It's always nice to be remembered on your B'day, especially if you play somewhere often. But I wouldn't say it should be expected of the casinos.
Having been absolutely spoiled by the likes of 32 Red I agree that sometimes there is a sense of almost entitlement for lack of a better word, but seeing all the casinos that don't bend over backwards for the players has kind of given me a reality check as of late. In my case, for a long time, 32 would give me pretty much every point top up, comp or manual flushing I would ask for. When they started to pull back from the over-giving culture they created, I was hurt and shocked. I felt let down, but the fact of the matter is they never had to give anyone, anything. They chose to. Afterwards when things changed, you end up with people (myself included) who were spoiled rotten to the core freaking out cause the red letter days that used to come fast and furious slowed to a trickle, the comps all but dried up, and the bonuses at the sister casinos were reeled back in to only regular depositors at those casinos (ex. Monthly bonus removed for lots at Nedplay)
I, for one, gladly soaked up every bit of bonus money I could get my hands on from all 4 sites 32 red runs. Instead of being thankful for what I got, which was plentiful for a long time, I instead found myself pissed off and hurt that the well dried up, I can only get bonuses at 32 red of the 4, and even those aren't as generous as they once were. I think that was the wrong attitude to have, and for that I feel bad.
32 Red aren't having the best of times financially from what I can gather from other posts, so for them to pull things back a bit seems logical, but who is to say that things wont return to what they were. There is a certain ebb and flow to life that I didn't even consider. I will be sticking with 32red for the long term, as well as a couple of other top casinos, even if they do remove the birthday bonuses. Times may be tough right now, but that isn't to say patience wont be rewarded. If the past several years was the "good times" and there aren't to be more, so be it. What a thrill ride it was...but I suspect there are more free spending times ahead, and I would put 32Red right at the top of the list to be likely to give back to us the players when times are good.
As its only ones a year i'm sure they will still do them .Red letter days are random .If you get one now and then you lucky and its not a given thing they have to do
