Is Rival Casino One of the worst casino software out? I mean you can bet your ass on slots and it pays almost nothing on 3 or 4 symbols. The only way to get a decent pay. If you get lucky and get a bonus round. You can go many spins and wont even get a win. In 10 years of playing online casinos. I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER made a cashout from a rival casino. This has to be the worst software out. WoW!

I don't know what you are doing wrong, but I've made cash outs from several Rivals, and I only really started playing online casinos since last summer.

IMHO they are either VERY VERY good or absolutely TERRIBLE. It's the "variance" that you read about on the forum. I haven't had a cashout in 6 months. Before that probably 5 good ones and last December 6 or so within two weeks all at different ones. I haven't given up yet..just a little frustrating!

Depositing money into Rival. That's what I'm doing wrong. Rival is a money pit. IMHO this is the worst group of casinos I've ever seen. Their slot payout is awful. Im sticking to Microgaming they seem to know how to design slots. Rival should take a lesson from MG. I have closed all but 1 Rival casino and after X-mas its GONE! Rival and Top Gaming is in the recycle bin.

That's funny...I've cashed out a LOT more from Rivals and even RTG than from MG.

I've made several good cashouts from Rivals, but not lately, I agree with oldtrvlagt, it all or nothing.
I've had some unbelievable good runs last summer, but October and especially November were a nightmare, with no cashouts at all and hardly any decent wins.

I agree with you that some of the slots have terrible paytables, I tend to avoid these, as they never seem to pay and I always wonder how on earth these slots can reach their RTP percentage.
Secret Garden for example, holy christ on a blue bike, how can you possibly WIN anything on that crapslot?
The line payouts are even worse than Scar Rich 2, no expanding wilds or wild multipliers, freespins only have a 2x multiplier and scatters don't pay.
Gave it another try yesterday at Tropica, got 60 free spins due to retriggers for a total of 17x bet!
Looking at the paytable this slot is very high variance, but I really wonder where the good side of the variance is, must be that bonusround..

Compare it with one of my favourites, So 80's, now THAT slot has a decent paytable, wilds give a 3x multiplier when completing a win, scatters pay as they should pay and 3 of them trigger 15 free spins with another 3x multiplier!

Maybe one day I'll find out how you can win anything on Secret Garden, Fantasy Fortune and Hobo's Hoard..until then, I'll stick to my favourites.

Yes, the good wins on Secret Garden come from the bonus round when getting it during freespins. Still don't think I've ever seen more than 200x bet or so. Same with Fantasy Fortune and Hobo's Hoard really.

hmm.. seems like people experiencing totally differences.. :p

for me its like this: i started online gambling with playtech casinos. after i explored casinomeister i have switched to some rtg casinos. now iam mostly on rival. it depends i still play here and there sometimes...
so you can say i was hooked to playtech, rtg and rival. next one should be microgaming, right?

all i can say iam mostly lowroller and my average bet size is about 50cent. i had enourmous hits on rival slots. its only! the features with the expanding wilds which cause these incrdible wins.

i found the rival slots very entertaining, esspecially the islots. and youre right, the variance is brutal, either you bust out or you hit big features.

and there also some which can pay good line hits. my favourite slots on rival are scary 1 and 2, psychedelic 60s, fixer upper.

i play them 99% if i play rival and made some good cashins, way better than on rtg.

this is just personal experience but the rival software is really innovative and far from crap;)

ps: have you tried slotocash casino? for my experience its the best rival out there.

    cheers

Whenever I play at Rival it feels like all the effort and imagination has gone into creating the visual appeal of the slot. The asthetics may be pleasing to the eye, but the way these slots seem set up is unlike all the other software out there. The RTP may be inline with what you would expect from slots, but the long spells of hitting absolutly nothing is quite boring.

Call me old fashioned but the old uns are the best, much more simpler and much more fun to play. Plus you always know where you stand with them.
Going 40 odd spins and hitting nothing at all, means you need a decent size bankroll to cope with this kind of streakiness.

But its about variation, having a stable of casinos from each platform you are happy with. In my stable of casinos there is only 1 Rival and for now I intend to keep it that way.

The ones I find are lucrative are Cosmic Quest 1 and 2, Cleopatra Coins, Scary Rich 1 and 2 and Jacques Pot - I play Secret Garden less for the wins and more because I just like it. Same with Future Fortunes.

i agree that rival is a money pit most of the time, unless you just happen to have a hot streak. I mean come on, getting 4 symbols on a payline still not even paying 1x your bet really stinks. Everyone loves the bonus rounds, but let's face it, even those have dry spells, and that really sucks. If you don't make up for your regular game losses in the bonus rounds, your bankroll is gone in no time flat.

I also agree that these games CAN be the most fun of any of the casinos if you happen to get a lucky three expanding wilds in a bonus round. Or the hamburger round on jacques pot (the only thing that makes the free spins round worthwhile!)

