That's quite a bold statement but let me tone it down a little. It is referring to the now a days streamers, not the streamers of tomorrow. By tomorrow I mean after the big changes come. This post calls no names.

If you don't know this, you have missed a vital trick.

Do you know who owns the gambling industry ? Yes, the government. Do what they say, or close your doors.

Now with the massive growth and funneling* into online casinos, beyond all the golden handshakes and the echelons behind closed doors, the streamer side of the gambling industry has reached a peak where the government has taken notice.

*Yes, less people want to play fobts now which was the goal, to get more people playing online, behind closed doors so there's little to no visible uproar against the gambling industry.

'such and such a casino was find such and such an amount of money for blah blah blah'

Fake streamers are to be targeted and that means targeting all casinos who could possibly allow this to happen. How do I know this...... well, the rise in complaints about gambling issues causes the government to have to take steps and each separate issue comes along and gets dealt with. FS time is coming.

Ah but that's not proof. No, but where there's money in gambling, there will always be the higher ups taking notice. I too agree that fake streamers should be punished as should the casinos hosting them. Streamer bonuses should also be illegal as bonuses and perks should not have bias. If you spend x then you get offered y and or z.

Most if not all of you will know there is a mass of upset about this very subject. Yes, there are people calling names and supposed conspiracy theories with supposed accidental slipups and 'he doesn't look excited enough' and or 'bad actor' skills and whatever.

The real question to start it all rolling is "does it happen?" - to say yes, you need proof and to say no, you need proof too. Is it possible to tell ? This is where the government will come in. They have the power to look.

Pressure is mounting. Eventually the pot will boil over.

Good luck streamers, you genuine ones are to be respected. You fake ones, might well be going to jail. It's just a matter of time.

Are Slot Streamers a Threat to the Online Gaming industry in the UK? You decide - read the article at Casino Gazette!
It does happen - period.

A few years ago, the streaming scene was in it's infancy and I used to play a lot - I considered starting a channel.

I approached a few affiliate managers asking them if I could get a bit of extra bankroll in the form of deposit bonuses to extend my sessions.

Some offered me nothing, others 100% bonues and a few offered 500 to 1000 a day in fake money on an account created by them to promote their brands.

I refused the latter because I knew if I hit a wild line on Dead or Alive, I wouldn't get that money... I might as well play in fun mode.

On top of that, I just can't LIE to people ... it's not ethical. I never started streaming... but yeah, it happens.

Nate

Dont take it too hard. The only thing that a streamer seeks is those who signup using their affiliate refferal. This could be something innocent as signup for 10 free spins no deposit etc etc. The trick is to lure people in. If you look at any online casino and their affiliate terms / conditions, you'll know that the average payout of refferal leads coul go up to 40 to 60% based on their losses. Yes, losses. So lets say someone signs up using that affiliate link, the streamer would get a 40 to 60 dollar/euro/insertcurrencyhere when that same someone depositted and lost, a 100/insertcurrency here. It's booming, because out of 15 signups, you only need to have one crazy player that goes tilt and the streamer already made pretty much of a good buck.

The business is presented as that you could fund anything you want with gambling, you just have to signup, deposit and start spinning. That big win is just around the corner. Well it's a pyramide scheme if you ask me where the losses of more then 7 out of 10 players are being redistributed over just a bunch of lucky ones. In my experience of playing, i found out that the big betters are always paying for this circus where the people who bet 20pences, always seem to get the big wins. Why. Because they want to lure in those small betting players as potential new big betters. They know the big betters will eventually return and play again. Remember, it's a pyramid scheme here.

Slots are crafted in such a way, that both casino and game provider, simply cannot lose. It's no different then a local casino, but they have collected so much data from over the last years from million players all over the world, they could craft games that go beyond any form of gambling. Think of chilli and the 24 spins gambling feature. In order to win big you have to take the risk to jump all the way up to 24 spins. I've seen so many (streamers) go zero on that feature. People complaining all over the net about how the game should be banned.

