Skill on Net - the latest to reduce RTP

Yeah, and if it wasn't for that 'Wild West' there probably wouldn't have been any need for the UKGC.
Totally agree mate, massive case of ‘ made your bed now lie in it ‘

don’t have any sympathy for most, but it’s a shame for the few decent brands that don’t now stand a chance.

MG now can alter RTP? No way?
I do cover this from time to time on my channel, the reduction to MG RTPs in particular I flagged up because I think it's pretty scummy that they're going back and gimping a lot of the classics, even really old games like Thunderstruck. (The original that is, not TS2!)

There are 92% versions of TS2 out there which suggests they'll offer the same for IR too.

My conclusion is:

1) Stick to a small number of casinos who only offer the top RTPs.

and

2) Even then, check the help file every time you load in a game before you start spinning.

I hope all of you realize how lucky you are.
You live and play on Countries / Markets where the RTP displayed in the helpfiles is the REAL one.

Try to imagine....

(and no, I'm not a crazy visionary, or at least I'm the same crazy visionary who talked about lowered RTPs a few years ago  )

Some operators might as well use different versions of games for different markets which gives one more challenge to keep up to date listings if willing it to be accurate.

Nope. I won't play at casinos using the lower RTP versions..

They need to be publicly highlighted and humiliated.
At least half of that blame goes to the providers who offer identical versions of their games but with a lower RTP. Fuck that.

They don't have to do it, they choose to. Popular slot providers such as BTG, Push Gaming and NoLimit (I think) don't do it.

Naturally, providers are making more profit when a game is making more profit.
That is until enough players know about the reduced RTP, and stop playing those versions.
Or maybe don't actually know about RTP, but start realising they aren't getting the return or play-time they used to get and stop playing those versions.

The same could be said for those casinos who reduce the RTP. They may eventually only be making the same amount of money as they did before reducing the RTP because of a reduction of players/deposits.
Or, at least, not be making as much as they expected to, by reducing the RTP

It's ongoing work to find balance which one provides you best return, same like ie. taxation, if tax percent is too high, it will generate less income. Lik in gambling it's quite common thought that pain point for taxing gaming companies is somewhere bit under 20%, making it 30% would make many to leave and rest providing products which wouldn't be tempting enough to play like slots with 60% RTP or huge fees in deposits/withdrawals.

Casinos and game providers of course are looking to provide games where they can get much as possible and people still play them, slots in nature have to have high RTP:s, there wouldn't be many gamling addicts or active players if RTP:s would be 50-60%, therefore these changes are made so small that games are not totally different (except many keep stating that they of course recognize lower versions, still happy to make £$E1000 bet with anyone who can recognize 2 from 5 with different RTP:s just by playing them a day) but very little tweaked.

NoLimit does offer it...

you should play on maria casino, they seem to take in the highest rtp games, also if you hold the mouse pointer over a game there you can see game RTP and volatility. And they have some nice slots at 98% RTP, like steamtower , guns, and roses, the new gonzo mega way game +++

The beer is getting watered down everywhere now. You could be getting as low as 92% (IGT) 91% (Gnatent) 91-92% (MG) 88% (Play'nGo) 90% (Blueprint, Playtake). the day WMS and BTG join this race to the bottom, I will GAMSTOP for 5 years, on camera and shout 'FUCK IT!'

Well it's kind of up to us as players to an extent, it genuinely boggles my mind as to why people choose to set fire to their money playing at casinos running lower RTPs. I get that perks can make up for some of it, but IMO nothing's going to make up over the long term for a 50% increase in the house edge, which is what a move from 96% to 94% represents.

Seriously folks, if no one plays the gimped versions, they'll stop putting them out there.

RTP should absolutely be factored into the CM rating. It might not be a rogue practice, but it is certainly anti-player.
Casinos can tell me they are doing it out of necessity all they bloody well like.

The fact that some casinos still choose to offer their players the highest RTP available, even when they have the option
(or should I say "business opportunity"?) to offer a lower RTP tells me one thing....

That the casinos who offer lower RTP (and some don't even have the decency to be up front about it - yeah VS, I am looking at you)
are doing so for one reason and one reason alone....pure greed.
Like they don't make enough money already...

Going back to the CM rating, there should be a higher penalty for failing to (or should I say deliberately choosing not to?)
inform the player of said RTP reductions before commencement of play.

To not make the player aware of such changes should be classed as an act of dishonesty and the CM rating should reflect on
the operator's willingness to act in that dishonest fashion.

it's the move from 96.65% to 92.05%, as Skill-on-net have done with TSII etc. Which will really make a difference, never mind just dropping to 94%

Any intellegent operator will try and get the correct balance between number of plays and rtp to maximise profit.
but some online operators just seem to be greedy and take the simplistic view that overall revenue will increase at
the same rate as the house edge, which aint going to happen, all that will happen is players will go elsewhere or avoid
the games where the rtp has been slashed. When i try play n go games now (which is very rare) its always at the back
of my mind that i am playing on a shit percentage, same with Red tigers, hardly touch them but used to love some of the games.
Would do a lot of good if rtp,s were clearly displayed on the game icons, you shouldnt need to go searching through help
files after loading the games.

I would like to see RTPs hard coded into paytables, I dont trust external help files unless it served by the provider, but many casinos swap it out for their own versions.
