Starspins Casino Experiences?

One of the reasons i don't particularly like wallets like PP/Skrill etc: had about 2k plus tied up with Skrill for about 50 days; with some of the worst support ever encountered - as said, i'd personally just go with the card option these days. No fee's/no hassle in general.

Not sure if it's the case that casinos etc need to 'activate/sign up etc' to Visa Direct but more and more seem to be part of it now and probably more will be by the end of the year. Maybe it costs them more? I dunno....

Both things will depend on the merchant - some merchants simply don't allow payments to MasterCard cards, it's rarely a choice of the casino themselves. Ditto Visa Direct - this will be rolling out across the board, but these things always take time.

Yea that's my fear also. It seems these payment providers can change the goal posts anytime they want. My worst nightmare would be that if I happened to win tens of thousands of pounds, they'd then decide to make it very difficult for me to receive my winnings. As mentioned earlier, if PayPal can just decide to steal £50 from me, what would stop them & others stealing thousands.

I'd always go with a debit card for deposits & withdrawals. The problem I have is that I ran up so much silly debt in my early twenties, it's now near impossible for me to get a bank account offering a Visa card. I can only have paid online accounts where the only option is Mastercard. I only have myself to blame I suppose.

You may want to look into Starling bank. Online only, no fees. The card is MasterCard, but it'll save you money.

(Not a crappy bank either; allows cheque pay-in simply by taking a photo in the app.)

If you go to places like HSBC they'll have the basic account for those who don't qualify for the standard bank account/have poor credit etc. Know they gave my pal one after he failed to qualify for their current account (he'd more court judgements than a BBC presenter)

You should still be able to open a basic bank account no matter how much debt you have or how bad your credit rating.

Depending on Bank you will get either a Visa or Mastercard debit card.

Obviously it will only be a basic account with no overdraft facilities or anything like that but banks do open accounts for people no matter how bad their Credit Rating is.

Their was Government Regulation a few years ago to make sure everyone no matter their circumstances can get access to a basic bank account so not sure why you can only get an online account you pay for.

I applied for basic Loyds TSB & CO-OP bank accounts. I was turned down for both. This despite their terms clearly stating that the accounts are specifically targeted towards people with bad or even no credit. My credit score must make fascinating reading

bet it is a better score than mine:laugh:.

I know for a fact Clydesdale and Bank of Scotland or whatever they call themselves now will give accounts to anyone no matter how bad. But if any bank refuses you a basic account i would dispute it as they can't refuse it. Unless of course it is a bank you have bumped out of money already.

As per Mr Paul...though i remember the Citizens Advice carrying out some work and they found that folk still had trouble accessing one/banks not being clear on the basic a/c, that was a few years ago now. But you should be able to get one surely....

Providing you're not wracking up new debt and defaulting etc ur 'score' (however arbitrary), will start to improve as everything drops off after 6 years

Yeah, don't take one out in which you owe money to as I think some banks were 'offsetting' a number of years ago.

I was the same after/during Uni - i went on a credit card default rampage; i think at one point my score was nearing single digits. Took a good few years to climb back up, but it was nice to apply for something once sorted without beads of sweat trickling down my forehead.

Forgot to mention .

Although most basic accounts are available without Credit check as they are just basic accounts with no Credit facilities there are still a couple of reasons banks may refuse.

If someone has several Criminal convictions especially for fraud then Banks will probably refuse them even the basic account.

Yea I think I'll contact Citizens Advice. I don't have any new debt. The most recent is an overdraft I never paid with Tesco Bank back in 2017 which I would have paid/been paying off if they hadn't been so rude over the whole thing.

Single Digits

Think i tried my hardest to get the first ever minus credit score back in the day:p

Well I suppose non payment of an overdraft could potentially be seen as fraud. And the worst criminal offence I've ever committed was throwing eggs at my local cop shop in Oban :D

Aye, they also have similar on Monopoly Casino. Usually appears (on mobile) as a bar at the top of the screen. You have a few seconds to click it and then not win.

Have they substantially reduced the chance of triggering the AMAZING STAR SPINS BONUS ROUND?

I did a lot of spins this evening on stakes ranging from 30-60p and didn't see it once.

Admittedly I'm not really complaining as such, since it was always so naff and game breaking, but I almost ending up missing the abomination!

Just a quick update on this for anyone thinking about playing here.

I did quite a lot of play over two days on a £100 deposit, on my usual modest spins of 20-60p.

Off the back of a decent run of luck, my balance peaked at around £485 but I carried on playing, having already set myself a 'withdrawal point' of £350.

Unfortunately my luck did turn a little bit sour at this point, (Blueprint's KING KONG CASH in particular played like an absolute turd), and when my balance dropped to £350 I made a withdrawal request back to my VISA card.

This was at 20:45 last night, the status of the withdrawal changed to APPROVED within a few minutes, I checked this morning and it had changed again to SUCCESS and the £350 is in my bank account.

Not bad going at all, so a pretty solid experience from my side. The site was quick and lag free at all times, no crashes or disconnects, everything worked fine, and at the end of it all a withdrawal was paid overnight at the weekend. (They also seem to run all the highest RTP maths models where a choice exists.)

I didn't see the STAR SPINS BONUS ROUND once though!

Will definitely be giving the place another go.

EDIT - I have held the account at Star Spins since 2014, but I haven't played there since 2014 either! (In fact I think I only ever deposited there once, which is when I made the video linked earlier in the thread.) My account is not verified or anything like that, so just the sort of situation where you might expect a casino to play silly buggers when you turn the first deposit in ages into a cashout, but no such shenanigans occurred, which was nice.

Remember to login daily and play the free game; potential to win a few hundred weekly. You won't win that, but you'll generally get a few free spins at some point in the week, wager-free

This applies to all Gamesys sites; so long as you've deposited £10 (at the relevant site) since your account was opened, the free weekly games are available.

Cheers dan will do!

Have they changed the STAR SPINS BONUS ROUND? You indicated earlier in the thread that it still shows up from time to time and you don't win anything, just like in the old days, but that means there's no reason for it not to occur.

I did a pretty hefty number of spins and didn't see it once, which made me wonder if they'd changed it to something more like the old Jackpot Party model, whereby if the progressive round is triggered, you are guaranteed to at least win the smallest one.

I triggered it once, over several thousand of wagering, still didn't win it. However I did receive a sharepot of one (couple of quid lol), so someone got lucky

I can’t think of ever seeing it on Starspins, but it does pop up on Monopoly Casino from time to time.

Nice one, and quick withdrawal time! Unfortunately, I cannot say the same.

I requested a withdrawal last week (Tuesday evening) It was approved on Wednesday morning. I finally received the cash this morning just after 2am. So without including the weekend, it took the suggested 4 days to reach me via bank transfer. This isn't much use to me. It's like 2009 all over again. Plus, the likelihood of me getting a bank account which offers Visa/Visa Direct is not gonna happen.

Damn you Mastercard! Does anyone know what the actual issue is when using Mastercard at certain casinos? This may have been explained before, but I have a sieve for a brain.
