Lately i've been walking around with the idea to start a website for the sole purpose of affiliate marketing in the gambling industry. I have some money to buy a good domain, and a friend of mine is an IT-guy who builds websites for a living. He will also be able to get my website up there in the search engines, and keep it updated with new content (which obviously i would create myself)

In my opinion the idea is almost too good to be true... which is exactly why I need some information from affiliates who already made it happen. How did you start? What are the tricks? Is it hard to earn a nice sum of money? I would consider a couple hundred a month a succes!

Obviously I've been looking for information on other websites, but so far I haven't been able to find any usefull intel. Any tip, experience or success story is welcome really.

Apologies if i put this in the wrong forum, feel free to move the topic if I did. Looking forward to your answers!

Daniel

too late in the game to get started casinomeister.com has taken all the bread. The rest of the crumbs has been taken as well. :D

I had a site from 2005 - 2013, focused mostly on sports betting, but also some poker and casino stuff. From 2005-2007 I made about $20K total. Not a killing, but pretty cool when a hobby pays off. In late 2006 the UIGEA went into effect and things went downhill quickly from there. From 2007-2009 I made about $2K. I stopped actively managing the site but left it up, making another $2K (or so) from residual client activity (and 1 or 2 new signups) until I took it down about 4 months ago.

I miss it though. It was fun for me, and I am starting to build a couple of sites again. I bought some hosting space and a couple of domain names. I enjoy the activity of building the sites and seeing them online. I'm not trying to survive off the income generated, so I can work on them when they suit me and ignore them when they don't. I'll probably try to generate site traffic later this year after I get them looking like I want and a reasonable amount of content posted.

My only advice is to watch out who you represent. Just like there are casinos that go rogue on players, there are casinos that go rogue on affiliates. Casinomeister tracks that side of the business, too.

Best of Luck!

I think he is okay to have a joke. On the other hand you posted this under Casinos where it should had been posted in the Affiliate section

I am not sure if you can post in that section but its under Webmaster's Corner. You can apply for Affiliate access there just to give you heads up ;)

Best place to start IMHO would be Affiliate Guard Dog. There you can read a lot of things and also get lot of help starting up as affiliate. I have had lot of good info from there.
