It ain’t the rich kids who go out and fight these wars. It’s the kids with no money who enlist because the military offers them a way out by offering education , jobs etc. Poverty in the USA.

Personally pretty up with Middle Eastern conflict due to past careers and interest, this man was a barbarian and terrorist with the deaths of tens if not hundreds of thousands to his name.
His termination was justified.
Not just due to the last escalation, but years and years of abuse and murder and torture in the Middle East.
A shit stain that is no more.

The Major General was no "butcher" or "barbarian". He was a decent, honourable and courageous man who dedicated his life to his country, latterly greatly assissting in the fight against ISIS in the region, along with Iraqi government forces/militias and the volunteers from various Iranian/Lebanese/Russian/Syrian militias.
I put it to you that you know nothing more about him or, for that matter, Iran itself, apart from the jingoistic, warmongering and vapid propaganda served up to you on an hourly basis courtesy of the UK/US media, all owned by billionaire tories/Republicans.
Oh - and no, his MURDER was NOT justified - and it WILL be avenged. Rightly so, too.

I think the plan was to rally the American people to the flag. Patriotism and all that...and of course to distract from what’s happening at home...but we don’t want war.

You have to remember though that a lot of people won't be clued up on politics on this forum. They will see things as black and white rather than understanding the context or political shenanigans that lie beneath the basic public front.

I can understand for some people the perceived prospect of a 'war' would be scary, especially as they are not aware it's essentially all posturing.
