I tried cashing out some funds from my skrill account to my bank account. But it has niot been prossesed after 3 days.

And this is unusual as all my bank transfers from skrill has always been prossesed within hours and usually arrives in my bank account the same day.

So i decide to call them and they tell me they are having technical issues with bank transfers in my country(Norway) and it could take beyond 5 buisness days to fix but if i wanted they could cancel it and i could use it from my skrill account. I tried explaining that i cannot pay fore anything in Norway from my skrill account and since its a rather large amount id prefer it in my bank.

They told me i should have it by the end of next week.. But thats easter hollidays lol.

I find it abit odd that a banks technical issue would take days to fix? These sort of thinga are usually fixed within hours.. What is going on?

I am in the same situation.

Tomorrow March 23 is the last regular banking day before Easter, which means that the earliest Norwegian skrill users will get their money is March 29.

What annoys me is that i have since found out that this has been a problem for a week already, and yet they haven't informed anyone, you only discover it after you have requested a withdrawal. I hope it's just "technical difficulties".

I have been using skrill since 2012 with no major issues, but this situation is worrying.

But who regulates them? They cannot just take money from every customer like that?

Skrill is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority of the United Kingdom (FCA). FCA regulation means that Skrill must comply with some of most stringent payment services regulations in the world.
Skrill is developed with the same demands on security and performance as the sites used for bank services and share trading. Your account login, personal details and all money transactions are secured using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology with high security 128-bit encryption, certified by VeriSign.

I'm not worried about the money per se, more about their ability to continue to provide their services to Norwegians. I find it odd that they are having "technical issues" for over a week without informing their customers. I do hope they are being honest, but with Norway being a gray market when it comes to gambling and gambling related transactions i wouldn't be surprised if it's something more than a "technical problem".

Skrill does hold a bank account with DNB, which is why we normally get withdrawals in under 24 hours and why they are able to pay us directly in NOK. It could be that their volume of gambling related withdrawals have finally caught the attention of Finanstilsynet( The Financial Supervisory Authority Of Norway). The banks aren't allowed to process direct gambling transactions, which is why all casinos are using third party payment providers to handle Norwegian card transactions, and why we can't load our skrill accounts with card deposits.

When you withdraw from a casino back to a Norwegian bank account the money is never sent in NOK directly, it always comes through a chain of international banks. In my experience either directly from Malta or via Finland, France or Germany.

Skrill bypasses this by having a Norwegian bank account, i don't think this is directly illegal since skrill themselves aren't running a casino. But it's probably a gray area, so something might have changed behind the scenes here or it could be as innocent as they are making it out to be. I really don't know.

I wouldn't worry about the money, worst case scenario if they are no longer allowed to process directly from their Norwegian bank account is that they will have to pay us the same way as the casinos currently do. So one way or another we will get paid.

They still claim they dont have a timeframe. The consultant i talked with today said initially he tought it would only take a few days tops. But they have no idea how long. Ive waitied fore about two weeks now.

Im pretty sure its other things going on than "tecnical problems". The tax report(or whatever the english word for "selvangivelse" is) is this thursday. Im sure its the taxman requesting some report or something from skrill. Maybe freezing all transfers untill this is done.

Do you not have the Skrill Mastercard?
This card enables you to withdraw cash from any ATM.
I have this card linked to my Skrill account and it allows me to pay in shops/bars/restaurants and withdraw up to 500 Euro daily if the balance is there of course. ;)

You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

No i dont have the mastercard unfortunately. And my account is in NOK, mastercard is in euro ATM in Norway is NOK, so im quite sure they will charge ALLOT of fees on each withdrawal because money will be converted 2 times.

And its a much bigger amount than 500 euros so i would have to make several withdrawals. The thing that makes me axiuous is that i had ordered a new laptop that costs 25000 NOK, expecting this money. If i dont get it i have to pay this as an unexpected bill and thats allot of money.

I just find it odd that technical problems takes weeks to sort out. I hope the money is safe.

Ah ok,fair enough.
Yeah the issue seems to take a long time.
Now that said,I am with Skrill for many years and I had never issues with monies that were on my account.
Prior to the Mastercard I used that withdraw to bank option a few times also and I always got it in my bank.

I am sure they are working around the clock to get it resolved.

Only minus with Skrill is,they always give very little information when there is an issue ongoing.
Even I find that being a Skrill VIP member. ;)

But I am sure you will get your money mate.
