I told someone today that I've probably never posted a complaint about a casino.
I have to start somewhere so why not with my favourit casino about such a trivial thing as emails about free spins.

Why are you sending out emails where the headline says Member, Freespins on SouthPark!?

When other NetEnt casinos are saying that then they mean it, but not Redbet.
I will get them if I pay for them first

I open every email I get from them anyway since they are so few, but I think I maybe will stop doing that now.

I suppose I'm not the only one getting these emails, it's the third week now.
I already have complained to them but since it doesn't help I honour them with this thread :)

Am I wrong and should accept it then tell me so. I don't like being angry:oops:

I have done that twice already. He's not responsible.

I thought maybe they will listen now...and maybe not, but I hate being tricked like that.
They should be above that kind of marketing. I expect more from them than others ;)

Poor Sara...it's so hard to open an email once a week... :p

Seriously though, I don't think it's that bad - the subject doesn't say "You HAVE free spins" or "Play your free spins" or whatever. I suppose they could maybe say "GET free spins on (whichever game)"....?

Well, Redbet always send mails like: FREE SPINS. And when you open the mail you have to deposit for the free spins. If they say free spins then I want to have free spins. I think that`s her problem, and I can understand. If I have a mail from GUTS with free spins, then I have free spins:)

Finally someone that has an opinion, even though I already knew yours :p

Now the thing is that the reason they write it like that is to tease people to open the mail. Even those that don't normally do it.
Fine, they are good in marketing, but that doesn't make it right in my eyes.
The only reason I don't work in that business is that I can't lie to people in that way.

You see the headline and get happy. Open the email and get mad or disappointed.
Admit that you react the same you evil girl

Oops gagamel. I see you posted while I replied to Chayton. I hope you understood that I didn't call you and evil girl :D

I would say we have the same opinion in economy strategies

Yeah I get these emails too, the wording of them doesn't particularly bother me, I'm used to casinos using all sorts of linguistic tricks when it comes to their bonus offers, although admittedly I'd expect better from Redbet.

The way to look at them is as a basic deposit bonus, and in that context they're all pretty crap, generally in the region of 25%, with a 40x WR on any wins accrued with the free spins themselves.

Needless to say I haven't been even remotely tempted by any of them :)

When I get an email from GUTS telling me that I have free spins waiting for me in my account, I know that I've real free spins no string attached (which is always nice) . When I get the same email from Redbet (with the same wording and all), I know it's a deposit bonus. I'd understand why it is bothersome for some people, especially if they receive emails from both casinos since they (the emails) are so similar.

Edit: How they look next to each other in my inbox:

Yes, I know this is a trivial issue but if Redbet really wants itself ranked along the best they have to do better on these small things. That's called customer care. On this issue a big thumbs up to Guts. Havent tried Redbet yet as there is no ecocard depositing option and it wont happen for a good few months at least.

I have to agree - the wording needs to be changed :)

Yeah the offers are OK but the value is not. The wagering is also a bit steep.

I hope you don't mind, and I'm not being rude but I'm on the fence a bit here as I see a little bit of both sides here to be honest and I didn't come up with these promos.

1: The team at other times send emails that say (something like) Dear Gonkface, you have free spins on X slot - on the day new slots are released and other times - when there are free spins on your account. So when they say "You have" in the subject then you have got freebies.

Not saying "You have" in this case means "You haven't yet". Not clear of course but not entirely misleading. The subject says "Free spins on Slot X" The content of the email concerns free spins on Slot X.

2: These mails could say Dear Gonkface, Buy 50 free spins for 20 euros (or whatever) on Slot X - but you're not buying the free spins as such as you are still getting the cash so they are in a way "free" although they come with a WR that is in the T&Cs. You could argue that it should be stipulated in the subject line but that puts us at...
Dear Gonkface, You can get 50 extra freespins on Slot X (with a 35 or 40x wagering requirement) and you will also get the money you deposited.

Let's fix this then.... Tirilej - what would you have the non free freespins mails say? And take into account that these have to go in all languages, including Finnish, so they need to be concise. ;)

I'd rather you just offer a straight deposit bonus rather than using the misleading free spins wording, although then again I can't help but think that you've moved to this 'free spins' model because 'FREE SPINS ON SOUTH PARK!' looks better than '25% deposit bonus' in someone's inbox.

As it stands I have to work out what the offers are actually worth, because the number of free spins doesn't scale in a linear fashion with the deposit, and the value of the spins varies depending on what the minimum bet size for the nominated slot is, hence what the value of the bonus actually is.

The feedback in this thread is pretty consistent Andy, no one seems to like the wording of the emails.

As you said, and I and others too is that sure, it's not entirely misleading but not clear either.
The easiest would be to call the promotion something, whatever, but not include the word free in it.
A theme like ''Gonkface november promo'' would suit me better :p

Gonkface is my sister's nickname I always use it for email tests. :)

Nobody would open Dear Gonkface, here's your November promo!
We have to give people some clues what it's about.

In November we had
Daily free spins
weekend top ups
free free spins
some country specific promos
and a couple of these get extra free spins on your next deposit ones. If they all said November promo we'd get a bit of stick!

So come on folks, get constructive, how would you like to see these subject lines in your inbox?

Are you sure about that? Are people that small so they won't open up an email if they don't have a clue what's in it?
I do. If I just know they come from a reliable place, and as I said...I open every email from Redbet anyway.
I just don't like to get fooled.

I had no idea that you had several promos this month since I just have been getting these three, that I didn't like.
I'm not a huge depositor at Redbet but I have always liked them from the beginning.
I just ask that those who are writing the emails are a little careful with the wording, that's all.

Without a doubt on the first point. We could all save a fortune on copywriters and translations by simply numbering our promotional email subject lines
promo1, promo 2... promo 326... promo 987107 etc (not that we use copywriters here of course but you get my drift), I can see some appeal though, it would be like a never-ending advent calendar devised by an evil elf in Satan's south pole workshop.

I get you on point 2, I know they are reading this from their cave under the stairs so let's see what happens with the next not-quite-free-spins-but-you-are-getting-something-extra-for-your-deposit-and-it's-not-the-same-as-a-deposit-bonus-really-as-we-are-reframing-it-a-bit-like-Tescos-saying-buy-one-get-one-free-rather-than-33%-off-thingy email subject-line!

...and that was the whole point with starting the thread. To make them read and maybe maybe understand how we players feel.
I'll be waiting for the next promo ;)
