If I had to make a guess,it could be either casino-on-net or intercasino.

Casino on net holds a position between the 100 most visited sites based on Alexa : You must register/login in order to see the link. . I think it has a database of more 10 million registered players around the world.

This is a tough one. You can get an idea on how much traffic a site receives by checking out a few sites, but they are not error free. For instance, I don't think Alexa registers AOL users, and only those using the toolbar are counted.

You must register/login in order to see the link.
You must register/login in order to see the link.

This only shows the traffic that the casino receives on their casino website. You don't know how many people are downloading and installing the software.

There was a thread that covered this a little bit here:
    http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5609
(this is a few months ago and the traffic has changed for most of these sites since then). Casinomeister is probably one of the higher ranked portal/casino information type sites. And I would find it safe to say the highest ranked site that spends zilch on marketing or buying traffic, and that is run by one person. :D

That MetricMarkets tool is a great find. Although it is somewhat inaccurate judging the estimated traffic it gives for the sites I run.

True, but it's good to use as a comparison tool since it registers websites in the same way (I'm guessing).

As for the largest casino group, has to be 888.com / casino on net - their pure financial muscle has allowed them to have a customer base of nearly 10million, although of these I do not know the percentage of active customers.

Regarding the most visited portals. It has to be between the likes of Winner Online, got2bet, online casino reports, casinomeister and a few others that rank highly naturally in the search engines.

Considering all the marketing they do, online and offline, Golden Palace must be among the most visited casino sites.

I wonder what % of players actually visited or are aware of web sites such as casinomeister, got2bet and winneronline...

I'd bet not more than 5%, with WOL and Casinomeister carrying most of that weight.

I would agree Golden Palace must get the most visits and perhaps signups, but I doubt they have the most retention of players. I would think Casino On Net would.

While it's irrelevant now, I assumed that for the longest time that Casino-On-Net was the king, and it wasn't even close back in those days. It seemed like they had banners all over the internet back in '01-03. I'd also have to think that The Gaming Club was one the bigger casino's at that time, as well as Captain Cooks Casino.

While InterCasino seems quite obviously "large" these days, you'd have to think that 32Red will be tops in the near future.

** well, i know that the casino with the most games (as far as I could figure out) is colosseum casino. dunno of that means anything! the oldest casinos are riverbel and golden palace (i think) and the biggest group - don't know, don't care, to me, size does not matter! *grin* **