I've been gaming online for almost 8 years and I don't have the luxury of blowing of an entire line of gaming software so casually, being in the U.S.

I've been lucky a couple of times on Secret Garden. After going up about $400 on 60 free spins on a $1 bet (half max bet @ .01) I raised my bet to $5 (half max bet @ .05 I find, for me, once a certain number of coins, wagered are hitting, if I raise by coin size and leave the number of coins constant, I can hit again quickly on the raise - this seems to work for me on all platforms) and immediately hit the free spins, again and, while in free spins, hit the bonus round. I must have watered flowers in about 25 or 30 courtyards - my balance was almost $1,700 at the end of the free spins/bonuses. Still, I always approach Secret Garden gingerly, with $0.40-.60 bets to test the waters and it's not my first choice at Rival, by any means.

5 Ring Circus has been a great slot at all sites for me, especially at a site where it's played for the first time. The scatters/free spins can just keep coming even in the $10 bet range or higher.

Travel Bug can go crazy during free spins, but the Ticket Counter bonus is really hard to keep going.

As ugly as Love and Money is, (looks like it was hand-drawn by either a chimpanzee with a very high IQ or a human with a very low one) I've done OK the few times my stomach was up to it.

Winter Wonders, if hitting, can produce some big line pays in addition to free spins.

Both Atomic Age bonus rounds are usually great and I basically stay away from Future Fortune, Fantasy Fortune, Gobbler's Gold, Jacque's Pot, Reel of Fortune and Watch the Birdie and I just don't play the I-slots as I feel I might be paying to wait for the next levels as their sequential.

Surfing Paradise is a good go to 3 reel with a very high RPT (I dance between 1 and 2 coins often, specially going to 1 coin after a hit @ 2) and I've hit big and pretty often on Chicken Little (again, separating a 3 coin hit with 1 coin or 2 coin or both, bets).

Of course, being in the US, I have probably mined Rival sites more thoroughly than if I had a wider variety of gaming choices to choose from.

I pretty much prefer rivals ove rtg and mcg anyday. I like gobblers gold but it has went stone cold for me so I need to move on to another slot like pigskin payout. I haven't played most of the other games and I don't play the Islots as I've gotten burned hitting bonus rounds and just going to another destination.

Richard's point is true to Rival form

From memory back in 2006 - 2007 Rival halved their slot pay-tables.

    EG:

    3 Ring Circus Scatters

10 free spins for three scatters
20 free spins for four scatters
and I believe 100 free spins for five scatters.

    Since the change:
10 free spins for three scatters
10 free spins for four scatters
10 free spins for five scatters

Five scatters pays $45 on a .45cent bet on 3 Ring Circus
Compared to say MGS Thunderstruck that pays $225.

And the norm of hitting 3 or 4 symbols on most Rival slots pay a lousy return.

Still people do cash out on Rival software.

However IMHO there was no need to halve the pay tables.

    Cheers

    Dave

Spot on Dave but that is not the worst in Rival. You used to get your bet back for 2 scatters in Grandma's Attic but no more now. I would believe that you get 2 scatters at least 4-5 times for every 100 spins so in effect they are decreasing the payout by 4-5% not to mention the 2 scatters you get during free spins.

Excactly my feeling with MG ... I can't hit ANYTHING on them, and if I do they pay next to nothing.
Really weird how people have such different experiences with different casinos....wonder if it could have anything to do with location ....yaay, room for another conspiracy theory. We haven't had one for at least 3 days

I'm with the pro Rival lobby!
Yes, I've had some diabolical times; crashed & burned long before meeting WR, same as any other software. But I've also had some great cash-outs - much bigger % of my deposit than at MGs for example.

I really believe a lot depends on which slots you play. Personally I prefer the lower variance ones, like those listed by bernynhel, and I try to avoid the high variance one like the Scary Bitches, and Jacques Potty - love that slot - but it's soooo all or nothing!

I don't think you can fairly compare what you get for scatters between any two slots, and certainly not these 2.

    The pay for the scatters is just 1 tiny part of the equation;
The chances of hitting 3 or more scatters on Thunderstruck is 1 in 143 spins.
I don't have an exact figure for 5-reel Circus, but they definitely hit much more frequently than that!
In fact, before submitting this post I just did a quick analysis for 5 separate sessions on this slot, selected at random:
In 1014 spins (including the free-spins themselves) I hit 3 or more scatters 26 times.
That's once in every 39 spins!

The overall return for Thunderstuck is 95.05%
    For 5-Reel Circus it's "about 96%"

You pays your money & you takes your choice!
Personally I far prefer 5-Reel for the simple reason that you get the free-spins much more frequently than on TS - most of the time the spins are pretty crap on both, but at least the Rival slot gives me a bit of hope and some entertainment a bit more often! ;)
