts on Kathmandu and others at the last update.

First of all I wish MG would stop releasing the same game base with different pictures and calling it a new game, it's not really new, the hit frequencys don't change and the returns really don't change.

I think MG is working on this idea (scatter spin games)... the 3 most popular video slot themes in land based casinos right now are:
Cleopatra (9 & 20 line video slot 3X scatters = 15 spins @ triple pay, retriggers available, al'a Thunderstuck)
Money Storm and Catch A Wave (20 & 15 line video slot 3X 4X or 5X tornados/waves on a played line left to right awards 3, 10, 15 scatter spins (all wins during bonus spins are scatter pays) and scattered tornados/waves retrigger the free spins).

The games with scatter spins would be the biggest hit ever at an online casino, whoever gets this type of game out first will be so rich they wouldn't be able to count they money they make on it. Most land based casinos offer these two games in multi denom penny, 2 cent 5 cent etc with a max bet of 20 coins per line and accoring to the casino people I'm in contact with they have to empty the BV's 2 to 3 times a day.

I'd like the option to play Thunderstruck with 20 or 25 paylines.

Just a thought, I live eat and breath real casino video slots for a part time living, after awhile they all start to look the same.

Edit:
Before I forget, on the hold feature, there's an indian casino near here that slots have to be based on a game of skill. They did this by taking the regular 3 reel slot themes and converting them to 3 reel video single payline games. Each game consists of 2 spins, your first spin plays once the 3 reels stop you have to option to lock 0, 1, 2 or all 3 reels if a win combination is present. Then you have to respin the reels to see if you can create a winning combination or to complete the game and get your line pay, it's called lock and roll.

It's really interesting and VERY addictive, this place is always packed. Another thing I like it the paytable is for 1 coin pays but you can bet up to 100 coins on the payline to multiply those wins up to 100X. So if 3 5X symbols pays 2000 credits then if you're betting 10 you get paid 20,000 credits or bet 100 and get paid 200,000 credits.

Microgaming should check into this for the lagging 3 reel slot revenues, makes players think they're getting a little more bang for the buck and gives the illusion that they actually have an effect on the outcome of the game.

Ok hopping off the wishlist box now :D
