Strictly Movies

Funny you mentioned Lighthouse as I was just watching the trailer before, it sure looks dark which I really love.
Not too pretty in that one is he lol
When you actually delve deeper and read some interviews here and there he comes across as a fairly affable chappie.

Like in 'Water For Elephants', where during the drunk scenes he was legit shit-faced throughout

Though in Lighthouse I don't think he's method-acting to that degree (though who knows :D)

Fairly certain he masturbates to a carving of a mermaid though :eek2:

Who doesn't?

Cool! I need that :D

But why only 4.5 score on IMDB?

I didn’t think anyone took IMDB ratings seriously these days - some legit reviews, but a stack of fake reviews by competitors.

If you like the film synopsis, give it shot. Relying on movie reviews can see you miss out on a good movie; it’s subjective....

Going to watch ‘The influence’ tonight. I enjoy a good scare. Bad dreams ha, sounds like a winner to me !

Cheers for the heads up Mina ;)

I watched My Name is Dolomite yesterday as it was added to Netflix in Ireland.
I really enjoyed the movie and I think Eddy Murphy was awesome in this role.
Movie was right up my street and also had a good few funny cameos in it.
Good story told in a funny way.

Also be going to watch Terminator Dark Fate this weekend, looking forward to the movie as I am a big fan of that whole franchise.

I’ve seen it too, enjoyed it! Great seeing Eddie back on screen. I started laughing the second he opened his mouth haha...

I was just wondering :)

I watched In the Tall Grass last week.
I really like the premise and did enjoy it but I thought towards the end it got a bit convoluted....

Just finished In the Tall Grass an hour or so ago. Oh dear.

Grass. Repetitive dialogue. Grass. Chanting. Grass. Screaming. Grass. Shallow, ridiculous characters. Grass. No logic or reason. Grass.

That damned grass should win an Oscar.

Haha, I somehow forced myself to watch this about 3/4 way through, waiting to see if the script was going to finally capture my interest, but ultimately, I couldn’t go any further and had to shut it down.

I like Patrick Wilson, but he should have steered clear of this one.

Just finished watching 'Time Trap'.

A touch of Cockney rhyming slang accurately describes just how bad this one was.

How come I manage to pick such dire films?

Oh well...will be watching Endgame tomorrow night then back to Netflix for some more questionable choices.

If I watched The Influence, I would have to be seriously under the influence. Horror movies shred my last nerve and I have nightmares for weeks after. And yet, I can watch zomflicks without so much as an emergency exit plan in place.

*Adding ladyhawke to my group of survivors for the upcoming zombie apocalypse!

I have been watching a few good movies on Netflix lately

Fracture...

I finally got around to watching Fractured last night. My main problem with it is Sam Worthington, as I find him an emotionless actor - even when he is trying to express emotions it just doesn't ring true. That said, there was one exception as I loved him in Sabotage. Didn't even realise it was him until I checked the credits.

Also I guessed what was happening about 20 mins in, which didn't ruin it for me, but I just think other films have done it better, e.g. Fight Club or even American Psycho.

So tonight it is either:
The Red Sea Diving Resort
The King
Triple Frontier

Or depending on my mood:

Some movies i have watched recently and would recommend for different reasons.
Some old, some new.

I got sidetracked last night by Wu Assassins so will try again tonight to watch one of the above.

Also, I am really looking forward to Marriage Story - to be released on Dec 6th. It has had extremely good reviews, even though the subject matter will be a little confronting and emotional (personal experience I'm afraid), with rumours of possible Oscar nominations for both Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson.
