My answer in a recent thread by johnsteed got me thinking about this and i would love to hear other peoples experiences ( if not too embarassed  )

Which loss can you just not forget? the one that makes you really mad:mad:

Mine is way back in my early days of online casino's
I had received a no deposit $10 bonus and stuck it all on 2 numbers on roulette, which came in. Then i raised my bets and hit a lucky streak and within about 10 mins had nearly $1000
At the time this was my biggest online casino win my far and i was really chuffed.
All off a free bonus, i thought i was blessed or something!
I stopped for a while and got a drink and thinking i was on a roll figured i would try out some slots with a $100 or so before cashing out....
You guessed it.....i blew the lot!

Now this isnt my biggest gambling loss, and technically speaking i didnt lose any of my own money....BUT this was my 1st big casino win and for about 20 mins i was over the moon, and to top it off i lost it playing slots and at the time i never played them ever!
I was angry for days and it still grates on me even now when i think about it.

I am sure we all have some similar stories, and i would like to hear a few if you can bring yourselves to tell

Biggest loss, land based casino. Went in with $300, won a total of $4,500 on multiple slots

Next day went back and came home with $800

My mental health!! Definetly...

But thats just me... I was such a compulsive gambler, I recall spending 48 hours in a row on a black jack table with nothing more than some rum and coke with my pack of Marlboros... I would get home and dream only about 20's been beat by Black Jacks...1000s in a row

Or amazing Paigow hands always beaten by Flush with pair of Aces....

Gambling really fucked me up

....wait a minute... where those dreams?? or actually happened??

Interesting concept. My largest single hand loss is pictured in the attachment. While playing at Slots Royale, I drew a pair of 8s on a 4. I split and drew another pair of 8s. I split again. I drew 11 on the first hand. I considered doubling, but decided against it, as this already was a $525 hand. My largest cummulative loss was at Virtual casino where I busted on two sign up bonuses.

However, these aren't the losses I regret the most, as all had a positive expected return. The loss wasn't caused by my error. What I regret most was trying to win back a loss on the weekly bonus at Villento and more than doubling the size of the loss, losing several hundred, in the process. I did not play with any bonuses or promotions, so the games had a negative expected return. I won't chase losses like this again.

losing 2x 200 euro deposits sitckying the trident and neptune signups, within a half hour. 600 bucks gandhi!

and, after completing wr for vc 250 gbp bonus and waiting for it to hit my account, blew my remaining balance of 240 gbp just cuz i had nothing to do. 500 smackeroos down the drain!

oh but the worst ever, i played my balance down to 1.50 at nine casino, talked to live chat and they said i had met the wr so yes i could get my bonus. i asked if it was cashable instantly, and they said "you want to deposit 300 and then withdraw 300, kind of silly isn't it?" clever buggers, needless to say i blew the entire 301.50.

that'll teach me to bet more than 10 bucks a hand ever!

I was late and in a hurry, I had one fifty dollar chip left in my pocket. I was walking out the door of the casino when I saw the Crap table (it used to sit right next to the main Casino door)... There was this really really old guy that just kept rolling numbers.... So I laid the $50 Chip on the pass line, just to get rid of it...

To make a long story short, in about an hour I (and the old guy tossing numbers like crazy) had turned that $50 into over $5500... then... Craps!

Man I hate when that happens. I missed the very important meeting I had and not only lost the $50 and $5500 but I also lost a very big business deal as well...

But on the bright side, the old guy that was rolling numbers at the crap table felt sorry for me (I think it was the abundance of tears and seeing a grown man whimpering like a baby that got to him) and he taught me a simple and very effective method of playing craps that is truly brilliant and wins way more than it loses... It even pays for all my trips to Jackpot, Vegas and Alantic City.

This year I've done some dough, some really stupid things $7K through my finger on BJ (I don't play BJ as a rule) I hit a really good streak, which was followed by a really bad one... Same ol same old, only another $200, next thing I did my b#lls.

4K over at River Belle...Since then hardly ever play there. Can't seem to shake that 'I'm a BIG Knob' feeling.

Lotso, WHAAAAT? Youre gonna leave it at that and not tell us what the tip is? LOL

I regret going to our local Indian land based casino in the morning. Ive never hit anything before 100pm. I lost $200 one morning and it hurt. No more.

Online, it was not stopping during a losing streak playing War at one our better casinos. Another $200, Pfft! I have to go with my gut....when I dont, I usually get killed. When I listen, I have fun!):)

No one individual loss stands out. But there is a theme and might explain my obsession with reverse Withdrawal ;) I used to get annoyed about any reverse's I did. It was psychological. I used to think "okay I've got $500 due to me" following a cashout. Then within 12 hours I'd reversed it in a moment of boredom and lost of course.