Here, they make a pigeon become an addict into pressing something in exchange for a reward. This was back in the 70's or so but you can imagine the R&D that was put back then into gambling and how to design a system that would be guaranteed money for casino's. The online industry is no different. Everybody wants a percentage. And all scream that it's 100% random. It's not random. Casino's have parameters they could set in exchange when they are licencing a game. It's all within 'the box' and set within parameters. One player could not exceed whatever they set and that's that. You cant tell me that I for example, could have a bad winning streak from 3 grand up to 0, where i would set a combination of bets in between 80 cents and 20 euro. That's alot of spins. And yet people still would say, oh it's bad luck mate. Lmao. It's designed to do this way.

Anyone shoud'nt take a streamer seriously. If making money was that easy, why in the world would they share it with you or a million other people on this planet?

But i think; it's all because of a new upcoming generation. Being fed that gambling is a normal thing in life and all that. Sorry, open up a page of gambling addicts here and there and see the misery it brought that fantastic gambling brought to alot of people world wide so far. In america there's such a concentration of slots everywhere, that the suicide rate up there is the highest over the world. And now they are bringing this, as the most normal thing ever into your living room like it's peanuts. It amazes me that anyone being affiliated with any type of casino, is never to be seen in the I quit Gambling thread on this forum. You know why? They dont give a shit. All they care about is the promotion of their new slots and hoal over you money.

Dont be stupid. Go out and enjoy yourself. You dont need slots.

The preloaded account thing absolutely happens. I've been offered it and I only have a small YouTube channel. It's no big secret. The Casino didn't really like people doing it tho. They prefer to augment real money.

At the end of the day it's just a marketing tool they can use. I don't like streamers who use it and pass it off as real though. Normally they get found out pretty quick tho so i wouldn't say it is prevelant.

I'm not sure what the OP is suggesting? Sounds like the Government is going to use investigative powers to analyse streamer sessions to ensure they are playing with real money or casino bonuses? How? Whose government? Even if it were so, how could one government stop streamers from another country or jurisdiction? With the stakes being used by some there will always be trolling and accusations of fakery, casino funding and sometimes just envy that streamers seem to earn and spend a lot. The streamers would argue they have a license to entertain and even if action were taken, you can't unring a bell. I'm glad I never got into streaming as it seems a costly way to live and not a little boring if the truth be told. If anyone stops it, it'll most likely be YT as opposed to any govt or various gambling authorities telling casinos not to advertise on live streams.

The outrage against streamers is something I can't understand no matter how hard I'm trying.

If you don't like them or think they are fake just don't watch them? WTF?

Because a lot of people don't know they are using fake money, and think they can win 100,000's by playing on $50 stakes.

About 90% of the people on the TV annoy me. So I simply don't watch them. Who forces you to watch any streamer you dont like? I mean its not like they calling you or standing at your door and annoy you. You have to search for them if you want to watch.

Reasonable people aren't gonna get roped in by visuals of silly bets, likely because they can see it as unrealistic, and can't afford it either.

But those poor with finances or easily dazzled are being led down the garden path by such boastful wins, and that's where (a lack of) Responsible Gambling comes in with these showmen I mean 'streamers'

Or more accurately, Prosperity Streamers :eek2:

Yep would agree with that on YT/Twitch stopping it. I don't see what the UKGC could do about it to be honest other than fining some of the casinos who are using the streamers to promote their sites.

Just all click report on the video's you see coming in your timeline as spam, and the party will be over soon. If people would like to watch big and crazy wins i understand. But it's not crazy big wins, it's promoted big wins, with accounts that have a shitload of bonus money or a funded account in general since it's such a nice personality to look at lmao. People should be more aware the reasons why streamers stream their gambling things in the first place. affiliate marketing and taking it up to another level by pairing with other people as well.

Gambling is not a way of living.

May I just add that you've indeed come to the right forum! :D:lolup:

I have 2 adblockers, so i really dont see any of that affiliate marketing you are talking about. It's to protect my workstation from malicious software evading my computer.

