Anyone else sick of constant RG reminders, getting ..

Your deposit is over your normal amount (150 instead of 100)
You have been playing for 5 minutes and lost/won xxx (mecca)
Do you want to quit the game or continue, bang in the middle of a feature ( yeah think I will quit)
Emails after every deposit 200 or over asking if I need help.
The list goes on.

Dont think i can play for 10 mins now without getting this crap, so good to be cared about.

Wouldnt mind if there was some intelligence about it,just automatic messages taking no account of if you
are winning or losing.

It’s became pretty insulting.

before they couldn’t give a monkeys about how responsible or not you gambled, now we have vomit inducing adverts with Celebs telling us they care about our gambling habits and want to protect us all...

how about instantly getting paid if we win, sow and kyc done before a penny is spent for starters...

Yes it's annoying me slightly to be honest. That being said, William Hill seem to be the only ones sending 'we've noticed an increase in your spending' emails...which is a load of bunkum because I've got a small deposit limit there which I've had for yonks.

Imagine they did that on top.

Paddy McGuiness or someone shilling some 2-Bit casino, but once all the slot lights & sounds shit is out of the way it fades to black with just him sitting in a chair, telling us to gamble responsibly, and complete our SOWs before depositing, which may or may not include 3 payslips, utility bills etc

The 'responsible' face of gambling we'll never see advertized.......ever

The casinos couldnt give a flying f**k about how much we lose, the more revenue they generate the better as in any business, its all about compliance and fear of fines and making do gooders feel they are doimg a wonderful job.

I get loads of surveys from them and RG nonsense, not made a deposit in months.
Yet they advertise the free scratch card and other free to play game they offer daily....
It’s nauseating in all honesty, like a celebrity trying to lecture you on how to live knowing they are the dirtiest lowest form or species on the planet.

Definatey does put a limit on my gambling though, dare not make a decent deposit as it will trigger SOW
demands, dont think I have staked more than £1 a spin on slots in weeks, norm is now 40p or 60p,
Crazy as I was playing £2 spins in bingo halls years ago.

You do know it’s a set amount don’t you to trigger SOW? Just keep your deposit under a certain amount and keep switching casinos If you think it may be a issue.

The way casinos shouldn't be doing it. I think it varies from casino to casino and so does the period of time taken to accumulate enough deposits to trigger the SOW.

Some casinos (shock horror) even do things correctly and only use due diligence to pull up customers who they deem to be high risk...rather than an arbitrary deposit/withdrawal figure.

All should be done before a penny is spent then you can properly lecture the player on how much he or she can afford.

i think in the U.K. eventually it will be done this way, also the £2 max bet will happen and advertising will be massively clamped down on.

I don’t agree with it all but how many behave and have for decades it was inevitable that regulation in this form would be a certainty and only set to get a lot lot worse.

Will casinos provide this? Or is it a commission instructed figure?
I just was given a figure in the uk, so far staying below that hasn’t caused me a issue at the casinos I’ve already not hit that amount at.
Obviously with Covid my deposits now are zero so may have altered.

Well I appreciate your stance mate but I'm the opposite.

Whilst i think casinos need regulation, its no-one else's lookout to tell you how much money you can and cannot spend- our own hard earned cash lest we forget.

As long as the casino is actively promoting their RG tools, I believe it's then up to the individual to take some responsibility.

As do I to a certain extent but that leads to the nonsense we see here regarding issues.

If it’s regulated stricter as should of been years ago we wouldn’t be in the mess we are now with SE, SOW etc etc....

Beg to differ on that one, there are degrees of SOW levels. At OJO I reached the first trigger level and managed
to send enough to satisfy them but on the provision i had a daily deposit limit of £200 and a rolling 30 day loss limit of 2k (I am well in profit with them so that is no problem).I asked if either of these limitations
could be changed and was told further proof of earnings would be needed before they would change them,
I cannot not and will not send them any more any more SOW docs, they have more than enough proof that
I can afford to deposit more. I am actually ok with these limits, makes me play more carefully and still make
a profit.

Well SOW is nothing new. As others have said on here, the big UK bookies have been dishing them out for years to the big betters and highrollers...essentially high risk clientele. Done on a personal, case by case basis. Which is why these establishments are not going mental now.

The Maltese joints, on the other hand, are running around like headless chickens dishing out SOWs for £50 withdrawals.

Heard different things, set amount and use as casino sees fit.
The whole thing is a mess.
To be honest casinos brought the scrutiny on themselves. Honest profit wasnt enough..look at how many fines were handed out for RG failures over the years. Casinos just wanted more and couldn't help themselves.

It's the same in every business pretty much...money corrupts.

That’s one casino, as said if you wanted to you could move between brands or casinos to avoid sow if you think it will be a problem.

personally if it ever got a issue for me I’d close my account and take whatever I won with me if I couldn’t satisfy requests, pretty sure in the U.K. they can’t just steal your money unless they accuse you and take it further accusing you of money laundering.

no way would i wait weeks or jump hoops for example as people have, spinning a slot really ain’t that important to me.

Money is not always hard-earned, where'd that sentiment come from

Clearly balance is 'key'

Ought players be allowed to recklessly splurge said funds willy-nilly without some form of overview? I don't think that's particularly responsible, nor would it benefit the casino doing that, long-term.

But actually what we're seeing is an 'over-nannying' by casinos to the point of nausea, we know and they know they couldn't care less about our welfare but are simply trying to keep on the UKGC's good side.

Made all the worse by said smug celebrities lecturing us on the perils of gambling and to keep things FUN FUN FUN!

So that means......they didn't care about Deposit Limits and my welfare before all these regulations came about, say 5/6 years ago?? Fucking hell