Every time I did that originally I used to feel so p*ssed off I used to delete all the casinos off my PC - lol. Thankfully now all the casinos I play do (or have agreed to) give me a 1 hour or 0 hour reverse time - I still lose, but I'm a lot happier :D

Maybe one day I'll make it public, but after that no one would be able to use it, because the casinos would just close the hole once they figured it out... ;)

I remember a while back some lady did 45K GBP @ Will Hill (if my memory serves me correctly) in one month...Unfortunately she had bi-polar and had not taken her medication. Well least that's what the post was about.

Maybe CM or someone here can make reference to it.

That 45K GBP was in deposits, not sure how much was really involved, as in adding winnings on top of the 45K.

Which loss can you just not forget? the one that makes you really mad:mad:

The one that got me addicted to slots.... I did one of those "play with $500 keep your winnings up to $200" bonuses and ended up cashing out $1000. Then I proceeded to overdraw my bank account a few hundred, expecting the $1000 to be on the way, except when the $1000 hit my neteller account I blew it all because I couldn't withdraw it yet. So I was left with a negative bank account balance that took a while to recover from.

I'm not sure why this loss made me want to continue this evil hobby, but somehow it did and I am down a maybe $3-4k total over my gambling 'career'. I have wagered well over $200k on slots, probably closer to $300k or $400k, so I guess technically I am still doing better than the $15k-$20k I should have lost (at a 95% return rate). So I'm about as happy as I could be in this situation.

Two things I tell myself to ease the pain:

1. You can't win if you don't try.
2. At least I gave myself a chance.

If I hit a win of ~$10k I am 99% confident I would be able to quit gambling knowing I came out ahead.

For me, it's always the last loss that is the toughest. Unfortunately there are many "last losses" this year. I've probably dropped around 12K in '06. You know how it is though guys, the next one is going to hit the BIG one!! HAHA!

This one sounds like BS even when I tell it myself but I swear this actualy happened to me many years back;

I got my first pay packet in a new job and naturally headed off to the casino with it (Albion Manchester).I travelled the 12 miles by taxi as I had no car.My wage was a little under 100 but I am going back more than 20 Years. I played roulette and got to 450 up before deciding to cash out and trying 20 on the fruit machine....and then ,that lost, just a last 30 on roulette and then...anyway I ended up just backing 8 and all the splits cos it hadnt come in (2 on the nose 2 on the splits 10) obviously I lost everything but felt compelled to watch the next spin because I just knew it would come up 8 and it did, twice! (I always doubled up on winning bets)=618 missed by 1 spin.
But the best part is that I had neglected to save any money for the taxi home and I swear 2 minutes after I stepped out the door there was a mighty clap of thunder and the heavens opened. 12 miles walking in the rain, all that time to think. Brrrrrrrrrrr it still haunts me.
That was the first of several but if you gamble half the fun is the hard luck stories....cough

Nice story Rusty :) I think I've been to the Albion - go inside, turn right down some stairs through the door, bar area left adjacent near the Bacarrat table over to one side?

My big lost story start like this:

I deposit $200 in bet365 and get $200 bonus.

The WR is $4000.

My bankroll is $2315 when I have already meet the half the WR.

Then I begin to play loosely and lost all my money in just 15 minutes.

  :what:

I lost 400euros at hollands casino and that really pissed me off because its the first time in my life where I felt that the decks in the automatic shuffler were short of big numbers:mad:
I still want to go back for a come back though I won't play BJ never again there unless they put shoes.

What are you suggesting here:what:

If I hit a win of ~$10k I am 99% confident I would be able to quit gambling knowing I came out ahead.

I see you are hoping to get the big win while you keep digging your grave;)

What is Holland Casino like gfk? Is it worth a visit and can you just walk in off the street and play?

I'm pretty risk-averse, so I don't throw out the big bets that often. Also, I'm a serious bonus hustler, so what hurts me is making mistakes.

- In a land-based casino, counting cards (I'm a newbie at it), the count was very positive, I have my "big bet" out (still only $25) and then make a bonehead basic strategy error and lose the hand. The ironic thing is I've made other bonehead BS mistakes, but won the hand.

- While bonus-hustling, either misreading the terms at Shark Casino regarding a no-longer-cashable bonus, or having them changed on me retroactively. (still need to figure outwhat to do with that one).

- While chasing a bunch of small sticky bonuses a number of casinos, betting aggressively on roulette because the math said it was good, but busting out on about 14 casinos in a road. And you know, after going through process to create new accounts, that's a lot of time and typing. That's where I learned that even if the math was on my side, I needed to tone down the riskiness of the bets some.

But I know what will hurt more than anything, and that's counting cards, having hot shoes, but just having a bad streak and getting depantsed.
