I am a big fan of Dunover's Youtube videos and would like to ask him the following:

What is the biggest win you have had and how many wins of over 1000x have you had?

Do you know roughly if over your gambling years you are in profit?

Where do you see slots going in the next 10 years?

Do you ever get fed up of slots and want to walk away from playing them?

He seems to get fed up even when winning hahaha :p

First question - 4-Reel Shitstorm TS2 about 2800x, 5 scatters DoA 2500x, 7 Rapist Bonuses of 1000-2000x, 5 Gold bars/wilds bonus spins BDBA 2778x, Wild Rockets 1004x bonus, 2x Explorers (4 OAK Bonuses) BoRe Deluxe so 13 in all.

Second - definitely a significant loss, as with nearly all those whom have played for many years (unless winning a jackpot or a freak high-stakes win.)

Third Question - There are in excess of 150 developers and the catalogue of slots is expanding rapidly. New ideas are rare, hence numerous clones of BoRe Deluxe, St*rb*rst, Twin Spin, Thunderhorn/Rapist-style slots etc. Html5 will soon predominate the scene, with less defined graphics and reduced options on games (like choosing pay-lines) but quicker play cycles. To see a casino offering only 1 software developer will become a rarity, such as the MG Vipers.

One thing which I have tried and which you WILL see is both classic older slots and new ones being made on a Virtual Reality platform too - you will wear a headset/goggles linked by USB or more likely Bluetooth to your PC or wireless to your network. You operate the games by looking at the buttons you need (a red dot is present) and the slots will be in 3D with sound effects/vibrations and all the bells and whistles. I tried the Join Gaming one at ICE and when the pick-feature occurs the floor blocks rumble away and you see a hidden room of artefacts to break for prizes. It is amazing and with the headsets becoming cheaper ever month and you will be able to play VR 3D slots at all the big casinos in the next few years, and trust me it's well worth experiencing! Imagine a 3D slot where the Turd appears and does his big-win display!

Last Question - I play intermittently due to work commitments, I have 'clusters' of play then don't play for weeks until the next session. Quite simply slots bore me quite quickly and taking a week or two away makes then them tolerable for short periods, sort of like the missus. As one of my 3 'jobs' involves playing new releases to review and understand them, then do some quite complex data entry for another role (plus of course making a video review if from a bigger developer!) I have enough exposure to slots without needing to play them for real. But don't get me wrong, I like a session or three each month for real play - I should though try different ones than the same 8 or 10 I tend to gravitate to, maybe that would alleviate the boredom factor!

I notice you do tend to stick to rhino, book of ra and twin spin would be nice to see some vids from slots you don't normally play as you have slayed the rhino, set the book of ra on fire and Thawed the Thor. I am surprised you won so many times on Dead or even Deader I can't get any sort of win on it.

Best win i had was a 1000x + win on Golden Ticket never got near a big win other than that.

I think VR of games is quite a good idea but hopefully they won't just do Starburst type games and can make them more interesting in a Knightmare type of way.

My friend has a VR headset hppefully if these happen he will let me see how they work.

Netent first showcased VR years ago. It's good but the development required and the ROI is almost certainly not enough to make it viable - i'm yet to be convinced. And IGT do have VR.

I definitely hope to see more innovation though. Thunderkick have been innovative regardless of whether you see their games as good or not....

Yes, they said that about VHS/Betamax VCR's in the 1980's, the LED calculator in the 1970s, home computers. mobile phones in their early days. These were all 'must haves' at their initial stages that hardly anyone could afford, and the infrastructure wasn't there. But where there is demand and cross-usage (i.e. VR headsets commonplace for games consoles will be able to run slot games) there will be supply and investment and then mass production. Trust me, if could play your slots in VR you'd unlikely go back to LCD screens.

Come back to this page in 2020 and I'll bet you many of the members here will be playing at least some games in VR.

Sooner the better, I can finally get my finger's around that Sarah bitches throat from IR and feed that Horned MF'er a bullet or 100.

Seriously though something has got to give in way of major development as yourself, I and a good many others on here alone are stating that they are enjoying their session less and less and getting bored far too easily.

Yes, the issue here is the hardware. Netent, Play N Go, Amatic, Join Gaming, Novo, Yggdrasil and several smaller developers have games available now in VR at test stage as I have witnessed. VR can be offered in the same game as standard format, similar to how 3D games will work now on a standard screen mode.

Hardware - this will probably be marketed ultimately by X Box or Sony and mass-produced at an affordable price. Shortly after this the slots will come online. Obviously Netent aren't going to offer all their players a subsidized headset suitable only for slots.

So the final scenario will be similar to TV's - the games console producers (except Sony) don't make the TV's but they are instrumental in the use of their products. Once VR headsets become an item of mass consumption, the games will play on them.

I'm not sure you'd be able to have certain interactions with the games though, like shoot the Rhino and rip it's horns out after a BoG or punch the Turd for its pointless animation after the last free game.

As I have a Samsung smart tv do you think that they will make VR available for those type of tv's quicker or would it be more for games consoles?

