Statement from Warren Jolly

Haha, do you still have fingers? :)

As community member, I have a lot of questions about this comment:

This could be good or bad. It's a bit vague. For me personally, a lot will depend on how exactly this is applied. I am not enamoured with Affiliate Media staff "assisting in setting the overall tone and direction of the community".

I do like the "elected, independent group of industry experts". I think, lol. I have a lot of thinking to do. I would like to see a distinct separation between who runs the community and who runs the business. I don't want the business arm to set the overall tone and direction of the community in any way. I think, from a community member's point of view, that's where things ran afoul.

Yes I do Dom and I posted this after my last post at cap ,feel free to cancel my account there.I don't need it anymore ,between here ,PAL , GPWA,AGD I think I can keep up with industry events .

Other notable lines:

* Daffy, fighting with his $1.25 quarter staff : "Ho! Haha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha - THRUST!" (quarter staff bounces off log, smacking him in the face and bending his bill. He straightens it back to normal, and starts speaking to himself) "Let's see now. Something amiss here... hmm, I'll run through it. Ho, haha, guard, turn, parry, dodge, spin, ha - thrust." (bill bends again) "Got it." (straightens bill, and starts his fighting moves again.) "Ho! Haha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin!" (Porky comes up and holds a wooden dowel up against the quarterstaff while Daffy is spinning it, stopping it and causing Daffy to spin around. Daffy then falls back down into the lake)
* See yon rich unwary traveller? I'll rob him of his gold, and give it to some poor unworthy slob. That'll prove that I'm Robin Hood, hmm? Prithee, hmm?
* "YOICKS . . . and away!" (Daffy swings from a treetop and hits another tree) "YOICKS . . . . and away!" (Daffy swings from the other treetop and hits another tree. This happens a few more times, slurring his speech a little more each time, until he's at ground level. Porky rolls his eyes.) "Why you...!" (Daffy gets an axe and starts chopping down the last tree he hit. Eventually, all the trees that got in his way are now out of his path, and he is back on top of the first tree.) "Now then, YOICKS . . . and awayyyyyy . . ." (Daffy swings over all the trees he's chopped down and hits a rock)
* "Ho ho, very funny; Ha ha, it is to laugh."
* "Oh, knock it off. How jolly can you get?"

IMO the press like to sensationalise and anything they say/show can only reflect badly for the online gambling industry. Or do it, and play it down as a non-story might be a better option. The more press this receives, the more damage it does and not just to CAP.
I told the Media I would not talk to them.... I made the decision after I watched the last J Todd video.... Thats the end of this for me.

Now I am going to sit back and watch some folks (that will go nameless) try to mend the fences she tore down by kissing as much booty as she can as fast as she can... It should be quite entertaining. :)

No more personal jabs even if you don't name the person. I am not going to give any more warnings - from here on in I award vacations.

I am going to have a real problem trusting anyone that claims to be an affiliate advocate. I already have some concerns about a few things going on over at GPWA... I have now had three posts deleted at GPWA and they were not name calling or attacking posts.
I even told Michael today that I wanted to withdraw my application for private membership that I submitted just a week or so ago.

I submitted a new post about a program that was "certified" by GPWA that was delaying my payments and feeding me bullshit. The post was never published, but the unnamed affiliate program was informed about my post (that was never published) and the affiliate program the day after I submitted the post at GPWA made a public announcement about them changing their wire fees, after the fact.

Like In another post over at the GPWA...

lots0,

I don't think it is fair to make a post like this without even trying to contact us and determine what might have happened first.

We did not delete any post that you made on the GPWA forum. Rather, you made a post in the "GPWA Announcements" forum, which is only used by GPWA administration for making official announcements. The forum does not prohibit posts from being made by others, but any posts made are automatically moderated, and we generally do not accept posts made by others, although we will generally move them to another forum such as the chatter box if the post in the GPWA Announcements forum is not a duplicate post.

You did send a pm to me saying you wanted to withdraw your application for private membership at the GPWA, but you did not provide any clue as to why you made the request. I sent back a pm asking why, but never received any response back. It is only by finding this post on the Casino Meister forum that I am able to piece things together. And here I find the reason appears to be a false conclusion that we deleted posts of yours.

Also, we do not "certify" programs and make no claim of doing so. We do have forums for individual sponsor programs, so if you made a post about a sponsor program, there is some possibility that the post may have been moved into the specific forum for that program. Or if you made the same post more than once in more than one forum, it is possible that duplicate instances might have been removed.

But, in any event, you can rest assured that it is not our practice to delete posts made in our forums. I believe if you ask anyone that participates in the GPWA forum they will confirm our reputation is above reproach in this area.

I can vouch for that. :notworthy

CAP is prominent in the search engines. It is easy to find for newbies. Newbies need all the info they can get

I think its also fair to say that newbies need leadership with integrity.

like to see a distinct separation between who runs the community and who runs the business. I don't want the business arm to set the overall tone and direction of the community in any way. I think, from a community member's point of view, that's where things ran afoul.

There in lies the problem. As the community grows bigger it inevitably gives power to whoever owns the forum where the community resides.

I think its fair to say that it has already been proven that CAP owners have used this power to bully their way

Even if the community stays completely honorable (which I think they would) ... it wouldn't change the power that would lie in hands of the business side which could include such things as well if you advertise over there we are not going to allow you to advertise over here.

Where will the community be able to control these instances?

If the business side decides to open another casino and run ads about it while not allowing or selling ad space to their competitors ... is that not a monopoly?

Sure it is because the majority of the affs are going to be in a place where the competition cannot reach them.

The community will always be connected and will always benefit the owner of the forum which in itself isn't wrong but it is when that power is used in an unethical way.

We have seen it used in an unethical way.

Why begin building the very same scenario again when it can be avoided by simply finding a new forum?

Remember this has much further reaching implications than just a matter of where the aff chooses to hang out for the reasons mentioned. The least we can do is make an effort to prevent such instances.

After my experience with other self proclaimed affiliate advocates (like CAP), I thought it would be a waste of my time.
Sorry, but if you think my post is "Not Fair"... You should try looking at this from my point of view.

I can't PM you at GPWA (looks like my PM rights have been pulled there... lol)
So, I guess I'll tell you in public... Please pull my application for your private area.

OK, no problem. My mistake. But I am sure that after hearing my side of the events you can see how I came to the conclusion I did... I mean my post disappeared, the program involved came out the next few days (after the fact) with an explanation ad new policy...
Based just on circumstantial evidence, in my opinion, you were already convicted. :) I also don't see where you said you did not contact the program involved.

Sorry for not replying to your PM. I never logged back onto your board, until after I read this.

Just to repeat...

My misunderstanding. I thought that by advertising some affiliate programs and not advertising other programs you were "certifying" those programs you did advertise.

I was also stating a personal feeling... That I am going to personally have a hard time trusting any self proclaimed "Affiliate Advocate" when there is profit for the "advocate" involved.

Please understand I am not making a personal attack on you or yours. I am stating how I feel.

I don't know you, never met you, but people I know have told me your a good honorable guy. If that is the case, then I am sure you will understand why I wrote what I did after you have heard both sides.

However, as an affiliate, trusting any affiliate advocate group that profits directly from the casinos or their affiliate programs would be a rather foolish business move for individual affiliates, in my opinion.

Now hopefully we can talk Bryan or one those great CM Mod's into finally closing this thread. :D
