Question Slot Feature hit rates and what to expect

So I just basically am done with bonanza, having gone over 7000 spins without a feature, which i finally hit it on and ofcourse it was horrible.

The avg. hitrate for it- as far as I know is 1/450 and you shouldnt expect too much of it.
Then again, my experiences with this slot have been quite bad.

Now ive been playing merkurs knights life, gone through around 3000 spins on it and had two features in that time, both paying less than 25x. Upon asking i found out that my rtp for that period was 55% Which made me really frustrated, but then it got me thinking that I dont even know what the 'norm' is for that slot.

So, what if- We could collect a little bit of knowledge from different slots that- people who then are not farmiliar with them could get a little insight on what to expect from them.
Basically telling:
The average spins to feature.
own experiences and how that has worked out for you?

Would atleast be intresting for me to know about knights life.

If this is a totally useless idea or there already is a thread for it then sorry :D

Well I imagine the casinos know the feature hit rates as the developers and therefore providers have it down to a science but I doubt it's information ever made public. I'm not sure it's even something sharing personal data from players would help to any real proximity due to volatility...I mean let's say a feature should appear every 250 spins..due to the random.nature of slots that could be at any end of the spectrum..like first spin then 499 spins later or back to back.. ex 250th spin and 251st.
Its probably why we say expect a feature around every 250.spins but see.wild ranges of hundreds to thousands before seeing one.

Just 2 cents. Curious to read more. I imagine trance will hop in and share within the boundaries of what he can.

1/450 sounds EXCEPTIONALLY high for any slot - where did you get that info from?

I haven't played the game very much (and not likely too either, after reading all the stuff about it on here :eek2:), but when I did I got the features much more frequently than once every 450 spins...

I think it is about 1/450 IIRC when I spoke to their chap in London. That explains why runs of 1500-2000 spins featureless aren't unusual.

Bonanza is a freak and not really like other slots, DOA to a lesser extent with its strange variance.

I recall how your average slot feature would be every 150 spins or so, but it seems to have crept up to the 200- 250 mark.

And everyone knows that if you wait an eternity for a feature with your bankroll decimated that the bonus is more often than not 'disappointing' :(

I can give you hit rates for Netent slots, but not other providers.

Netent averages around 1:150 spins but then a lot of their slots are low - medium variance drivel.

Meanwhile, you have slots with multiple bonus / FS features and on top random ones in the base games which eat a good chunk of the RTP, hence the choices are either reduced hits in the base game or reduced frequency / win potential in the Free Spins.

As for Bonanza, my average hit rate is around the 1:500 mark with an average payout over 100+ Free Spin rounds well above 100x bet.

Examples (1% = 1:100 spins):

Butterfly Staxx

HIT FREQUENCY
- Total: 24.13%
- Re-Spins: 6.03%
- Butterfly Spins: 0.34%

Wild Wild West

HIT FREQUENCY
- Main game: 21.6%
- Free Spins: 0.6922%
- Pick and Click: 0.418%

Anyone have an idea how often features trigger on average on merkur slots, specifically knights life as it ponders me that
Hitting two features in 3000 spins, but then you would also need a retrigger for a good win, but that surely is easier to get. But you probably need alot of features anyway to get that retrigger.

But then I see all these streamers play on like 2,50 and up with- not even that big balances tbh and hit the features. As ive lost 100€ on 25p spins in no time at all during a couple sessions.
So what should I expect, Is the feature really that hard to trigger or am I just unlucky as usual?

I've watched quite a lot of Slotspinner who plays a whole lot of Merkurs, and he really has a lot of bad streaks too, but they don't end on youtube. Also because most streamers get 100 or 200 per cent bonuses it's easier for them to bet higher, which in turn gives them higher wins which again looks better on youtube.

I've had some sessions where hundreds of spins gives nothing on Knight's Life or Gold of Persia, but my biggest Knight's Life win (2000x) came from my first spin on the slot. And I think that's the second time that happened (first spin freespins).

I'm more annoyed by Gold of Persia where I see everyone get retriggers after retriggers and over my 4 bonuses including a 4 scatter one has never gotten a single retrigger.

The community stats on Slot Tracker tell you the information you want. I've done games with 1 in 100 features up to 1 in 600, although I know if games that are higher than that. But those that are higher tend to have interesting base games with lots of other things going on.

As a producer I want to try and make the experience interesting... To make sure something interesting happen every X number of games. What that number is varies by many factors I can't go in, although none are "dodgy"...

But suffice to say that the feature on Bonanza is so volatile and pays so much that they had no choice. It was a very brave move because that profile only really appeals to a small group of players normally.

Knights Life is a really high variance slot (most merkur slots are but this is even higher variance), i dont know the hitrate but the freespins are extremly rare.
Basegame hits are alos uncommon so be careful at that slot.

I dont know why so many people try to hit something on Bonanza with so many spins, especially when so many people complain its really tight.
Ive tried it too but it was rather boring (i like danger high voltage a lot more) so i stick to other slots.

I must add that i am very cautios with these BTG slots after the shilled screenshots on Dragon Born...

Most of the Merkur's are high variance simply because they have only 5 pay lines. The bonus is very infrequent too because it can pay absolutely massive in the bonus rounds, especially Knight's Life that can give multiple wild lines in the bonus each one paying well over 1,000x (well theoretically it can, though I have never seen multiple wild lines on any of the usual channels)

The number of lines does not necessarily equate to variance... You could have a high variance 243 way game or 100 line game...

that's the case anyways though. you bonus average is 50x+- a few. given that there's some high paying rounds like 1000x you have so many
close to nothing rounds.

playing slots is hard work, imo.

Just out of curiosity waiting days for my apparent instant withdrawal of £120 to be processed at slots million I reversed and played Danger High Voltage at low stakes.

Start balance £120
End balance £71.36
Total spins .20 stake - 350
.60 stake - 200
.40 stake - 100
No feature. 20 heartstoppers biggest reel hit £36. Plenty of 20-40x stake wild x6 hits to tick the balance over but never ahead.

Feels like the casino wants me to lose my original winnings not the RNG of the slot being off

That is what this slot (and Bonanza, but even more extreme) can do for you unfortunately. Not the easiest of slots to trigger a feature on if they are in a taking mood.

Are they designed to tilt though? It seems often when you get a relatively quick feature it can pay quite well. The ones where you chase it always seem to pay rubbish. Or is that just my brain? I've had to give up on IR for a bit because I'm sure the bonuses are getting further apart. 500-600 spins without a bonus seems quite common now.

I've often wondered if it's designed to tilt, so your not alone there. All slots are relatively the same. Wait ages, pay loads and get a dud feature. It's in most people's nature at this point to up the bet and try to claw back the losses. Back in the day this was the mindset of the pub fruity gambler.

At least it's not just me. The more I read this forum, the more I feel I need a new hat ;) A shiny one maybe?