I would think, in the UK, the ASA will clamp down on streamers before anyone else. A lot of streamers are in breach of 2.1 or 2.3 of the CAP code. Going from past breaches, the casinos will ultimately be held responsible for this, which will result in the casinos being fined and clamping right down on them.

Guys, I haven't read the replies at this point more than glossed over them at this point after an opposite of relaxed sunday, I really want to drive home a point or so.

This has nothing to do with 'if you don't like, don't watch'. I mentioned nothing about entertainment quality. This is nothing to do with love like loathe or hatred for one or more or all streamers. I am not listing anyone or picking on anyone except the fact of fake streamers.

Streamers who are 100% independent have my respect. Likewise casinos who don't do this, also have my respect.

I realise and support the notion that it is very very easy to host a dummy account with any of the systems that allow testing to look like real play and of course then login from remote locations and appear to be a real streamer.

Actually, I got told the opposite by one streamer. He said the 'loaded account' is quite common because it lessens the expense to the casino in as much as they don't have to fork out affiliate money AND winnings from +EV bonuses.

He also told me he asked one casino if he could play with real funds and they asked him why the hell he'd want to do that.

Either way, I view twitch steams as a little entertainment of an evening and I'm quite happy to moderate for the non deceptive ones.

Haven't you heard of the streamer enforcement agency :p

No just knowing that they're there, beaming their false prophecies into the uk households of vulnerable addicts and also helping to create new future addicts, mainly impressionable youngsters etc.. who go on twitch and youtube, raise my hackles. I don't want to ban the streamers but they, and the casinos they represent on stream, should practice responsible gambling, I don't think that is too much to ask.

Fake streamers are nothing more than the modern day snake oil salesman. Pathetic, deceptive, shallow, greedy, frauds in every aspect. I understand how some people say, if you don't like it, don't watch it but to me that's a kop out. It's like knowing there is a lady getting her purse robbed in the street by a thief, and you see it and you don't like it, so you turn the other cheek and dont watch it. I don't live like that and I think it is irresponsible to be that way, if someone robs another in front of me, they are getting rugby tackled and the right thing will be done on the spot. I actually think these fakes are worse than the braisan thief in the street because they are profiting from others losses in sneaky and underhand manner. Their blatant FALSE advertising and ridiculous runs of "luck"are presented in a way where its like, here, watch my big win videos, all on £5.00 stakes or higher, then sign up through my link and do what I do, so you can be a big winner too, when all the while they know fine rightly it is only 1 to 5% of those people that will win anything at all and the truth is, the rest will line the streamers pockets. These charlatans need to be ousted for good. Its got to the stage where its very hard to know if any of these guys are legitimate and that's because of how many fakes there are muddying the water. Slots/poker/table games streams or videos can be brilliant entertainment and I like to watch them, especially if I have lost that week because its a far more cost effective way to have gambling related fun without re depositing or playing outside of my means. As a gambler myself (who loses regularly and wins occasionally) I would fully support anyone who wants to take on a casino (genuinely, at their own risk of REAL losses) because that's where the fun lays for me. I like having the odds stacked against me and staying grounded with the realisation that 9/10 Im going to lose because that's the true nature of the game. Its a very satisfying feeling when you get a streak on the slots or a golden run of the cards but these times are few and far between so anyone painting a different picture to profit from others losses needs to be called out and shamed in my opinion. Just because their fraud is covert does not stop it being a fraud. Sorry about the length of my reply but I feel very strongly about this so I think it is justified!! Brilliant thread 5ta, Kudos to you.

Ultimately what difference does it make if they play with real money or fake money? What difference does it make to YOU if they can afford to lose 10k in a session or not? Are you going to play $10/spin because some of them do?

What if you walk in a hi roller part of a B&M casino, are you staying to watch them play then get mad and ask them if it's legit or stolen money? Why would you care, it's not your God damn money anyway!

