There’s no way to control what new or even old member contribute. However I noticed that max and Cm himself have been more vigilant with posters and the forum rules. I think one poster got 30 day suspension or just a warning for flooding a casino thread with posts That added nothing to the conversation except for complaints about freebies.

At least I think it's good because you made me think a bit longer.
What you said could go not only for those that only come here for the exclusive contests, but also those that only read and post in the free spins thread.
Those that always just care about themselves.
Maybe even those that are reading all information but never log in or register


I can also be irritated, but as long as the reps are prepared to post some rules so we feel valued then it's fine. As homerbert said it's also a way for them to get new customers. We come here for different reasons. Don't forget those like Harry who signed up here just to complain but then haven't left

I agree with Colin on this. We have seen on more than one occasion new/fairly inactive members swooping in and taking top prizes worth thousands in some cases. If something is a CM exclusive comp, then there should be rules like xx posts before the comp started, or in previous 12 months or whenever. Allowing a new member to win doesn't boost active members here, it boosts members who are inactive till the next comp. Someone can easily join after seeing a comp on here, join in the forum and take part in the next one.

The Videoslots rules are good, 20 posts this year before the start of the comp. If they wanted to change it slightly to attract new members they could say any member for the free spins, but only those with 20 posts could enter the screenshot comp. That way it would attract new members to sign up, but reward those who are actually active on the forum.

I'm not sure there's any issue. CM is a business don't forget and businesses have many ways of attracting footfall or customers. The more visitors the better, irrespective of their motive for joining. As long as they behave themselves while here, all's good. It doesn't affect the seasoned CM membership; we all know who the constructive participants are anyway and maybe a few of these newbies will go on to contribute eventually. Think of your local bar or pub having a 'happy hour' - yes, people might drop in for half-price beer and then go never to be seen again, but many will return and even if not, the awareness of the bar is out there....

It's also up to the casino to make rules for their offers, i.e. length of membership and forum posts etc. Most do, but if these are too restrictive the place will simply come across as cliquey so a balance is needed.

If people are pissed-off with the rules of entry being too lenient, unless it's a CM-funded competition they should really aim their suggestions at the casino reps but remember they're not obliged to offer anything to you at all. If they do then in many cases it will be to encourage more participation hence the bar is set lower.

Yeah up to casino reps if the regs here arent liking it. All it takes is a handful of people to post about it in the thread and the reps usually change it to appease the majority.

I personally dont really partake in giveaways but I can see why it would bother regs here. I also think if these freeloaders are doing nothing but pestering and complaining about prizes, is people start reporting them. I dont think its fair these people can possibly scare or annoy some of the reps away.

I do fear if you guys keep pounding away on the VS rep so much they might just up and disappear. Sometimes its all about how you word things. And if you dont think its possible just remember some of the other golden reps we have had here pack their bags and stop posting completely.

There is a lot of times I don't contribute, only because some of the posts are out of my league. Like ones that are UK base, but I will contribute to ones that are Canadian. There are times that I will be negative. Not to be intentional, but more not thinking before hand. Knee jerk reaction. That is something I am working hard on correcting. I think there is more to the post than meets the eye IMO, but people will be people. I will only worry about what I have control over.

I'm more perturbed by the relentless shillspamming over the last few days/ weeks, I wouldn't mind if casinos had actually made an effort this year but let's face it, the 'offers' have had more Austerity about them than the 2007 Financial Crisis.

I know it's the season of goodwill but it's just funny to me watching members get falsely enthused about 25% match offers, or 10 spins on BoD

Agree with the OP, I do feel the exclusive comps could be tighter on restrictions. To many are merely here for free stuff and don’t contribute diddly squat.
That said it’s not my forum, the owners probably want more traffic.
Is a bit annoying though some new whipper snapper popping up posting some pointless piffle, winning some stuff then vanishing like a gay at a Barrymore pool party (sorry dazza!)
Also to be to restrictive would make it like a ‘old boys club’ kind of thing and that’s not great either as would scare or the new members somewhat.
