This should be good from Microgaming. Have a look if you're at ICE.

-----Press Release------
Hasta la vista, baby! MICROGAMING ANNOUNCES LICENSING AGREEMENT FOR TERMINATOR 2™

Same Make. Same Model. New Mission. Terminator 2 enters the world of online gaming.

ISLE OF MAN – Through a licensing agreement with Studiocanal S.A., Microgaming (www.microgaming.co.uk) is developing an online slot based on the massive blockbuster and sci-fi thriller, Terminator 2: Judgment Day™.

Terminator 2, the much anticipated follow-up to The Terminator, was released in July 1991 to worldwide acclaim. The films’ extensive use of computer-generated imagery (CGI) created previously unseen visual effects and played an integral role in bringing two of the main characters to life; the T800 (Terminator) and T1000 (Evil Terminator). In recognition of its remarkable visualisations, the film won four Academy Awards and two BAFTA Awards including Best Sound and Best Visual Effects. The movie was also a financial success with worldwide box office sales of over $500 million.

Featuring an all-star Hollywood cast headlined by Arnold Schwarzenegger in his most famous role, an absorbing storyline and thunderous special effects, Terminator 2 highly influenced popular culture, particularly movies in the genres of action and science fiction. The all-time classic regularly appears in the top band of movie polls; it is included in the American Film Institutes’ Top 10 science fiction films and is 35th on the list of The 500 Greatest Movies of All Time, ranked by Empire. It is one of the most beloved sci-fi films of all time.

Launching this summer, the T2 online slot will be a 243 ways-to-win game which expands to 1,024 ways-to-win during the free spins feature, triggered by three or more Time Travel Orb symbols. The iconic T800 and T1000 will offer additional winning opportunities.

Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, commented: “We are incredibly excited to be developing an online slot around the Terminator 2 movie – it is a brand which has mass appeal and lends itself perfectly to the world of online gaming. As explosive as the film, we are in the process of creating an action-packed, jaw-dropping slot; it’s a classic in the making!”

Rand Marlis, president of Creative Licensing Corporation, which represents Studiocanal for Terminator 2 licensing, said: “Microgaming has vast experience in licensing brands and we have every confidence that the Terminator 2 online slot will be a massive success. Working with Microgaming is a real pleasure and we look forward to a long-lasting and successful relationship.”

Microgaming will be previewing the T2 online slot at ICE Totally Gaming, ExCel London, 4th to 6th February 2014, at stand number N11-120. Hasta la vista, baby!

One of my all-time favourite films EVER!

Unfortunately, due to a planned strike by London Underground on Feb 4th - I wont be going to ICE :(
(Unless Arnie picks me up and takes me there on the back of a Harley).
What's that faint screaming noise I can hear from the CM members... it sounds like "Oh no - not ANOTHER 243-way slot!" :p

KK

Hang on that's my cue

(Applies make up, exits dressing room, heads for main stage)

"Oh no - not ANOTHER 243-way slot!" :sob:

(Goes back to dressing room, shaking head)

"Oh no - not ANOTHER 243-way slot!" Ha Ha

I actually think after seeing Avalon 2 that they'll make a really good job of this!

Shame about ICE, it's going to be a major pain in the back unless they call the strike off.
Of course if they do call it off it'll be too late for most people to get train tickets into London for less than £10000 or something anyway unfortunately.

Hopefully something changes an I'll see a few of you there!

Hopefully Canadians will be allowed to play it.

I recently played a Playboy slot at my local casino, it was decent, but I sure do miss Sofia and her running wilds. :(

Wow - another 243-way crock of crap which then 'expands' to include hundreds more useless permutations in freespins whereupon it becomes a 1024-way crock of crap. Why not go the whole hog and make it a 5x5 (3125-way) crock of crap in freespins? Then we can play slack-jawed in amazement at each free spin when 3124 of the permutations are useless.......

As Arnold Sh!tslinger says in the film - 'Hasta la vista Microgaming'.

Lol! whats with that attitude matey? aren't you forgetting you recently hit your biggest x bet ever, iirc that was on one of those crock of crap slots:p

Anyway, i am looking forward to it, I can see the fun in such a bonus.I am also looking forward to avalon 2, i just know i am going to love it ^^

Now this is really good news

I just hope they incorporate as many of those iconic images as possible.
T-1000 emerging from the flames as an expanding wild?

Indeed you are correct - my second-biggest ever x stake. I cannot deny that,

BUT let me demonstrate how that assists my case regarding pointless reel permutations. You can only win the full 243 combinations with at least 4 REELS TOTALLY WILD. I had 81 Thors, 81 Jacks and 81 9's. I had the complete 243-set. This was a one-in-a-million spin. The other 999,999 spins used between 0 and 27 winlines.

This fact is so obvious that Netent have even taken the piss out of the 243-way concept with their 'Twinspin' slot.
"Hey let's have a 243-way slot that actually often pays 27-81 ways but make the combos worth fractions of a credit."

I love the 243 way MG "high" variance slots. They get most of my money these days.

Avalon 2 looks pretty ordinary though. IR, Playboy, TFROL are my favourites. Hopefully T2 will be in the same vein.

The message from Microgaming is sadly very clear.

They want to take more and more options away from the slots player to leave him with a totally subservient and passive experience.

Playing a 243 line slot game is about pressing the spin button like a monkey in a cage until you either bust out or ring the jackpot bell

I wouldn't mind them bringing out these things if they were also putting as much attention into bringing out exciting new customisable, 9-25 line video slots (ie the very thing that made them popular in the first place, which they were so good at for years)

But they're not

I don't understand the logic in this statement. Which of the 'normal' (9, 15, 20, etc line) slots would you win on all winlines, without 4 reels being wild?

and normal spins might use between 0 and 27 winlines. but they're 0 - 27 from a possible 243 lines, not the same 0 - 27 of fixed lines, like a 'normal' slot.

I've lost count of the number of times i've had 5 symbols of the same type on screen, but one of them has been one stop off a win line, meaning no win (or at best a smaller win than 5OAK).
at least on a 243 slot the 5 symbols just have to be there. because a 243 slot, basically doesn't have any 'normal' fixed winlines.

And It's not like they're charging 243 coins per spin, you can play a spin for 30p, which is the same as a 30 fixed-line 'normal' slot where the symbols have to land on a set 30 (of 243 possible) positions, rather than just anywhere

Most of my best wins have been on 243 slots, maybe not huge life-changing wins, but enough to fund my playing and a small regular profit

Can't wait

I am looking forward to this slot coming out so it better be good. I like the look of the slot so we will see when its released.:)
