Robots come in many shapes and forms. Some are friendly robots, like Robbie the Robot in Fantastic Planet or the ones who answer my auto-reply email. But there are some who attack their masters and try to take over the world...

I think what you are asking is what is a robot that casino operators are concerned about. These are programs that you can install that will play automatically without input from the player. These are programed to play "perfect" stategy in games of skill (video poker, blackjack, etc.) and apparently a cause for concern among casino owners.