I always wondered about the 234,720,1000+ ways and how you count the wins.

Example if I have 3 rhinos on all 6 reels (18 rhinos total) how much would the payout be if I bet 0,40€ and how do you do when you count it, what kinda math (?) do you use?

You can't get that in the base game (max 15 = 3,2,2,2,3,3) but only in the bonus and you would get 3x3x3x3x3x3 (729 ways) Rhinos @ 7.5 x stake = 5467.5 x bet. You would also get a varying amount of crocs of at least 27x 4-of-a-kind so would get a minimum of just over 5.5k x bet. At 40p that's £2200....

Im a total noob but how do you know 3x3x3x3x3x3 is 729 ways? Im really confused when it comes to ways, so bare with me.

VR requires sensory isolation, so to see the true effect you need enclosure, either a headset which controls what you see and hear in 3D or one of those enclosed sit-down spaces with the surround-screen and controls all inside, like an advanced version of one of those arcade shoot'em up or driving games.

You can't get the full experience unless totally immersed, i.e. no distractions like a meouwing cat, nagging missus or any other background noise or visions.

A 'way' is not a winline, but any single permutation of consecutive winning symbols from left to right. So say you get double rhino reel 1 and singles on the last 5 reels, you have 2x1x1x1x1x1 winnings ways (permutations). Thus you get 2x the pay for 6-OAK rhinos at 7.5x bet, thus 15x bet.

Next game you get 3 rhinos reel 1 then 2 reel 2, singles on 3,4,5 and 3 rhinos on last reel - so you have 3x2x1x1x1x3 6-OAK permutations (18) x 7.5x stake (the pay for a single 6OAK Rhinos) so you win 7.5x18=135x stake win.

Pornhub casino will be my destination of choice :p

The problem with VR is that you'll have no idea if anyone else just walked into the room or is outside your window :eek2:

On the subject of boredom, I'm not quite sure why (I think it's the reel motion) but HTML5 is taking the fun out of a lot of games for me, especially the MGS ones: I'm looking for the Flash versions or not playing them. My favourite ever game, Thunderstruck loses something big-time in HTML5 - it's actually pretty boring. Although WMS games like Rhino play pretty good. The HTML5 implementations on Novomatic games also lose something in translation IMO.

Dunno about that having a bunch of hairy balls coming at you at full speed isnt my cup of tea, but maybe its yours?;)

Only if they're you're own.

Actually, you could integrate that with Raging Rhino, the beast serving your balls up to you after every bonus round....

It always was. :)

But agreed, the html5 games do lose substance from the originals. Imagine TS1 or the Rhino in VR (like we saw at JoinGaming at ICE) - you could have some seriously good effects, like stampeding Rhinos after the big hits, or animations of Thor in battle during a rare big hit on TS1. I'm sure Microcloning would revamp their biggest titles into VR, after all they love reworking old games...

P.S. anyone seen that photo we got with Conker on that Join Gaming VR stand, with the fit girl standing with us? :D

I think you should give yourself a challenge something like 1000x in 1000 games, see how many games you can get 1000x or if that is too challenging 500x in 500.

you can choose the 500 or 1000 games and see if it is possible to get a big win in as many casino games as possible then make a montage of it. (you don't have to include Bonanza as you would be knocking on the devil's gate down below before you got a big win on that).

In that case you'd better start Crowdfunding me as I would be bankrupt in 3 months....:D

All very nice having wonderful VR immersion, but I'll be no happier to lose to a miserably designed "modern" NetEnt paytable than in 2D. It's all still about the game's true potential and compensation. I hope.

I think there's too much change for the sake of it. Companies will try to force this tech into the mainstream, but just because it's available doesn't mean it has to be implemented for everything.

VR was quite ropey back in '93 and although it's better now, we're still nowhere near to realizing its true potential. It's just a bunch of curios and glorified tech demos to be honest. Using headsets for videogames is where it's at but not for slots. Talk about overblown pretentiousness.....they're just..... slots.

I expect this VR fad will fizzle out and we'll be playing 2D clones until the next reincarnation sometime in 2030

I think VR is on the precipice, everyone remember how 3D TV's were going to take over?

A year ago, it looked like it was gathering steam, and being pushed to the moon. I'm not feeling that now. Add in costs are still high (headset and VR worthy graphics card, or a supposed console that can handle it). Ugly PR with Occulus and Zenimax feuding.

No killer applications for the headsets just yet, more things just pushed onto it, solving a problem nobody needed solving.

I'm a ICT engineer, i work in tech, love tech, love games, and spend money on the latest PC equipment. But I'm just not arsed with this, don't know why.

I guess I like to drink beer when gaming, and I won't be able to get the delicious IPA in my piehole with that cyberman get up on.

The new headsets simply aren't much bigger than safety goggles, and cover eyes with speakers over your ears in the strap. Your mouth and nose are clear, so you can pick your nose, drink beer an swear at inanimate objects without restriction. I wouldn't recommend boozing with them though, as unless sitting down the 3D VR (like floor falling away etc.) may make you a bit dizzy or disorientated and honk your beer up, which is a waste.
