Neteller/Skrill and casinos send out emails about responsible gambling. Very nice gesture and appreciated. But it made me think of the following analogy:

Bears (players) go to forests (casinos) for some honey (money). Forest rangers (Gambling Commission) set the rules. There can be hunters and they can hunt the bears, but they can’t use guns. They can’t hunt young or sick bears and for some strange reason they can’t leave too many honey jars at the entrance of the forest or write the word “free” on them.

But you know what they can do? They can use huge BeaR TraPs (Bad RTP). They can hide them, change their location and size, use as many as they want….. whatever. The only rule is that there must be a map with all the traps hidden in some place in the woods (RTP must be stated on some page).

It doesn’t really help the bear if the bear doesn’t even know there is a trap or what the trap looks like or why it is so dangerous, does it?

All the “take care bear” talk means very little to the big strong bear. The bear doesn’t see the small unarmed men as much of a threat. If only the bear knew all about the bear traps……

My initial thought was pretty much; people who lost serious amounts of money, started to throw their sad stories, complaints or refund attempts to skrill. Why in the world would skrill send out an email like that in the first place?

On the other hand, fact that people are running into financial oblivion tells alot about the industry as well.

I wasn't trying to be funny. I wanted to show a point shared before by other members.

The point is that low RTP is very dangerous for the player, one of the main reasons for irresponsible play.
And Gambling Commissions must make sure the players are well informed about it, what happens now is not enough, not at all.

I like the analogy.

Especially the bit about 'They can’t hunt young or sick bears and for some strange reason they can’t leave too many honey jars at the entrance of the forest or write the word “free” on them.'

Its a funny industry. Casinos can advertise, just about, but not be seen to attract too much or encourage spending, but offer interesting games and make it an enjoyable experience. Their purpose is to get you to spend money like all businesses but they have to be seen to be doing it ethically rather than just selling a product.

In the immortal words of Jimmy Greaves 'Its a funny old game'.

Completely agree RTP should be at the forefront of what your playing and there in bold without going hunting or checking.

I cant think of any other product that looks identical, in every way, sold for the same amount but is actually different.
