Sayonara online slots - I am done :-)

I bought a used PlayStation 4 today so I'm officially on my online gambling hiatus. When the game developers stop hurting the casinos, the players and themselves with their questionable tactics, I'll return. Best to quit while you're ahead! It isn't fun any more for Canadians.

Lol! I bought a PS4 too! In December, so I would have something to play while on a self-imposed slot slowdown. Perhaps I'll start a different thread about which PS4 games are worth playing, etc.

I just hope the Canadian government doesn't become emboldened by the Australian government's recent restrictions on online gambling. The tyranny of the nanny state seems to be an ever-present and increasing threat to personal freedoms.

Been 25 days now without depositing. Feels good!

Only had a couple of 'pangs of temptation', and they came and went early on. Those impulses hit pretty hard out of nowhere don't they

But I find abstaining easy....the longer I go without, the more I don't want to 'undo' my resolve. In fact I've proven that I'm in control here.

So when my monthly slot hiatus is up, I'll have to be very selective about where I deposit. I expect casinos to roll out the red carpet to woo me with groundbreaking offers (or not), but once that's gone it's another month of wait.

I want all casinos to set the RTP meter at maximum for my arrival :cool:

Even with a deposit I cannot play  Drvegas had a deposit and sites down

I do not think I can ever give up slots, I was close the other week as I have seen a dramatic change in play

I remember years ago I used to deposit £5 £10 and lasted ages but now days £25 deposit with 25 bonus say betting 18p - 40p spins and gone withen a few minutes No fun and no enjoyment, Bloody get a Brass for £25 and get a good half hr from it :)

Yeah, the problem is depositing more money for the same amount of playtime like you said. A tenner could last ages back in the day, now we pay £25 for the same privilege

I don't think I'll ever give up slotting fully, but I'll certainly manage it a lot better. I know everyone's different but I think you'll find 'cutting back' a lot easier than you might think. You're at that point......if the games keep hammering you like this you'll get so fed up anyway and take a break

In our case, it would be up to the provinces and not Ottawa. Quebec had talked about blocking European casinos last year but haven't done so. They want people to gamble on Espace Jeux.

I'm starting with Rise of the Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy XV. Hopefully I can find a used Horizon next month. I also found work as a courier.

Its like all these software providers are taking yggdrasils lead in gaming. Trying to come out with innovative looking games but in return the payouts absolute garbage. MG is the absolute worst for this right now. Downright AWFUL for it.

yes, it's just bad luck and the key to winning at Slots is persistence :)
Sadly each spins costs money and few of us have the funds to that persistent. Yes, there's a revolving door of fresh fish, and for the ones that aren't playing they'll give Free Spins too, and we all know the value of these spins. Casinos know the mentality of players, that they love Free stuff and they think Free Spins solve everything :)
The real key to winning is self discipline and knowing when to stop

There is no key to "winning"... you will always lose in the end.... it's supposed to be a form of entertainment, not a way to make money,...

Well the latest Netent releases also show a swing towards the bad side unfortunately.

I dont like this new era of slotting. They are trying to make more innovative looking slots but in return the payouts are absolute nightmare. I stopped trying new slots for the most part and stick to older ones. Maybe some of these casino's are reading all these complaints and will give feedback to the slot designers but as long as they raking in the dough, I doubt it.

Maybe some of us slot designers are looking...

The problem as i see it is that there are SOOOO many providers now, a lot of them very good in terms of appearance, but terrible mathematically, and players have to wade through a ton of crap. That's why almost all of us will go back to the slots we know and love, from a time when there was less choice and more stand-out games.

The payouts haven't changed much in terms of the TRTP's.... it's the volatilities that have...

I see you're wearing your Slot Designer hat ;)

I agree insofar that slots - and gambling in general - should never be a sole way of trying to attain money, yet to do it purely for entertainment makes little sense. The primary reason will always be to make money off the games, or else we'd all be playing in Fun Mode, surely?

The entertainment factor is a by-product of the thrill of the chase, and hoping to get 'the big one'. No one plays to make £97 on their £100 investment, I assure you!

no one plays for entertainment either , too easy to use this as a pleasent liking word for it, im yet to see any punter play a slot purely to find it entertaining in fact a punter wants to win nothing more nothing less or you would not part with your money , hay i can go watch a horse run across a field for entertainment , but im not going to get that buzz if i have money on it crossing the line first with money on it within a race

I know it's probably old fashioned, but I prefer the traditional "3 scatters for 10 free spins and some stacked/sticky wilds" type of games. Some of this modern crap is just awful.
