So after some nice hits i want to withdraw 5k euro. I get a pop u screen some questions regarding sow. How do i finance my online slotting. After that questions i can withdraw my money and it just hit my bank account. Is this a sign that the casino is gonna give me a real sow soon? I dont want to share my private life with a casino to be honest.

If you don't say which casino, no one will be able to help as they are all different. If you say which one then others may have had the same happen and be able to advise.

Here, There, Everywhere.
In Australia, in order to apply for a mortgage/loan, (although 'Responsible Lending Laws' are now being revised in the wake of COVID-19), previously banks could demand information relating to:

  • Netflix/FOX subscriptions
  • Uber eats/Food delivery services
  • Buy now, pay later platforms
  • Coffee purchases
  • Lunch/dinner expenses
  • Friday night drinks
  • Cinema/theatre excursions

The criteria for determining whether or not a mortgage/loan was financially viable had become "overly prescriptive, and responsible lending has become restrictive lending. You’re having people justify Netflix and Uber, which is ridiculous … banks were becoming overly cautious for fear of litigation down the track.”

Substitute UK casinos for banks and this really does appear to be the reality, under poorly written and misunderstood UKGC guidelines, that has led to the very intrusive SOW practices some casinos are now demanding, because of fear of litigation and massive fines.

As I have said before in other threads, there is no way I would provide a casino with unredacted bank statements that show specific expenditure - income source if I had no choice, but the rest is my business, and nothing at all to do with a casino.

A casino, ffs! Believing they have the right to analyse my spending patterns, when even banks no longer require this level of detail, and then to add insult to injury, determine not only if I can afford to gamble, but to set arbitrary deposit limits 'for my own protection'.

I repeat...A casino, ffs!!!

Rant over!

Yep, it's absolutely bonkers and I think most of us agree on that one!

Casino is required by law depending on different thresholds set by the business to verify source of wealth and source of funds.

Two reasons for this.
1. Anti money laundering rules
2. Responsible Gambling/Affordabiity checks.

While the information is 100% intrusive all regualted operators are meant to carry out these checks. If you opt not to submit the documents they can restrict your withdrawal. They will mainly leverage point one for this, if you don't do the checks they can claim you are an AML risk which could be the case.

Nobody wants to do SOW, it would make the operators lives a lot easier if they didn't have to do it as well but with increasing scrutiny on the industry these checks are becoming a lot stricter.

The one reassuring thing is that if you are playing with a licenced and regulated operator that is not Curacao your information is actually very safe. There are brands that are committed to following regulations and will only use your data for the checks they are meant to. After you supply the information if you don't want to play there anymore, depending where you live, you can request all your data from them and also ask them to erase it. Since gambling companies have some financial laws they need to follow they can't erase everything but they should be able to rease the majority of it I would think.

I believe though if you find an operator you trust and you know they are committed to the regulations you should atleast feel safe playing with the. Being able to play at multiple other brands with a worse offering or who don't actually monitor your well being is a big trade off.
