GeordieColin has asked me to share this with the community:
It was a beautiful funeral which was well attended. He was adored by all of his family and friends and Col was as helpful and reliable in his real life as he was online. The tributes from his online family was very much appreciated by all those who attended.
He left us with this poem and this song. RIP Col
Afterglow
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
And as he used to love Deep Purple
At 17:30 a horse called ‘Recite a Prayer’ raced and won.
