RTG Download Problem--Can someone help?

I had the same problem, when i took down all of my virus & maleware protection I was able to download the casino. But even though I finally downloaded the casino I still cant download the games. They just sit there @ 42% downloaded and then it fails. I will try some of the other suggestions.

Several problems occur with this procedure.

One I use dial up only and to delete a working program such as InetBet would take me several weeks to replace the games providing it even would reinstall. And I don't want to take the chance of losing it entirely. The problem is with the installation, not the running program.

The problem is with RTG not just one casino.

That said I checked my registery and there is no entry for Real Time Gaming nor InetBet nor any of the other names that I do have loaded.

I went to my download folder and deleted all entries for setup.exe for these programs.

I have been trying to download Lucky Club from their site. They are RTG. After rechecking all of the above I again tried to load their casino. I can get the setup file downloaded, but as usual with all of the others, when the RTG installation file starts to install, it switches to the Windows Installer and produces that same error that has been posted here before.
Lucky Club had not been installed on this computer before, so that cannot be a conflict.

For what it is worth--that is my story. I hope it helps!

p.s. The casinos CAN be installed from a CD, but we don't usually get them anymore.

Is this a laptop MaryJean?

If so could you take it to a mcdonald's and use their wifi for downloading?

If it's a desktop, can you get a friend to download the programs and put them on cd? With that you are still going to have to download the games themselves, but you could cue them up and let it run and go do something else.

I don't see any possible solution other than deleting the registry keys after uninstalling and the registry keys HAVE to be in there somewhere. VM suggested running CCleaner because it has a tool to fix obsolete registry entries, have you tried that?

Maybe your dial up just keeps timing out and corrupts the installation?

One last thing that I'd suggest is going to Start > Run > "Type" services.msc

Look for Windows Installer, please make sure this is running or started and if not then right click on it and select properties and set "Startup Type" to Automatic and then click Start, which is right under the Startup Type.

It will ask you to restart your computer after making these changes, Just click Restart windows later.
Now if it still doesnt work after doing this, then restart your computer and try running the casino setup again.

No it is not a laptop, it is a Windows7 Pro desktop. However, as I noted when I started this thread, I have also tried my Windows XP machine on a totally different line. At first that worked. I could download InetBet onto an exterior drive and transfer to this Windows7. Now that no longer works. Somewhere a block has been put into the installer, from somewhere, whether from Microsoft or from RTG or DOJ---who knows. Whether intentional or a mistake is yet to be determined.

Is the problem still there on the broadband hookups?

Thanks for your help---you guys are the greatest!

Good luck!

Thanks--

I checked the installer and it is already on automatic.

Too Bad--I hoped that was a simple answer.

MaryJean

p.s. I have run System Mechanic several times including a Deep Scan and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong--not even a virus.

I just remembered this, I recall having a problem similar quite a while back with one RTG, I uninstalled, ran ccleaner registry fixer and problem was solved.

I know you don't want to uninstall but I don't think you have a choice but it wouldn't hurt to download Ccleaner and try that first.

downloading problem

I'm not sure if this a USA problem or not. I see others are playing at RTG casinos, and so am I, however, I can no longer download any new ones, either on my Windows7 nor on my XP machine.
I uploaded a copy of the error here. I hope it works.

I contacted the casino, but they didn't know what was causing it.
Does anyone here know what I should do?

Thanks in advance for your help.
MaryJean

I too am having this issue. I uninstalled my security protection, downloaded and then reinstalled the security program.
hope this helps.

just tried to install Buzzluck. Thought I'd try out the free play -- if it has it -- just to get a gander at the new software. Anyway. It won't install either. Made sure no other proggies running. Even turned off firewall and AV.... also tried the right click/run as admin. Still no go. Get a VBS script runtime error.

vista and IE8

will try ccleaner later on when I've time to putz away on it...

Might try to install it on the win7/IE9 laptop later this week just for poops and giggles....

I'm just pulling this outta my ass but I bet you will be able to install no problems at all on win7.

Vista is a pos! :D

LOL! Yep, I agree, but this old Vista desktop has a spiffy 27" monitor... and the laptop... well... it's fast and newer and all that, but... it's a laptop. LOL Nevertheless, I'll try installing to the laptop later on this week.

Issues here too

I have had issues with RTG casino's too, first it started at not downloading any games.

These are all RTG casino's that i have never had any issues with before, Intertops, Inetbet, club world.....all of them started this a couple months back on my Laptop only (running winVista 32bit) I had the same casino's installed on my desktop, (win7 64bit) and they worked fine on the desktop.

First it was "Error downloading" when I went to any game, or cashier in the Casino, the week before they all worked fine. I can only play the games that I have played before....no new one or ones I havn't played on laptop before.

so I thought I would delete the software and reinstall.....I can't...Now i get the Windows installer error. (I checked the regedit to make sure the installer was on auto...it is....I tried updating my windows....all are up to date. Nothing I am doing is allowing downloads from ONLY RTG casinos.

Even the new Buzz Luck won't install.

I can't help but think this is a RTG issue...NOT our pc's or connections...(BTW I have tried this from 2 different wireless networks)

Anyone have any other clues?

It's beginning to sound more like a windows update hosed RTG downloads particularly for Vista users. I also think it has to do with IE updates as well. There are so many variables, hardware and software wise.

The only thing I would suggest is to do a poll for those who are having issues about which OS and IE versions you have and include if you allow windows updates to do automatic updates. It would also be good to include all your system specs. Then maybe one of the casino's could forward this info to RTG.

Well to answer a couple of those...NO I don't allow Auto Windows updates...as a matter of fact I just did the updates that were long past due...to see if it would fix the issue.

I am running IE8

what gets me is.....nothing on my system changed....just RTG

This is how I fixed my problem

I have Trend Micro Titanium Pro as my anti virus. It was this that was blocking the Windows Installer and would not let me install any RTGs. I also was using IE9, I never had a problem with installing any RTG with IE8. So I did some research on the net and found that if anyone reports a website as not safe to Trend Micro, they will block it as malicious until they are done with their investigation. With the updates that are performed daily with Trend Micro, a website that is safe today my not be safe tomorrow.

I uninstalled IE9 and went back to IE8, and turned off Trend Micro to install the RTG casinos. I didn't have a problem downloading them with everything turned off. But if I want to play them I have to turn off Trend Micro and turn on Windows defender because Trend Micro still blocks them.

Try turning off your anti virus and running windows defender before downloading it. Maybe that will help.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! That was the issue. my Trend Micro...and I looked in the logs for past scans..and low and behold... "realtime Gaming" blocked all over!

I am glad I could help! I never had a problem before but when I was going through the Trend Micro site for something else I saw a post about windows installer, then I was reading through everything and I thought what the hell let me see if RTG installer is being blocked. Yep it sure was. lol.
