At the risk of sounding naive and slow...what is PAB?

So you know, I just realized what 'WR' is!:eek:

I can't wait to type s/hand ;) and that everyone will know what I mean. I will be the coolest poster , evah! :p

Maybe someone could post the meanings of terms used so that newbies ,such as myself, can refer to?

It's just that I enjoy reading threads, here but then I have to do some research elsewhere to find out what a certain term, means. I just figure that maybe a Dummies guide to casino terminology would be helpful?

Welcome to the forum secret2!
PAB is pitch a bitch ( a section here when you need help)

Maybe posting some that are unfamiliar to you and we could fill in the blanks to help you become forum savvy...I sometinmes still wonder what some of the darn things mean too! :D

I'm in the same boat. I too very often get lost with all the abbreviations. Some how I read on and figure it out but seem to forget it a week or so later. :eek2:

Hello secret, welcome. Max Drayman writing, I'm the Player Grievance Manager at Casinomeister.com ... which means I handle the Pitch-A-Bitch section and do a little moderating in the Complaints section of the forums.

FYI, the place for info on the PABs is the Pitch-A-Bitch FAQ.

There's also a bunch of related links in my sig, if you're so inclined.

If anyone wants to tackle posting all of the gambling or Casinomeister-type terms or abbreviations that are not household/common lingo, please post them here and I'll get a Casinomeister glossary going. Thanks!

A casinomeister glossary would be great. I like to read the threads on this great forum for fans of online gambling but sometimes it is very difficult to understand certain abbrevations and expressions. I have found out what some of them mean. For example SUB means sign up bonus I guess. B & M casino probably means brick & mortar casino. I havent found out what OP means but I guess this is the person who created a new thread. Is this correct?
But there is another problem: sometimes strange slang expressions are used that I cannot find in my dictionary. folks, please remember that a lot of members are not native speakers and they cannot understand slang. I learned english at school and there you learn Oxford english. :)

I have thought a long time about this sentence but I just dont understand it. I know every single word but it doesnt seem to make sense. Well, Nashvegas means Nashville, right?

Please tell me what this sentence means.

"Nashvegas" is the nickname of one of the other members here. Like your name is "gamblingmace". I guess his posts can be difficult to understand.

You'll have to fill in the spaces here - the FU clause refers to the "F**k You" attitude of some online casino and poker room operators who have all-embracing and catch-all lawyer's conditions that summed up amount to:

"Management can do what it likes, regardless of any other term and condition" or "Management reserves the right to make the final and unappealable decision" etc etc etc (you get the drift)

Another favourite is the arbitrary casino decision on who is a "bonus abuser" which in itself is a redundant label.

If the player meets the T&Cs set by the operator, then it is impossible for him or her to be a "bonus abuser" yet the questionable operator will sometimes try to deny payouts on that very dicky ground.

I think it is generally accepted that operators need to protect themselves against multi-accounters, chargeback artists, ID crooks and the like (noone has much sympathy for those sort of players), but to use the FU clause on trumped up allegations to avoid paying what is due is to descend to the depths of roguedom.

oh I understand what f u clause means now
I had thought about that before but I thought they cannot mean that and it must be something else lol. yes, I know what is meant by that but at least I have been lucky so far and I have never been cheated by an online gambling site. thank you for explaining it to me jetset but I wonder how one can make 10,875 posts. I am impressed now lol.

Thanks - if you'll notice, some of these terms have a slight underline. Mouse over the terms and you'll see their meanings.

I should have a glossary by the end of the week. :D

I must be stupid but I just realised a few days ago that SUB = sign up bonus.

Also I wanted to point out that KK sometimes = Kasino King! ;)

I always thought LOL meant "Laugh Out Loud"... ?

KK only means "King of the Kasinos", and if anyone is infringing my copyright & using it for anything else I want to know about it! :p

While I'm here, these are my definitions for the different types of bonuses:-

Phantom: Your bonus chips are taken off your balance when you cash-out. (i.e. you think it's a bonus, but really it isn't - it's just a way to con you into losing your money!)

Sticky: Your bonus chips "stick" in your account after you cash-out your real money. You can carry on playing with the bonus and hopefully win more cash!

Cashable: The bonus is given to you when you deposit and as soon you complete the WR the bonus chips are converted into real money which you can cash-out.

Post-Wager: These are also cashable, but the bonus is not added to your account until after you have met the WR with your own deposited funds. Most of these bonuses are then instantly withdrawable (a few require further WR before all the funds are yours to keep).

Flexible: This bonus is a mixture of Cashable & Phantom. The bonus funds are added to your account and are initially all phantom. As you wager the bonus credits are converted into real cash reducing the amount of phantom chips (e.g. with most MGs, each time you finish $300 in wagers $10 of bonus is changed into cash).
With some casinos you can cash-out at ANY time without having to complete the full WR, but since early 2007 most require you to complete the full WR on sign-up bonuses. When you do cash-out, any remaining bonus chips are removed from your account and lost forever. This system is great because if you hit a good early streak or big slot win you are not committed to huge WR!

KK ;)
