A wise choice. regarding the type of story chosen indeed my friend as writings and illustrations of those times have all been found to be mythical or just fairy tales so there is no other sort.Oh, we get a room?
I'll pick @bamberfishcake for the eye candy and @snorky510238 to read me fairy tales of a time when slots were once fair and not rigged.
Are you sitting comfortably @snorky510238 then I'll begin... Once upon a time, in a northern town not so far away, there was an arcade and in that arcade was a wide range of beautifully manufactured slots from the likes of Barcrest, JPM, Maygay, and Bell Fruit. Such joyful times they were, as the punters lined up in the morning with there bristling giros, ready to win a fortune on these wonderful machines. The lights, the sounds the magic, as the doors flung open and punters sprinted in to get on their favorite! These unrigged slots of old, some of which even had an RTP of up to 72%, always paid out the big bucks. Especially if you were a gambling man, that liked to exchange cash for nudges! The jackpot was always lurking, ready to pay you £3 in tokens, which of course had no monetary value and had to be played back through the machines...A wise choice. regarding the type of story chosen indeed my friend as writings and illustrations of those times have all been found to be mythical or just fairy tales so there is no other sort.
Actually I used to write stories when I was much younger. I had a spell of about 4 years during which I wrote 20 short stories (a couple of sides of A4). They were in the style of Terry Pratchett but obviously not as good.
They were totally nonsensical and basically pure stupidity but that was acceptable in the eighties, it was acceptable at the time (nearly burst into song), You had comedy shows like the “The Young Ones”, which was unbelievably popular so you can imagine the mood and the sense of humour most youngsters shared.
Throughout the years I have always fancied having another crack at it but my wild imagination that enabled me to create those stories isn’t the same nowadays but maybe I could counteract that by using other skills, all be them minimal that I have gained since those times.
I might just give it one last try if I can conjure up that bizarre sense of humour one more time. It can be my project whilst lockdown continues and if I think it’s half decent I will post it and if not we will never mention it again.
