Rival software review (unnecessarily long)

The I-slots idea is nice, with the continuing storylines and stuff that keeps you playing. I can see it losing its charm fast though, I played As the reel turns 1 yesterday, and before I could advance more than twice I was getting really tired of the picking casino chips feature, wishing it had an autoplay button that just gave me a random payback. The only time it got moderately exciting was when I hit it during 2x multiplier freespins.

What these slots need for any staying appeal are some decent feature wins. Maybe you can get them but I haven't seen it so far.

It would be cool if they had more interactivity, alternative story lines, etc. The big wins do come along now and then :)

FIVE free-spins??? I never knew it went to those dizzy heights!
In all the times I've played that game I have NEVER had more than 3 at x2, and 4 out of 5 times it's 2 @ x2.
This 'final bonus round' is a real sucker-punch on the i-slots and completely ruins what should be some of the best games on the net.

This is the best Rival slot there is in my opinion (well, there are a couple good newer ones - the bird one is pretty decent). But this is the Rival game I always had the best luck at consistently.

The trick is this (and like everything, it requires a little bit of luck). You know how you first start out and you can bet whatever; then you get the bonus and have to pick a coin size, and I think it's this stage where your car is "racing" against the cop car. If your car wins here, the next stage lets you bet whatever you want again - UP YOUR BET DURING THIS STAGE. Win or lose, you're going to get the free spins; before you get the getaway or policeman icons, there are now dynamite scatter icons on the reels which can give you free spins. It was also during this stage where I got 5 policeman scatters for $375 on a 75 cent bet. But the reason I say to up your bet during this phase is because that's the bet it will use when you collect your free spins and multiplier which are played at the beginning of the next "game". Then you can reduce your bet again and repeat.

If you happen to be beaten by the cop cars then just keep using small bets.

Thanks SW - great idea!
I'm gonna try that in a minute & see how I get on.
Also I'm going to take careful note of the free-spins win (as mentioned above, I suspect it's not adding to the bank properly..)

I would actually recommend using a progressive-style betting pattern, maybe increasing it slightly every 10 or 15 spins because the 3 getaway or 3 cop scatters always seem to come fairly quickly in this round.

Let me know about the potential problem because I'm curious about that - and it would mean that I have a lot of reimbursements coming my way if there is indeed a problem (depending on how far back they can go). :D

Would you blinkin believe it! Didn't get to the dynamite round, but did actually get FIVE free-spins for the first time ever!
And I hit something big! :D

But there IS something wrong with the software!
Not as bad as I thought, but look at the two screenshots I just took before & after my free-spins:

Old Attachment (Invalid)

Old Attachment (Invalid)

Before spins bank = $473.13 + $51.00 won = $524.13
But in the 'after' shot my bank is only $522.63 = $1.50 short!

Not a lot - but a bug is a bug :(

Another one - MUCH worse!

Old Attachment (Invalid)

Old Attachment (Invalid)

Before spins bank = $520.33 + $14.70 won = $535.03
But in the 'after' shot my bank is only $529.33 = $5.70 short!

I've sent a PM to RobRival - I hope he will give this his urgent attention!

Hi everyone,

Yes we're aware of this issue - the freespin tally counter in the client is adding the numbers it receives from the gaming server incorrectly (it's adding the line wins from the originating bet twice). A quick chat with live support would have told you this right away. We're hoping to have it resolved shortly.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts - the bank is correct, just the free-spin win display is wrong.

But how long have you been aware of this issue exactly?
I'm not a software programmer, but I would have thought fixing a minor 'glitch' like this should only take a few hours - not days or weeks. :(

BTW can you PLEASE ask your team to give a longer delay between spins in autoplay & during free-spins on ALL your slots so we can actually see what wins are hitting?
(Could be an optional setting..?)
I'm beginning to really enjoy your slots - but this aspect is really frustrating!

Thanks,
KK

I have to say I love the Rival slots and always have. Cleopatra and Reel Party dont seem to pay like they used to, but it happens in slot play I guess.

Anyone hit a Royal on their VP? I dont remember seeing any screenshots here.

Rob - thanks for being attentive once again :)
