Site facelift - Tuesday 17 August

When I had to replace my old CRT monitor with a flat screen I had a horrible time finding one that I could calibrate correctly. I returned 2 monitors before I found one that I could calibrate so that it actually shows onscreen what it will look like printed - that's important for the work I do. I find that most flat screen monitors are WAY too bright no matter how much you adjust them.

That being said, my monitor displays probably a lot differently than the rest of you, but the blue bars and background yellow could be toned down a bit, I agree.

Too funny! How true! Ok, I think I know what is so intense...it is the deep red against the blue...doesn't go together...one or the other needs to be softened..you can keep the same color scheme but the intensity is too much next to each other..(I will go for the gold too!)

Look at the bar up top in the deep red...too intense...yep..just looked again...one or the other needs to be softened...JMO...

But hey, I'm obviously in the minority....so I'll just pop on some shades when I visit.

Pinababy69, I am glad you broke the ice first...cause I am not too fond of the colors either..I liked the soothing swirls of bieges...and at times the holiday colors...but this is in your face, WOW....like..ouch??

OK I do like the new color scheme of the content.
Can I say though that it clashes with the main theme now, the golden toned background that matches the "casinomeister" in the header. I suppose because it's the trademark it can not be changed....however if it could maybe it could be a color that would synch up with the red, white and blue more?

Just my opinion (and my analness about coordinating).

Edit: You know how when you go out and the sun is to bright, then you come in the house and can't see for awhile till your eyes adjust? Well that's what my eyes are doing now after looking at the changes, I went to get a cup of coffee and can't see!!!!!

I'd suggest making the Gold page background a slight off-white or grey - I find it clashes a bit with the red and blue but definitely an improvement on the Brown and yellow scheme IMO.

That Blue is so intense it is burning out my retinas, any chance it could be a little more pastel?
I mean the colour itself is fine but not when I am trying to read.
Otherwise it is more cheery than the old colour scheme, good job.

I've always been drawn to the earth tones. Gold works fine for me especially fading to black. The red is fine because it's not really red. Bright red would have killed me.

It's the white. White is fine for a page you don't plan on looking at for long but it's far too bright to stare at for any amount of time. I foresee eyestrain and monitor headaches in the near future.

This is just my opinion. Any web page I've built I've always toned the white down a bit with a slightly beiger (beiger is not really a word) eggshell or something slightly darker than 255,255,255. Those three numbers together are worse than 666!

The "old" color scheme I definitely prefer - just like an old friend. If an old friend suddenly had a makeover like this I would definitely be startled as well!

When I opened up CM tonight I thought it must be some sort of national holiday celebration in the US. In my humble opinoin, I think you need to consult with an alternate graphic artist this time. Colour scheme right now is not very inviting.... sorry!!

Guess I'm another voice of dissent The old look was much easier on the eyes and looked a lot more professional, imo. It kinda looks like a work in progress now. Sorry CM

Yes, we have this capability, and it looks like this is something that I'll have to implement here since everyone has different opinions about my artwork

Give it a day or two, and I can come up with several templates to choose from. Unfortunately, the only thing I won't be able to change are the buttons - they aren't part of the template.

I've gotta say that the new look is pretty great. It definitely looks a lot more modern. It has been a while since I visited so when the page loaded I was worried I might have come to the wrong site, but then I looked and was like woah...nice! Thanks for making a change

Okay - here is why I like messing with things - you learn a lot.

I'm able to create an endless amount of templates and allow you - the members - to choose what you want to use. Images are included in the change.

I've recreated the Casinomeister "Classic Gold" for you oldtimers who don't like the change. Please scroll down to the bottom of your screen - on the bottom left you'll see two "styles" to choose from: "Classic" and "Current".

I'll be adding more as time permits - I'll try to appease the teeming masses

I'm open for requests as well

Thank you so much Bryan. I am back to the old style, and much prefer it.

I tried Simmo's, but it was the same as the new style...which tells me that it was the white that was bugging me. And I don't just mean I didn't care for it..I mean it literally hurt my head and eyes when I first loaded the page. The soft beige/yellow is much better for me.

With the old style, I see the "Nominate" image is missing. I'm only seeing a red X. I'm guessing the function itself will still work, just the button image is missing. Just a heads up.

And the "white" is really light grey - not white. Your screen may be tweaked to display brighter than norm.
