Bogus Complaint Seem to have been labelled a "Bonus Abuser" without actually receiving a bonus?

Despite LaHutti's interest, I suggest the OP not discuss the issue further here if he is going to PAB. That's one of the conditions of the PAB process.

Ok I am filling in the form now so I shall refrain from further comment and allow events to take their natural course.

Thanks for all the responses! I am keen to get to the bottom of this matter :)

Bye for now.

PAB received.

@njack75: please check your email. There are problems with your PAB that need to be resolved before we can proceed. If you haven't received that email within an hour or so then please send me a PM (Private Message, Link Outdated / Removed) and we'll get things sorted. Also, please do read the Pitch-A-Bitch FAQ ASAP.

PABers should realise that this is a free service so it is both important and imperative that they must read the FAQs and comply with the rules and format as necessary. Apoor submission will make Max's life miserable. Of course, he may ask some finer questions related to the PAB but I see no reason why PABers can omit or neglect some crucial info.

Thanks Chu, right you are. I'd guess that at least 1/3 of the PABs I receive are screwed up, almost always because the complainant has either not read the FAQ (by far this is the most common cause) or they've simply ignored the guidance it gives.

Failing to give a valid 'contact' email address is the primary cause of delayed and/or discarded PABs. And that's a shame because the FAQ spells it out VERY clearly; if you've read the FAQ there can be little doubt about the email situation and how to avoid the problem altogether:
Q. What do I need before I fill out the PAB form? (proper Email addresses)

A. All of our PAB communications are carried out via email so that we have a permanent record of what's happening. These records are an invaluable resource for reference and future issues. So, the first thing you need is a reliable email address for the 'contact email' address requested on the Pitch-A-Bitch form.

Using email addresses from Yahoo, AOL or Hotmail is not acceptable: these services often discard casino-related emails, the result being that you may or may not receive emails we send you. These deletions are random, unpredictably intermittent, and have been going on for years.

The issue with these services -- Yahoo, AOL and Hotmail -- is that they are blocking and/or discarding our emails addressed to you. This isn't something you have any control over. It's done on their mail servers long before the emails ever make it to your inbox. In other words tweaking your spam filters or whitelists will have no effect on the problem because the deletions happen long before these are ever invoked.

So, to be perfectly clear:

If you do not provide a valid 'contact email' address in your Pitch-A-Bitch submission your issue WILL BE DELAYED until you correct this error. Please don't waste our time by using Yahoo, AOL, ATT.net or Hotmail addresses here: get a more reliable email address.

FYI, Google Mail seems to work nicely. GMX.com is good too. There are many, many other free and reliable email services.

Why is having Yahoo, AOL, ATT.net or Hotmail addresses a waste of your time? They are among the largest email providers in the world and AOL one of the largest ISPs in the world.

Because emails from casinomeister.com disappear at Hotmail. Sometimes you get them - sometimes you don't. And att.net blocks most of anything that has casino or gambling in it's content. Casinomeister.com emails to any address at att.net bounce.

So yes, it's a waste of time chasing people around who use these email providers.

Actually Max had already explained in depth so I dont really understand why Furbert was asking. As for hotmail some of the pm notices from casinomeister did not arrive but that was more than a year ago. I dont think I have missed any such notices in the past year though.

Sorry, but did you not read the post you are apparently replying to?

I've been telling players this since 1999 because it's been a problem for at least that long. From our point of view it's not good enough if you get 50 or 60 or 70% of our emails when we're discussing a PAB. You need to get ALL of them and since those services cannot or will not provide that level of service (for gambling-related messages) they are not up to the task, hence the long-standing need to use alternate services.

As to AOL, quality of service has little to do with size. I would never use AOL specifically because they are so big and meddle so extensively with the services they provide. Their customers may think that's great but I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Just a side note here about email addresses. Usually we consider our 'direct' ISP email as sufficient for receiving all mails. Unfortunately, a year or so ago, my ISP switched to using GMail. (And we use the same ISP here at work) Mails do not have the gmail extention, but the provider extention, i.e.: mousey@localisp.com.

I have nothing against Gmail. I use it a LOT for other accounts directly through the web interface. However, I have learned lately that I am not receiving some business emails to our ISP addy (CM comes right through to my personal acct-- so far) although they are addressed correctly. (NO, they're not in Junk folder or lurking in our account(s) on the web). I have no other choice but to conclude that some mails are being blocked before they even reach my account.

So, whatever your email provider, if you are expecting an email, but do not receive it, please contact the sender and make different arrangements.

Yeah, I've heard that recently from others regarding Gmail. :( At some point we'll have to look into this seriously with an eye to possibly re-evaluating our "good to go" rating of Gmail.

I missed the explanation. Murder me. Seeing as you seem to be banned by the largest email providers in the world. Would it not make sense to send from a different email address? /justsaying

Casinomeister.com is not banned. I've run this site for thirteen years and have never spammed or have been blacklisted by any provider. It's the providers that are screwed up, not our domain.

I'd appreciate not derailing this thread any further. Thanks!

This is worrying, as most users either go with an email provided by their ISP, or sign up with one of the free providers that are well known, like Hotmail and Gmail. My ISP recently outsourced email to Google, so it seems to indicate a trend amongst ISPs, and many players could unknowingly end up with email addresses from one of these poorly performing outfits, but not know it because the services still use the ISPs domain.

The way around this is not something the average user will think of, as it involves setting up and running their own email domain, usually through setting up their own web domain. Even then, how can we be sure that the domain hosting company are not interfering with the email domains being set up?

I suspect much of the problem is due to US companies more or less controlling these services, so they see anything related to gambling as something their users don't want to see, or would entice them to engage in illegal activities.

The solution seems to be to make sure that any provider chosen is NOT controlled by a big US conglomerate, and that neither have they outsourced services like email to such a conglomerate.

One advantage of running your own email domain separate from your ISP is that it is much easier to switch providers without being held hostage to non-portable email addresses, along with the need to make sure that all the people you want to hear from have your new email address, and have started using it.

Or I can just change the mail server to Crapmeister.com - that'll work :p

Btw - we're waiting on the casino's response at the moment; they told us that they are investigating the OP's issue.

No progress. The rep first said the casino was reluctant to discuss the case for security reasons, now we're supposedly waiting for them to compose a response. Either way it's taking a whole lot longer than expected.

Just like I figured:

Guy signs up in the forum, posts a complaint, turns out he has two accounts in the forum (one is his brother's *gasp*), troll joins in the conversation, gets banned for being a troll, player submits PAB - it's bogus (multiple accounts in the casino) and then Bob's yer Uncle.

;)

How did I not see this coming??

Yes, we got word back from the casino.

So Furbie was his "brother's" account then? I'm shocked.

Thanks Max for following up, and thanks Bryan for following up with us. Sorry you both had your time wasted.

No - Furbie wasn't this guy's "brother" - that was just some extraneous troll who decided to have a go at me and the forum. But they will all come back - they always do. :p

Casinomeister is like a magnet to trollism and gnomes.