I'll tell you what, if you can't help yourself but have to watch other people playing casino games even if you don't want to you've got issues and you need help. Don't blame others for your issues.

If this is how you treat people with whom you disagree, then you won't be here very long. Don't do it again.

look here dumb dumb, the difference is honesty and dishonesty and the reason it matters is because innocent people are being scammed, manipulated and lied too. As for any land based casino you know its real money at all times, the B and M casinos are accessible for the public and not hiding behind a monitor scamming people, thats the difference. Who said I HAVE to do anything???? pfffff you donk. read what your quoting properly before you slabber. I never said I have to watch them, I said I like to watch them, especially if I have lost because they entertain me and YES, for me they can be a great deterrent for not doing more deposits because (as any seasoned gambler should know) over spending and chasing loses can be devastating for people. So try reading what I said again and try to understand it in context you clown before you start mouthing off. You are clearly the one with issues.

Why don't streamers play 10p spins... because Higher stakes are more exciting, with greater risks and rewards possible, if somebody is watching somebody do something and they're finding it exciting and entertaining, aren't they going to hanker after the same experience themselves ?...but perhaps not realising they will not receive the same bonuses from the casino, and that the regular bonuses are essential to play long enough to get the hits shown during the stream and in highlight click bait videos...so any viewers influenced by the wins are onto a loser from the off.

Experienced slot players will likely not be affected by a stream/big win videos in the exact same way as the novice and unenlightened young person would be, morally it is also far worse if the streamer trying to influence viewers to sign up through his links is playing with fake money or casino funds and is therefore exposed to zero risk/cost whilst gambling and during the promotion of it.

The stream is a marketing tool for his affliate business and marketing normally costs money, so it shouldn't be a problem to fund the streams out of his own pocket and the gambling behaviour is likely to be far more 'responsible' if the financial risk is wholly his, as it will be for the folk who sign up to casinos through the streamer's links.

The only people who don't wish to see any changes to the behaviour of the 'streaming community' are the die hard fans who have really connected to the streamer's personalities, almost like friends, and look forward to watching them every day and probably join in with the chat.

So if any restrictions or change is raised as a topic the fans are going to get annoyed as they want every thing to carry on as normal, it's a bit like a long running popular tv program facing the axe, but in this case it wouldn't be the axe but changes just to make the streaming more responsible and realistic. They could still play high stakes as long as it's funded out of their pocket and not by the casino.

well said! I am all for legit streamers but some of the guys doing it at the minute are so obviously not playing for real money because there is no way on Earth the could sustain 3-4k losses for days on end without some sort of deal with the casino to be funded or to get a colossal cash back deal to cover their losses. As for the streamers die hard fans, these people sound like they are addicted to the streams so if thats the case and they have an addictive nature or tendencies, then being around slots/gambling every day is really the biggest recipe for disaster possible. If a streamer is promoting gambling on slots continually at stakes over £1 a spin for hours on end every day of the week then that is the very definition of irresponsible gambling and it truly makes me sick that some of these guys are causing people harm. Streaming needs to be honest, this industry needs to be honest and the streams need to be transparent and realistic. the way some off these guys burn through money they are either total degens or its fake. so if some guy is spending 10k a week on slots at £5er a spin I find that verrrry fishy because that is absolutely unsustainable long term and slot rtp would tell anyone that. Slots dont return 96p for every £1 to lose casinos money!!

It's a bit of an affliate contest re the high stakes [all fighting for sign ups and bugger any consequences from influencing folk towards higher stakes] in the same way as the prize give aways [via a random draw] for new sign ups. I think £1 stake is realistic but £2 is also not too bad, you can lose a lot of money but I think that is the new fobt limit and with inflation £2 doesn't buy as much as it did 10 years ago. I never play at £1 let alone £2 and I've still lost buckets! heaven knows the losses of people trying to do lots of £5 spins

It has been a hotly debated topic on the forum quite a few times in the past and I'm sure, despite this threads title, it will be again
